Can anyone tell me about the bakery you used if it was an outside bakery? Would you recommend them? Do you have a link to their site?

I already responded on FB but I am probably going to use Publix. :)

Another shout out for Heather at 'It's Tasty Too'!!! She did a brilliant job for us!!

I am in contact with them. It is just so hard when you can't get there for a tasting, although I am sure that would be yummy, er, I mean fun!

Were you charged a cutting fee of $5 per person at the Swan? Karen told me I would be and encouraged me to work with their bakery.

Karen told me the same thing. When I asked at the Garden Grove I was told that wasn't true... :confused3

Not sure what the deal is there. I figured out that it may be cheaper to go with the Swan's bakery (depending on your guest count) once you figure in the $5/pp cutting fee!!

I am going to find out how much what I have in mind will cost. I guess the cheaper price will win. I did find a post where Jo wrote saying she was charged for cutting and serving.

Sweetie - I did get charged for cutting and serving the cake. I think it was worth it as the servers were very good and efficient and since my cake from Heather was so cheap (under $100.00), it kind of offset the cost!!! However, there were only 14 of us. I think that a cake-handling fee is pretty standard. I think DFTW charges one even though they are handling their own cakes!!!
