Outlet stores near LAX?

Are there any good outlet stores close to LAX?
I have a friend going down on a cruise next month.

The closest outlets that I am aware of closest to LAX is the Citadel Outlets and they are at least 30-40 minutes by car (east) of there. They do have quite a few stores there.

There is the Howard Hughes Promenade that is one freeway exit north of LAX (on the 405) that has Nordstrom Rack.
