Outside the Parks Swap - See Post #4 and please respond!!

This is just an information thread and question thread for Outside the Parks. I will open sign-ups for this swap on the morning of 5/1. The due date is 7/1.

Questions for you:
1. Do you want 1 element or 2?
2. Do you want pages as well?
3. I've tried to think of all the things to do outside the parks, but I'm sure I've forgotten something. What else would you like to see? Do you want Universal, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, etc. on here or just Disney property stuff?
4. DTD has a lot of photo ops and I've listed them in groups of 4. Do you like it set up this way or would you rather just have the photo ops with the stores they are associated with?

I love completed pages - that is my first vote. If we don't do pages, then I like 2 elements.

Since there doesn't seem to be much interest in this swap, I'd like to get your opinion.

Is there just no interest in this topic for a swap or is it just a bad time for it as there's so many other swaps going on and coming up? Would you prefer that I reschedule this swap for the fall or drop it all together?

I would so love to do this swap! But for me right now, I'm swamped! I can only do so much with the time I have. I'd love to do it at a later time. But if you can't, I'll play next time. Just my opinion.

I wish I had photos to use for this swap. I have some for the DTD photo ops, but that is about it. So I would be in one or two groups max.
I'm happy doing it when the majority is.

I'm not positive I will be in this swap regardless of when you run it. I just don't do a lot outside of the parks -- but it certainly looks like I have been missing out on a lot. Maybe 2 of the groups...and later would be better for me.

If this swap had been a year ago I would have been all over it but there just isnt anything I need and we wont go back to WDW for 3 years. So I wont be playing this one but the topics look great!

I'd be interested in this swap whenever you run it. But I would only be doing the DTD groups (G-L) since we don't do the other things when we're there. I tend to go to elements instead of completed pages.

A big part of it is timing. I am swamped with my big DL swap.

My second issue, though, is the groupings. For example, I need Hoop De Doo stuff, but I haven't done the other three things in the group. Or I need multiple things for the Fantasia Gardens course, but I would never use a Fairways piece. I could use Winter Summerland stuff, but again, one spot isn't going to get me very far, I need lots. It would work better for me, if there were separate groups for topics. And if there is a lot of interest in a group, make only one element each. If there are only a couple of people than make 2 elements.

Even the water parks, which are separated out, those topics don't correspond well to what I have pictures for. I may have pics for the lazy rivers, but I don't have pics for individual slides or I don't think even the wave pools, as when I am in them, I don't want to keep track of the water camera. But with the groups so small (I'm not a fan of the 4 people element groups, but that is probably another thread) there is no room for generic pieces, which is what I primarily need.

Wow! I didn't realize what all was in this swap! I just assumed all non-Disney since it said outside the parks. Silly me for thinking that! I would be interested also, but right now I'm swampped with my involvement with the DL/DCA swap. If it were in the fall, I would participate. I agree with hopemax about some of the groups. Some of them I would use a piece or two, but I haven't done all of them (like we did Hoop Dee Doo, but not any of the rest). But I guess I could just plan my next trip to include everything I don't already have pics for!

Thanks for the input. I'll change the timing of this swap on the calendar and put it up for in the fall. I'm thinking a start date in October and end date in December. How's that sound?

Hope, thank you for the comments on the groups. I wasn't sure how to do them and your suggestions are very helpful. Since many of the items in this swap aren't things that everyone does, grouping them individually makes more sense.

I had similar thoughts as Hope about the groupings - like I have Sea Raycer pictures but not Table tennis or bikes, DisneyQuest but not La Nouba. I will definitely keep an eye out for this swap in the fall and see how the groups look then. (But I really like Group B just as it is - those are the kinds of stuff I always have tons of pictures for!)

I don't really have pictures for these types of activities so I would sit this one out. We are all about being inside the parks from dawn until late at night!
