Outside photographers in the parks?

We're getting married in November and our reception will be done at 4pm. We are using our own photographer however, and was wondering if anyone has ever taken their own photographer into the parks to take pictures? I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't allowed, but wanted to know if anyone had any insights. Thanks!

i dont think disney allow this but im sure someone can clarify

It's not allowed and would probably be pretty noticeable if someone was following you with a professional camera. Also as a side note you are not permitted to wear your dress into any of the parks but you can around the resorts.

For some reason I thought Randy was able to shoot a desert party at Epcot? I might be wrong in this assumption because I do remember no vendors being aloud in the parks (photography wise)...:confused3

Other vendors are allowed in the parks, but only at "disney run" events. You can't just walk into the parks with your wedding dress on.

You can certainly have one at a dessert party and such since that is a reserved area for the wedding party (and you still can't walk through the park, you have to be escorted via back stage).

I know you can't be in the parks in your dress, but I'm not sure about having other photographers in... Steven took photography in school and our camera is pretty heavy duty and he carries it with him everywhere when we travel. He also (much to my annoyance at times) insists on taking pictures of me. So it must look like a pro-following me around at times and no one has ever said a word... I'm not sure how they could actually tell a pro photographer from a just a normal tourist with a good camera (particularly if everyone is in street clothes), especially with people taking pictures all the time.

If you are having a Disney wedding/Illuminations DP etc. etc. then yes an outside vendor can shoot it... happens all the time. You just aren't suppose to hire an outside photog to follow you around in the park. Of course you probably could get away with it.. just depends on if you want to chance it or not. techinically it is against the rules though. Just like people have 'unofficialy' (not through DFTW) weddings on property when they aren't supposed to.

I talked with Randy about this as we wanted to do a luncheon at CRT after the ceremony and wanted him to take pictures there and he said that this was not permitted. As previously posted, the Desert Party, etc... that Disney organizes is different (and technically the photographer would have the escort at $90/hr).

wait... So you have to go through Disney ONLY to do an In Park Photo Session... Not even Randy can do that????

That's correct unless it is for a wedding/private event and then there is an escort fee assessed to use and outside photographer (which they may or may not actually charge you)
