Has anyone recently used an outside florist? Anyone you would recommend? I'm torn between ADH (where I know you can not use outside florist except for personal floral) and a ballroom where I can use outside vendors and get more for my money...I tried searching the boards for outside florist but could only find threads from a year ago...anyone more recent?? TIA

I used Jonathan's Flowers of Winter Park for my wedding last month. His prices were great and the flowers were beautiful. There were a few things that I would have done different - maybe had him put some ribbon on the boutenniers for example.

I would recommend him though. One word of advice - if you are going to go with an outside florist, I would put someone in charge of making sure they get to the right people, right spot, etc. because the planners don't really work with the outside florists. I thought that I would be able to sort everything out before I walked down the aisle but did not realize that a bride never has time!

If you have any questions about pricing, etc. PM me and I can tell you more :)

I used Amy from Blossoms Orlando. I loved everything she did, and her prices were so much better than Disney's! She was great to work with, she quickly responded to my emails and she called me before the wedding to work out timing and everything. I do agree with the above poster, if you're going with an outside florist make sure you have their contact number on you and that you assign someone in your party to keep track of them the morning of the wedding. I didn't have Amy's number, and I couldn't get in touch with her to let her know how to get into the Contemporary resort and my planner didn't help at all. Luckily Amy called me herself so it all worked out fine. :)

Here's the link to their website- http://blossomsorlando.com/

We are using 'Petals by Design' in Orlando. I have not had my VR yet and so cannot comment on how things turned out, but they have certainly seemed to understand my 'vision' and been very helpful. They came highly recommended by Karen (my planner) who has been involved in hundreds of weddings and VRs.

Thank you all for your recommendations I will check out all of them! :cool1:
And thank you for the heads up that the planners don't work with them on timing and how to get there. That's something I would have never thought of, I would have thought that the planner would have taken care of all that.

I got married two years ago and I used Flourish Productions in Winter Park. I think with Disney it's pretty much what your planner is willing to do for you. Mine absolutely worked with my florist even letting them come in prior to the wedding to measure the whitehall room for draping and our dance floor. I know they spoke on the phone more than once and everything went off without a hitch on the day of, I took care of nothing day of. Flourish was amazing to work with, prices were great and they did a complete table mock up and personal floral samples as well, something Disney will not do. I loved them. They went above and beyond at every turn.

We used Lee Forrest designs. Lee was absolutely amazing and the floral was gorgeous. It was much cheaper than Disney and he did a mock-up of the centerpieces. I just had to tell him when the spaces where available and he did everything else, I didn't have to worry about anything. He was one of my favorite vendors and I would highly recommend him.
