Disneyland newbie booking dining reservations. Can you be seated outdoors for Lamplighter and Tortilla Jo? Are there any outdoor character meals? Does Trader Sam take reservations for outdoor seating? Really appreciate any advice. Would like to experience Disneyland dining highlights while avoiding indoor dining.

You can do a lot of outdoor dining. I haven't been recent enough to know for sure, but Tortilla Jo had outdoor seating. I don't know of any outdoor character meals and even the indoor ones seem to not have characters right now (Goofy's Kitchen). I haven't been to Lamplighter, so someone else will answer that.

Trader Sam's never took reservations when I've gone there, but I have never had a hard time getting outside seating. I think the longest we ever waited was about 5 minutes. Normally, it was walk up for us, but of course, that was before Covid.

Carnation Cafe has some outdoor seating and normally you cannot request if you sit indoors or outdoors, but I wouldn't hesitate to ask. If they are taking reservations, I would book and then ask at the hostess stand for outdoor. You may have to wait longer, but it's worth it, imo.

The vast majority of places to eat are outside. In some cases, you have to go indoors to order and get your food, but all the seats are outside. If you want to avoid going inside at all, there's a large food court in DCA that has Asian and Mexican food. Hungry Bear in DL does everything outside.

Catal and Uva Bar and Ralph Brennan have outdoor seats in DTD.

I was wondering about this, too! Haven't been to DLR since Galaxy's Edge opened, and wondering if there is any outdoor seating at Oga's? And does anyone know if Storyteller's has opened up any outdoor seating, or would the only outdoor character meal be Plaza Inn?

No outdoor seating at Ogas or storytellers.

Trader Sam's will start taking reservations on August 11th for first reservations on August 15th. Unsure if you can specify but always request.

Plaza Inn is best bet for outdoor dining for characters.

Lamplight Lounge downstairs is more open air seating and mostly outdoors so should be fine. Otherwise can do their "boardwalk dining" , walk up , it's it's version of the lounge upstairs open air. No reservations taken , first come first serve.

Just to followup on this and no judgements , however if being cramped indoors concerns you at all just be aware you may be uncomfortable due to little to no social distance in rides and queues. Njst more of an FYI :)

Thank you so much, this is all really helpful! My thinking is that at least in rides and queues we can wear masks, but that's a no-go at restaurants, so I will release my Storyteller's and Oga's reservations. If anyone is going September 7-10 and wants them, I'm happy to coordinate!

What days do you have storytellers and Ogas ? I have some reservations but might work better for me. I arrive Sept. 9th.

I currently have Oga's on the 8th and Storyteller's at 10:45 on the 9th and 10th- I'll be releasing all 3 of these, so just let me know!
