But I think we're going to try the new Cinema Cafe downtown this weekend and catch up on a movie that we've been meaning to see since it came out instead.

I want to see this film, but no offense, I do not like the Enzian at all. No parking and the seating is not conducive to theater viewing.

Ive only been once, but I really enjoyed the seating. Perfect for a date!

In that case you might like the Plaza Cinema Cafe downtown better.

We were expecting something similar to the Enzian (or to the Granada Movie grill that they used have in Dallas), and were a bit disappointed, but the seating is a lot more like a traditional movie theater.

The "cafe" part is that you can buy appetizers, pizzas, nachos and sandwiches etc at the concessions counter (with a menu font which is illegible at a distance, by the way). Then you have to shlep your food and beverage choices to the theater of your movie and fight to open the door. The seats are comfy and have very large arm rests with a "table" section at the end of each one. The table isn't big enough for the pizza box, so I'm not sure how you'd go about an appetizer and a sandwich.

Not a good set up at all, though apparently they've got a bar as well. We didn't see it, but it was all very confusing and not very intuitively designed as far as we were concerned.

We just got pretzels and sodas and ate elswhere after the movie; for which I'm glad, because I prefer to not have to balance my meal on my knee in the dark.

As I said, the seats are VERY comfy and they've got really wide arm rests, so there wouldn't be any fighting over them. We might go back to just see a movie, but not to eat.

And we LOVED Angels & Demons. There's a major scene in Piazza Novona. When in Rome we stayed very near there and ate in several restaurants that are seen in passing in the movie. VERY cool. I want to go back now.

To Rome that is, not the Plaza Cinema Cafe.

So I just got back from Outrage, and I was a bit disappointed.

While I certainly would agree with a lot of their points, I think it was presented from such a biased view, skewed so far in one direction, that it would alienate anyone with an open mind. Let alone win someone over of a different mindset.

Outrage is worth every second of time. See it.

Crist has to be next in line. He cannot continue to turn his back on the gay community. If he had done the right thing, Amendment 2 would not have passed.

Shave his beard. Do not even begin to consider him for 2012 POTUS.

Now, on a nicer note. The hummus there is scrummy.

Anyone thinking about going to see their presentation of Rigoletto or Otello? I think I've convince the wife to go. She took me to Jose Carerass for one of my birthday's when he was in NYC. It's a long story, but the short version is he did an encore longer than the entire concert. She is NOT a fan, but hey, Love is Love huh? Each time we surged to our feet to bring him back (well, we surged, she kind of stood in a daze) she would look bewildered and hope it was the last aria. He went on and on and on! LOL. The audience loved it!! Her response when we left the theatre was, "Where is the nearest bar? I NEED a drink!" LOL.

So, all that to say, we'll be going to one or the other, or maybe both.

We really enjoy the set up there and find it comfortable. The service is quite nice and we like the audience interaction with the films (at least the ones we've been to, of course).

Today was no exception. Outrage is filled with great one liners and the audience was either hissing (you have to be there when Georgie is featured ) clapping, booing, laughing or talking back to the film!

OH! And for those of you who care, they have Saranac on tap!

You're right. The food is much more important than the film (I say with not even a touch of sarcasm).

I've been plenty of times before and I have always enjoyed the food. This time I had dinner plans after the movie, so my friend and I split some nachos to snack on. It was my first time eating their nachos, and they were amazing. Best nachos I've ever had. Hands down.

edit: Though I should say for anyone who has had the nachos before, that they have been changed, and the cheese is now being served cold. The waiter guy warned us of this, but I thought they were still amazing.

The bartender at the eden bar outside didn't know how to make a Sex on the Beach cocktail, even though its one of the most common cocktails ever, so she looked it up in a book. It came out very different than I have ever had before, but was still enjoyable.

Now that thats out of the way... <rant warning>

My problem with the movie, is they use such flimsy stuff to accuse someone of being gay. Some random guy comes on camera and says he did something off-color to a senator, and now the movie is on a witch hunt. Any fame desperate person can find a camera and say whatever they want. This alone does not (in my book) substantiate proof of someone's sexuality. I could go out tomorrow and start proclaiming I had an affair with Obama, does this make him gay? Not so much. But in the movie, which is likely only going to be seen by crowds friendly to its point of view, this is enough for them to accuse someone.

I have mixed feelings on outing people to begin with, but to do it with little or no actual evidence, is a bit uncouth for me. Now ... take clay aiken. the guy who slept with him while he was closeted took the rag so he would have... dna.... proof. Thats solid! Out Clay, fine. But without something more concrete than some random dudes word, I just dont know... And that was the bulk, if not the entire movie.

Ya I had a feeling this movie was baised on rumors, and "third hand" stories. But I sill have my doubts about good ole Charlie! I have a feeling those with the real "dirt" on him are waiting for him to enter the national arena so they can cash in big time with their story.

Dirt on a Govenor doesn't pay nearly as much as dirt on a guy running for POTS!

Absolutely love the different perspectives! I found the film well researched and a good presentation of information given the general tendencies of society to disregard verbal recountings of events.

I'm not a supporter of outing someone at all. However, when you put yourself in the public arena and use that position to harm a given group while participating in some of the activities of that very group (which are the same activities that are scorned by society) that hypocrisy needs to be outed. For me that is the key, the hypocrisy being revealed rather than the person's being gay.

At any rate, it's funny you mention sex on the beach. We were at the bar at the end of the film and a person ordered one and the woman bartender mixed it up and served it no problem...
