I was under the impression that Premium outlets was on I drive close to Belz, however I have now been told that this is on Vineyard .... Any idea how to get there from I drive or Disney resorts using public transport.

Also, been told that Belz is shutting down, anyone got any idea when this isgonna be ?

Thanks

Vineyard is sort of off I drive (but the opposite end to Belz). A cab from DTD should not cost toom much as it is almost opposite the golf place behind TGIFs at crossroads, but on the other side of the interstate (10mins max from DTD). I don't know about Belz closing, but much of what is there is repeated at Premium, without having to drive between the 3 malls. If I had to choose one, it would be premium for choice, location & experience - good food court too.

Yeah read that Belz is closing on Simon's thread - I think it is this month that it closing (end of May?) - anyone know for sure? Shame really as I was looking forward to the Disney discount store but since there is one at Premium then I'll head here instead. Was going to hit this and the Florida Mall in the same day. Is the Florida Mall worth seeing folks?

thanks for the very quick responses !!

Clestine, just wondering if it would be cheaper to get a cab from Downtime Disney and if not any idea what the cost would be from All Star Movies ?

Im flying next week and hope to go to Belz as they have both a Skechers there and a Rockport so if anyone knows when its shutting that would help us to plan when to go,

cheers

I would say a cab from DTD would be cheaper than from AS resorts as it is the "right" side of Disney. Quite literally the route is DTD to crossroads where you turn right, turn left at next set of lights & the mall is on the right. Of course, in the UK this would be walkable, but I would say 10mins in a cab, from AS resort you'd probably need to double that. We cabbed it to DTD from the mall in 2003 & it was something like $10, possibly $15, but certainly no more. I wouldn't like to guess what the cost is from the resort though, although I'm sure guet relations could probably give you a rough idea so you could then decide on where to get the cab from. Go put the CC into meltdown!!!

I don't know about Rockport, but quite a lot a of the shoe shops in premium did sketchers (if that's any help)

I would agree - use the free Disney transport to the edge of the World (DTD) and get a cab from here - will be much cheaper. You'll not wait long on a bus to DTD or a cab at DTD either.

If you go to a taxi site (I think it might be Mears transport) you can type in pick up and destination points and they give you an online quote there and then.

I thought the Florida Mall was expensive but this was because we had been used to shopping in the outlet stores. It is a lovely shopping centre but it isn't a outlet centre.

It is a shame Belz is shutting down this month but a lot of people who have gone recently have said it looks very run down. At least when it is renovated it will bring it smack up to date and no doubt be as nice as it was to go to in the past.

Hi there :wave2:
Im heading to Florida next week. I didnt know that there was a discount disney outlet - Can someone tell me where it is please? What other outlets/malls are the best to go to?
:earsgirl:

We went to Florida Mall a few times when we were out there. Try to think of it as a normal shopping centre instead of an outlet mall like Belz so you get a mix of prices but no real discount stores. It's definately worth a visit if only just to look around at the different shops that we don't have in the UK. There is an excellent food court with a huge variety of fast food (Chick-Fil-A, Subway, Dairy Queen and dozens of others.) We found it very convenient to go there to eat on our way to the airport as it's inbetween WDW/Kissimmee/I-Drive and Sanford but it probably wouldn't be quite as useful if you were flying out of MCO.

It's a shame if Belz is closing down but if it's undergoing a renovation then it's probably a good thing. We went there for a few hours in September and it looked quite run down, especially in comparison with Florida Mall. The discount Disney store was fantastic, I got so many bargains!

There are two Disney outlet stores at Belz and also one at the Premium Outlets. The latter also has a Universal outlet store, Belz might too now but it didn't when I last visited.

Definitely buy Disney mementos from these shops, they are so much cheaper.

I'm disappointed to hear that Belz is closing... is this a permanent thing or is it a refurb? If so, when is it looking at re-opening?

hi all
sorry to sound a thicko  is the premium outlet the one near crossroads? and is this different to lake buena vista oulet?

thanks eve ::MinnieMo

Yep. Premium Outlets is the one near Crossroads. Travel south-east down SR 535 from Crossroads, go under I4 and then turn left.

Lake Buena Vista Outlets is a different outlet area even further down SR 535. You need to cross SR 536 and you'll find the LB Outlets shortly afterwards on your left. LB Outlets aren't as good as the Premium Outlets IMHO.

I'm currently posting on a topic on the budget board where someone has said that Belz have promotions listed throughout the year. Maybe the entire mall won't be closing but individual shops might do so. Anyone know details?

Im seriously going to miss that Chinese food in the food mall at Belz!!
Trips to Orlando will Not be the same!

We found Belz had lots of gaps (as opposed to Gaps, although my DS found them) and preferred Premium Outlets.

we couldn't find Vans cheaper than at home, there is a big Sketchers at Festival (if I remember right)
