Outer Banks Questions

We are planning a trip to the OBX, any lodging suggestions? Also, where is the best town to stay? Any other advice that you can offer would be great. We are planning on the first part on June, will it be warm enough?

Below is a link to the rental agencies of the outerbanks. Each one should have a search engine you can use to find what you're looking for. We stay in Nags Head mostly, and one time in Kill Devil Hills.

Duck is high end houses, but you have to drive to the beach, comparable a very congested area. The further south you go, the more sparse. Nags Head is a reasonable shopping area while Cape Hatteras or Avon are good beach areas.

We love Rodanthe for the beach and the remote environment. Avon is a little more populated and has restaurants. Rodanthe has some of the only houses actually ON
the beach or with really good beach views.

This is so NOT the case!!! We have rented nice townhomes in Duck several times within a few feet of the beach. There certainly are soundside homes and beachside homes in Duck. The highway seperates the two. But there are many different types of homes in Duck for every size and budget!!!

Now if you were talking about Pine Island - that's high end!!!!

I prefer Duck and Corolla. Although they are farther away from the shopping and nightlife in Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head, they seem so much more peaceful. We prefer the northern towns and very rarely go past Roanoke Island.

As for the weather, you will be fine. The ocean temps may still be a bit cooler but you shouldn't encounter the sweltering heat!
