I need some expert advice. We almost got an Illuminations outdoor seat at the Rose & the Crown last year but we showed up a little late and it wasn't possible. I want to try it again this year with a Sat night 7pm Spectromagic and a weeknight Illuminations viewing. I'm not sure about Spectomagic , I thought I heard you can see it from the porch at Tony's. Anyone who knows how to pull this off and what kind of reservation time/request I should make please let me know. Thanks.

Make your ps for Rose and Crown for about 7:30pm, then arrive at around 6:30 and let them know that you specifically want an outside seat along the water.

It's hard to get seating for Spectromagic, because no matter where you're sitting, people will stand in front of you.

But, maybe someone else has had better luck with this than we have? :)

We actually did this at Tony's back in March, 2001. We had already seen Spectro a couple of nights earlier so didn't mind if the view was obstructed. It is definately an obstructed view. We sat on the veranda and my 3 children stood up next to the railing, however, there were people standing 5-6 deep along the street. We could see the top half of everything, but not the entire float. The walking characters were very hard to see.

This worked for us (since we had just seen it). We enjoyed the music and the excitement. But, if it's the first time I had ever seen Spectro (or even the 1st time on that particular trip), I would get there early and get a spot along the parade route.

Good luck and happy vacationing!

I'm trying to figure out the timing to eat RC and see illuminations. Illumination is at 9:00. What time should our PS be? And then we should arrive an hour ahead of the PS?? Is that just to put in our request for an outdoor seat and then plan to return, or should we be there an hour early for seating?
