Outlets In Stateroom?

Travel irons are PROHIBITED onboard....DCL requests you use their irons in the laundry rooms

As far as outlets...there are regular outlets near the desk but anything with a big black box plug will not fit and you will neet a power strip or extension cord

Okay to everyone freak on me - - I took an iron on the cruise used it nightly too! I used the plug on the desk and put a towel on the coffee table
then when I was done I went to the sink got a cold wash cloth and kept applying it to the iron until it was luke warm or cold - then I place it under the sink in the tub bath room - my room stuardess never said a word even
wrapped the cord better one night...so I don't know how strict they are with this rule.

No freaking or flames, but why take the chance of bringing it....the reason they prohibit them is for safety reasons....as with anything....people can get by without things being said but that does not mean it should be done.

I for one would be upset if I was onboard with others who feel the rules do not apply to them and could be causing a safety issue.

You sound like you were very careful, but not everyone who brings one would be.

To the O.P.....call DCL and ask them specifically if they are still prohibited or if they are now allowed....that way you will know for sure and then whatever anyone else decides to do with that information is up to them and their conscience.

Irons were still prohibited a couple of weeks ago-personally I didn't find the irons in the laundry room bad at all. I never waited to use one.
