Outside food in Golden Horseshoe

How is the Golden Horseshoe set up? Can we come in and sit in a non-crowded spot (upstairs?) and eat our own food? I don't want to be taking tables from customers who are buying food there. Is it usually so crowded that we'd be in someone's way?

It used to be that crowded. You'd have to show up at the end of a show to get a seat for the next show. I don't think it is that bad since the Billys left. I'd go in and if it isn't crowded, then no problem. There is also usually seating around Rancho outside the main dining area. Or the end of the Riverbelle Terrace seating area by the Stage Door Cafe.

Yup...we grab corn dogs from the Stage Door Cafe and head upstairs all the time. Seats can often be found even on busy days.

We often eat our own food that we've brought in with us upstairs while we watch the show.

No problem at all and it doesn't matter how crowded it is. Just sit anywhere you wan't (although we like being upstairs).

So you can go in here without ordering any food? This is literally the one thing we have never done in Disneyland because we can't eat any of the food in there, and we thought you needed to order something. Would we feel awkward/rude?

Nope, there is absolutely no requirement or pressure to purchase food! You can just watch the show, which I love viewing from the 2nd floor. Haha, last time we were in there a guy was fully napping spread out on a couch charging his phone and no one bothered him at all!
