Out of the mouths of babes - Funniest things heard/overheard at Disney parks?

We took our son(then4) on TOT. He was OK until it started to drop, then took a death grip on his dad. When we got off(we were afraid he was going to start crying) he looked us both straight in the face and said "I am not going on that again." Very matter of factly and to the point. He is now 8 and we still can't talk him into riding! But, the picture is priceless.

:rotfl: I have a picture of my dd riding a boat ride at Sea World(I think it's Poseidon?) and the look on her face is hysterical. I had tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard when I picked up the pictures. She never forgave me for putting her on that ride and she to this day talks about how she will never ride it again.

She gets so mad that we laugh at her face that I can't put the pic out on display at home. I'm so glad we have it though, pics like that really are priceless.

I had to have emergency gall bladder surgery one week before we went to DL, but we went anyway because everything was non-refundable. So, I couldn't go on much of anything and was relegated to watching Dad and my almost 3 yo nephew. We decided to go on the storybook land canal boats. My stomach muscles still weren't working and I couldn't get up out of the boat. My dad has no strength and couldn't get me out. So, my nephew is on the side yelling, "Aunties stuck! Auntie's stuck!" and laughing hilariously. Two cm's got me out of the boat, but the whole way back to Star Tours (which is a LOOOOONG walk), he was yelling "Auntie got stuck in the boat! Auntie got stuck in the boat!" Now, he was on vacation for a week in California and I was only there one day, but when he went back to day care and was asked how he liked his trip, you can guess it. He told everybody how Auntie got stuck in the boat! Sigh! Almost a year later, he remembers this story!

Little Boy: "Mom, can we go swimming at the pool in the Magic Kingdom?"
Mother: "Honey, there is no pool at the Magic Kingdom"
Little Noy: "Is it indoor or outdoor?"

My DD9 is very petite and was just tall enough for Rockin' Rollercoaster last fall. Our second (or third) time in line, we ended up having a chat with a nice British family in front of us,. Their largish 7/8 year old daughter was gravely concerned that our small-looking daughter was going on RNRC and was trying to warn her about how intense it was. It was sweet listening to this girl in her lovely accent trying to dissuade my older/daredevil/experienced DD from riding!

When my now 12 yo DS was 3 we were in Innoventions at some kind of home theatre presentation. The CM was interacting with everyone as part of the show and asked DS a question. I don't even remember the question, but I remember the response "FART!"

And I completely understand the Percy thing...we had a do named Percy that would run off constantly. One day we were chasing him down the street with DS screaming "My Percy, My Percy" using the other word of course. Still cracks me up everytime I think about it.

:lmao: Love the Percy story...our next door neighbor is 3 and has the same "problem" saying Percy...my DH, his dad and their other buddy find this hysterical.

While we're not there yet, we are taking our Dniece and Dnephew in 48 days (not that we're counting) and they are driving their parents nuts. They called DH and I last week to let us know that Dnephew would be riding the teacups with me (I HATE the teacups...used to love them...then I turned 30) and DH (who finds it quite funny to spin them off their saucers in an attempt to see my Mouse waffles on the pavement) would be taking our Dniece as she wants to spin and he doesn't. that's all they wanted to tell us.

While watching Turtle Talk:

Crush: "Okay little dude, what's your question for me?"
Little Boy: "Uhh, hi Crush, uhhh GGGRRRRRAHHHHHHHHH!"
Crush: *Awkward stare* "It's okay little dude, sometimes Squirt gets excited too."

On our way to WDW last year, we were driving through Atlanta at night. DD4 looked wide eyed at all the big buildings that were lit up and said "Ooooo, is this...Disney World?" Dh and I thought it was adorable. My response was "No, if Disney World was this close we would go more often!" It was priceless!

I was on Pirates and was sitting behind a mother and her daughter, who must have been about 6 or 7. Anyway, the girl took a shining to me as I was leaving the ride. She grabbed my hand, told me her name, followed by "But I'd rather be called Ariel.", then looked up at her mum, crossed her arms, and rolled her eyes.

Quite a few years ago, we were on Jungle cruise, and the host told everyone that "all the bad children on the ride end up having to sing in It's a Small World". Thinking nothing of it, a few days later we walked through Fantasyland, and stopped in front of Its a Small World. Seeing this, our 3 year old son jumped out of the stroller, screaming that "i'm a GOOD boy, i don't go there". People passing by must have thought we were punishing him.

When we went to Disney a few years ago my son had not been on Kali River Rapids yet so we promised him that he could ride it. He was soooo excited, but every time he would talk about it he would say Kali Ripper Rappids. So we have a very cute video of a little boy missing his two front teeth saying how much he loved " Kali Ripper Rappids". Truth be known, we all still call it that!:rotfl2:

I was waiting in the France pre-show in Epcot. A young girl around six turns to her mother and exclaims, "I don't want to visit any more states!"

A couple of years ago I was in Cali with my best friend visiting her sister and we decided to take her niece to DL for the day. We decided to take her on ToT for her first time (I think she was about five) and while we were waiting to go in the lobby area she looked over and saw the doll on the couch and was said "Oh no! Look! Some little girl left her doll!" She was so concerned and we just had to keep reassuring her that the little girl would be back to come pick up her doll. :) Also after we got off the ride the conversation went a little something like this:
Us: "Did you like the ride?"
Her: "Yes"
Us: "Do you want to go on it again?"
Her: "No...."
That's us three there in the front :rotfl2:

walking in Epcot from Future World to World Showcase... in front of us a couple were consulting their map while their little boy was jumping up and down - where's the small world, the dolls that sing? The parents were consulting their map and concluded it must be in the America land - where else would they put it?

They were not of a different culture - so we politely as we were passing told them it was in the Magic Kingdom, not in Epcot...

They politely informed they knew this, and that's why they were walking over to the Magic Kingdom America... pointing to the area on their map...

DH and I then realized they were pulling a fast one on their kid!!

Our older daughter finally hit the 40" mark for her surprise WDW trip for her 5th bday. Her first "big kid" ride was BTMR. We get on and she's all excited until she looks up front. She started asking me and everyone around us "who's driving this train? I can't see the engineer!" She seemed to for forget about that during the ride (b/c she was laughing hysterically) but at the end, she turned to me and loudly proclaimed "mommy, I don't think anybody was driving our train!" It was a riot b/c the way she said it- you'd think she thought it was a mistake and we were lucky to get off the ride unharmed. A man behind us decided to play along and help embrace the magic even more by remarking how amazing it was that the train did such a good job w/o a driver. So, of course DD5 suggested we try letting our cars do the same thing. Ahhhhhh- to be young and embrace every level of the magic. :wizard:

When anyone asks about funny kid stories here on the DIS I've posted this story about my grand daughter. I still think it's funny though: The first time I took my dare devil grand daughter down there, I took her dad with us. She really wanted to ride RnR, but my son told her no. Knowing he was not fond of anything that goes upside down or jerks you around, I told him I would ride with her, but he said no that she'd be too scared. She got angry and informed him she wouldn't be scared, he was the ride chicken, not her (which was true:rotfl:). Anyway, I took her back alone exactly a year later for some GM-GD time. As soon as she found out we were going, she immediately started talking about RnR and how much she wanted to ride it. I asked my son and he said I could take her on it if I wanted to, but she'd be scared. My GD again reminded him that she loved coasters and would not be scared. I called my exdaughter in law one day to get a consent to travel with my GD and asked her about it. She just laughed and told me to take her on it, because unlike my son, she knew my GD was like her and would love it. Anyway, the day we went to DS, we were in the front of the line at rope drop and walked right behind the CMs that walk you back to the ride. We were one of the first ones on. I asked my GD if she was absolutely sure she wanted to ride and she gave me a disgusted look and told me she had been waiting a whole year to ride RnR and nothing was keeping her off the ride. As soon as we got seated she excitedly reached up and pulled the restraint down and then started looking for a seat belt. When I told her it just had the overhead restraint, she suddenly gave me a terrified look and screamed, "What do you mean there's no seat belts?":rotfl: A CM walked by just then checking everybody's restraints and my GD gave her a panicked look and said, "There's no seatbelts on the ride!". The CM told her she'd be fine and the coaster took off. My GD screamed throughout the ride that she was falling out. After we got off, I asked her if she was OK and she said "Yeah, it wasn't that bad". I asked if she wanted to ride it again and she thought for a moment, then asked if she could think about it. She was really quiet, not saying another word walking through the gift shop and out that tunnel like exit. However, just as we got outside where they have that concrete area where people sit waiting for family members, she turned, put both hands on her hips and screamed at the top of her very loud lungs: "Why did you let me ride that thing? I could have been killed. Geez, I thought you loved me!" I reminded her that she had been asking to ride that ride for a year and that she insisted on riding it. She gave me a disgusted look and said, "What do I know? I'm a kid. You're supposed to be the adult. My mom is not going to like this.":rotfl2::rotfl2: I reminded her that her mom and dad both had said it was her decision and she could ride it if she wanted to and she had insisted even after I had warned her. She mumbled something about stupid adults and kids might as well raise themselves, and stalked off. She was like 8 or 9 years old at the time. lol Everyone sitting on those little half walls, waiting for their family members were cracking up laughing.

Thats hilarious!! Reminds me of my 6yo DD - more of a "mini adult" than a child...
