Can anyone point me in the direction to get some info on the disney outlets?

Is the merchandise good? When do you recommend going during a trip?

My personal favorite is Orlando Premium Outlets, because it has a good selection and is close to WDW. Prime Outlets isn't bad if you don't mind the traffic on International Drive. I haven't tried the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores, but they are close to WDW too. We tend to visit them on a day when we aren't going to the parks. Usually mid-week on a 7-night trip. That way, we've had a chance to visit the parks and see what's currently available in the shops so we have something to compare when we hit the outlets.

All of them have a WDW outlet store with overstock WDW merchandise (25% to 70% off retail). I have generally found clothing and gifts that had the prior year's design on them. For example, in 2007 they may have had merchandise with the "Happiest Celebration on Earth" logo on it. Right now, they probably have a lot of holiday merchandise available. Of course, you may also run into some current merchandise that is also still in the parks. Truly, it is the luck of the draw. Good luck!

Carla gave you the goods. Regarding when to go, the Prime Outlets are on the far end of I Drive, so it'd be best to do that on a day when you're doing US or IoA. The Premium Outlets are in LBV, not far from DTD, but not far from SW off of IDrive. We usually hit this outlet twice if on a long trip; they restock a few times a week, so you never know. FWIW.

LBV Factory Store's Disney Outlet was not great. The Premium Outlet's is the real deal. When we were there, you even got the same bags as they were using at the stores in the parks. It's clearance merchandise from the park stores so you won't get the latest, greatest thing there but you can score real discounts on souvenirs. I got a tee and a tank with an embroidered Mickey for $5/each. Dh got a Mickey tie for under $10. Ds got this really cool Mr. Incredible that talks when you punch him for about $10. I did find the girls wear lacking there.

hey I like LBVFS - it has some good deals.

now not alot of stuff at all - but what they have is pretty good deals - or they were. need to go back and check it.

while the premier outlet did not have great deals - seems like this has changed so time to go back again.

getting 1/2 off disney stuff is not a great deal - sometimes the wdw hotels will offer that same price. now 70% or less is a good deal. that is what I got at LBVFS.

of course this requires you to know the Disney price. most of the time they do have the correct price on the item - but not always.

I try to get to each one and some times it is a hit some times a miss.

When we hit it is so great.

We also spend a lot at Hard Rock outlet. MY kids are older and love the place.

we have found tons of great stuff at the outlet store - it is hit or miss but you really can find a lot of stuff for cheap!!! Well worth our trip each time.

Do a search on outlet and you'll find plenty of discussion on the various outlet malls. I like LBVFO. They still have good prices. The old blez mall has been rebuilt and now is made up of high end stores. There are no longer good deals there but you can find nice walkways and fountains. To be fair, you can find some good deals at the character outlet but it used to be so much better.

I really like the Prime outlet myself, but mostly b/c they Disney store there had starter lanyards with 4 pins for only $12.95! That's how I got sucked in to pin trading.

Honestly though, I really didn't notice a huge difference b/t Prime and Premium outlets. They look very much the same, but I'm sure they have different stores. We like to hit all the Disney stores b/c you just never know what you may find.
