Outside the parks...

We went to the World July 05 (off-site) and then we had wonderful trip in Feb 06. We were there for 7 days, on-site, with dining plan and the weather was perfect and no lines!!!

DH has a conference in Orlando for a week in June, so we are going back!! We will be staying at the Gaylord Palms. I remember the heat and the lines from last July. (I'm really spoiled after the Feb trip) But i just can't imagine being that close to Disney without going to the parks. I have scheduled a character breakfast at Poly, and I plan to go to DTD. Is there anything else we can do without buying passes for the parks???

You can take a look around the other resorts.We love doing this! One time we did a drink at a bar at each of the monorail resorts.

Stroll around the Boardwalk.If you're there at night you can see part of Illuminations.

Another favorite of ours is the Wagon Ride at Fort Wilderness.You can go out to Ft.Wilderness for dinner at Trails End Buffet then go on the fireworks wagon ride.They stop the wagon by the lake and you can see...and hear ...Wishes from there!



WAGON RIDES

Offered on a first come, first served basis, you can take an old-fashioned horse drawn wagon ride for a 45 minute tour of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.

$8.00 (ages 10 and up); $4.00 (ages 3 - 9), No charge for children under age 3.
Children ages 3 - 11 must be accompanied by an adult
Departs from Pioneer Hall at 7:00pm and 9:30pm. On select evenings a fireworks ride will replace the 9:30pm outing
No reservations are accepted.

Electric Water pageant? I agree with going to look around the hotels, especially AKL, and the boardwalk is fantastic. Watching Wishes from the Poly?

You can also go to Pleasure Island at night and can have a few drinks from the booths along the street and enjoy the music without having to buy a pass for the clubs.
