Outrageous prices??

I just looked the TTS listings and saw OKW for $85/point and BCV for $94/point - both sale pending! What is going on with these prices?? We bought BCV on a bit of a whim 2 years ago for $73/point - I think this is the best investment I ever made, lol! But forget buying anymore...

They must be smaller contracts. My wife and I having been trying to purchase a smaller contract(50 points). We upgraded our request after ROFR scared us away. We received a call after about a month and a half of waiting that two 100 point contracts had come available at SSR. They both were snatched up at 85 per point. Fortunately, we found one and should be closing on ours in a few weeks.

I think most people are willing to pay a little bit more upfront for the security of passing ROFR.

The prices are only outrageous if you're buying, LOL. They are looking pretty good if you're selling!!

And if you're neither buying nor selling (like me at the moment), they still look good.

Glad my DH doesn't read these boards - if he did, we'd be arguing about why we shouldn't sell right now, LOL!

No need to tell/volunteer all available info if you're not directly asked - that's my motto, LOL! IMHO, it's best if I am the only one in the family who knows who T. E. Yeary is!

to me the rack rate prices that Disney is charging

bc - $415 to $485 spring break
bc - $345 to $425 - the rest of spring plus part of summer, plus the food/wine

this is just a room.... oh before taxes...

DVC Is a bargin!!!

Those prices also look crazy to people who have listings on the same board for only $80 pp! It's market driven, though. The market will only support what people will pay!

I will agree, it is certainly a bargain when you add up the rack rates!

That doesn't mean those are the prices that were agreed upon, my guess is they were not.

Actually, OKW has recently been ROFR'd on small contracts at $84, so $85 may be just about right.

Our $52 a point is well worth the investment! Never regretted it for a moment and use every last point every year! In fact, sitting in a 2BR at OKW as I read and write....

We have a sale pending for 150 points for Saratoga Springs (August use year). The listed price was $83 pp but we negotiated a sale price of $78 pp. Disney didn't exercise right of first refusal and we just received our documents to sign. Hurray!

I am very happy about this. I want the extra 12 years for SSR over the others, and we want an August use year and I think we got a good price. We are getting all the points for 2006 as well as 98 banked points for 2005. That was also important to us because in a lot of sales the sellers have used all their current years points as well as borrowed from the upcoming year.

Heck, I don't know if it was a bargain or not. I do know that my family has vacationed in ways that we could have never afforded(but DVC let us).
We started in '98 with 164 pints and now have 378 points at 3 resorts. I don't know if it was a bargain or not but I do know that it's been fun and feel like we have gotten our moneys worth when you consider rack rate............................spruce

That's nice...we've had 14 years at $52 a point. I'll be in my 90's when this runs out and I plan to have our children come throught it with us on the last day. By then, we will have something else as well! Plus we had park passes through 1999 so it was well worth it to us. Have not regretted it. It has become much bigger than we were told it would be but it is great!
