Outdoor Movies @ AS resorts.

I heard that the AS resorts show Disney movies outside. Is this correct and if so is it every day or selected days. Also does each AS resort have it the same day or do they take turns. Or am I just crazy. Any info would be great!

All-Star Music has a nightly Pool Movie and a daily Activities program at the Calypso Pool.Since the All-Stars are "sister" Resorts,Sports and Movies Guests can enjoy the Pool Movies and Activities Program at Music also.

We've stayed at all three All-Stars, and the only one we've seen with movies is All-Star Music.

We were at Music last week, and it was great. They had activities at the pool all day long, and they let the kids vote on which movie they would watch that evening.

The movie screen is brought out quickly, and honestly it looked like a giant inflatable toy! It was placed between the pool and the entrance to the main building. It is a "rear-projection" screen so you can see it from either side.

Last Friday, they had a Wii game set-up and kids were playing games for an hour or so. At 9:00 they played the movie, "Bolt." We actually watched some of it from the pool.

That was an awesome experience, and just another reason to love Disney!

This is just was I was going to ask about. The past 2 times we stayed at ASMu they had activities all day with the schedule posted each day. They also had the nightly movie. I guess all is still there or just the movie? Thanks for posting about this. We will be there in 3 weeks!!

Everything was there last week. They had the games, the dancing, the karaoke, etc. almost all day long.

Thanks for your answers. We're staying at AS movies but thought this would be a nice thing to do on our off days. Or if the park close do to crowds (fingers crossed!)

Can you hear this from other parts of the resort? The reason I chose Music over the other two All Star resorts was because I'd read it was the quieter resort.

No, the movies that are played are not that loud. Neither is the music or karaoke. In fact, you can't even hear it all of the way around the pool. Pretty much, you can only hear them in about a 50 foot radius. So, if you want to watch the movie, then you need to sit near the screen.

All-Star Music is pretty quiet. We were in the Broadway section which was very quiet. There was a High School Marching band staying there at the same time, and they were very quiet and respectful. I wish I knew what school they were from because I'd like to send their band director a letter to compliment him (and his students).

All-Star Sports and Pop Century are the only hotels on property where we have had trouble with noise. Movies and Music are great, and will always be our first choice for values.

We stayed at the Sports last year, and had no problem with noise whatsoever. And there were some basketball teams staying there at the time.

You can run into a loud group of people at any Disney resort. We had loud neighbors at CSR one year. It is just luck of the draw.

That's good to know. I expect we'll be a long way from the main pool as we haven't booked a preferred room. (P.S. We've stayed at Sports twice without noise problems.)
