Outer Banks - First timer

My boyfriend and I will be going down to Kill Devil Hills for the first time. We are staying at the Days Inn Mariner. Is there anything we shouldn't miss? Any restaurant/activity recommendations?

Climb to the top of Jockey's Ridge at sunset. It's free and a great view.

One of our favorite casual, not too expensive restaurants is the Run Down Cafe at milepost 1, I think. And Elizabeth's Cafe in Scarborough Faire towards Duck is very nice but pricey.

We were just there a few weeks back...

There are tons of things to see and do, and a lot of really good places to eat. Some are a little pricey, but make sure you pick up the discount flyers when you get there. The flyers are everywhere and you can get some good price cuts. We stayed in Duck, but went back and forth between KDH, KH, and Corolla. Enjoy!!!

Forgot to mention about the PP suggestion for the Run Down Cafe - good food/prices. It's on Beach Rd. at mile post 1.
