Does anyone know if there is a particular loop or set of loops that is historically more prone to be inhabited by folks that like to set up outdoor holiday displays?

I have seen pictures over the years and I would love to see some of these displays in person. We are going to be at WDW in December and I think my mom would like to see them for herself. She loves outsider art just as much as we do.

:santa: TIA

No.. Just pick a loop and you will see decorations.. It used to be not everyone decorated. Now I would say very few do not decorate. You'll see them in every loop. Some maybe more than otheres.. but, they'll be there.

Thanks so much for the helpful and very speedy response. I think I found a way to fill up some time on one of our "off" nights now. :santa:

People come and go everyday and bring new decorations, so every nite you see something a little different. :thumbsup2

So who wants to take me and DD on a spin in their golf cart so we can go looping and see the pretty lights too?;)

In my opinion, the most elaborate displays are typically in the 300, 700 and 1200 loops. The 700 loop was the loop where Samantha Brown started when she visited the Fort for last year's Christmas special on the Travel Channel. She travelled from there to the 300 loop. Unfortunately, the wife of the couple who historically has had the big display at site 301 died last year. I am not sure if the husband will carry on the tradition without her.

But, there are displays all around.

From what I hear Jay Howard will not be back this year. His wife's name was Donna. Knowing Disney, they wouldn't leave that site empty for one season in memory of her. The first time I saw Jay setting everything up I jokingly asked him if WDW charged him extra for the electricity. They must've had 100 inflatables over there not to mention all the little things here and there.

First, its so very sad to hear about Mrs Howard. I have never met them, but their obvious love of Disney and the Holiday season makes me feel a connection with them, and my wife's name is also Donna. During our last trip, Christmas week 2006, we camped just a few sites from them in the 300 loop. It was such a pleasure to walk by their site everynight and just stand there for a while, it really was a great display. Mr. Howard, if you read this, thanks for your fantastic Christmas decoration display and I extend my sincere sympathy for your loss.:flower3:

Hopefully someone will get site 301 and put up a beautiful display in honor of Donna.
