Last week Target had a digital camera for $29.99 on sale but they were sold out. I've been calling EVERY morning when they open up to check if it came in on the truck and was told no! Looks like my daughter will be getting a photo of it (I have a raincheck)

Anyone else something they need and it's sold out?

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Did you try checking Wal-Mart to see if they had the same item? You could have taken the Target ad there and gotten them to price-match it.

I bought DD a 29.99 digital camera from Target last year..the quality of pics was HORRIBLE.
I highly recommend bumping up to $50-60.

I got a rain check from Target for a dvd player that has yet to arrive on that infamous truck. It's been 3 weeks now. This is the second time I've gotten a rain check from Target where the item never shows up. The first item was a Star Wars Lego set that was on sale. It was months before they sold that Lego set again, and by that time I had given up waiting and bought it elsewhere.

I HATE that. I have lost count of how many stores I have stopped at on Sun or Mon to get a sale item and they are gone. I think if your going to have a sale item have more than 5 on the shelf. Its happened a lot at Target and Kmart to me this year. Drives me crazy....Its the same for me on Black Friday...Stores have awsome deals and only have 2, no wonder they create mass hystaria and people get trampled. Although now that you can get most doorbusters on the internet i think that helped a lot.

But yes that drives me nuts :)

My thought exactly, however like a PP said, I would bump up to a better camera.

If your daughter is very young than the cheap camera is okay, but if she is a little older, you'll just be replacing it in a year or two.

I feel for you. I didn't have any problem with Target this year, but that happened to me a few times at Toys R Us. The silver lining was though, I wound up finding even better deals on the items. It took some work and patience, but on-line stores came through for me and saved me $$$ too.

OP here I never knew about price matching thank you. Unfortunately though the ad was last week and I just Walmart and they said it has to be a current ad :(

I was thinking of getting a better camera but my DD being a kid I didn't want to pay alot and then have her break it.

They're called loss leaders. They offer a limited number of deeply discounted items at a loss. It gets you in the store in the hopes that you'll buy other full price items while you're there.

Unfortunately for most retailers, their "loss leaders" serve only to make most of us leave the store empty-handed and with a bad taste in our mouths, causing them to lose future business in this troubled economy.

I typically love shopping at Target, but they have done a really poor just of stocking things recently. And not just toys and "hot" items either. I went in a couple of weeks ago for some grocery items that were on sale. It has been alomst 3 weeks since I first looked and they have YET to restock!!

Why not just use the raincheck for that percentage off a different DVD player?? I believe it gives you that option.

I have given up on even getting rainchecks anymore. Seems the item never comes in again or way after the fact.

OP- i bought a 39.99 back up and got the raincheck but I am returning the back up because I just saw a Kodak easy share 8.0 marked down today to 49.99- much better quality and if you go thru AAA you get an additional 10% off. It ships for free today with delivery on xmas eve. My fingers are crossed!

Target is horrible with keeping shelves stocked with sale items.

On Sunday, I went at 9 a.m. to Target purchase a Roomba that was advertised in that day's paper. The shelf was empty. I asked a clerk to check. He said there were more in back. Another woman who was nearby, said she wanted one too. After a long wait, he comes back and says he only has one. The other woman grabs the Roomba out of his hand and leaves. The clerk looks apologetic but there's nothing he can do. All I could think was that she obviously needs to clean her house more than I do... :confused3

You have to understand, stores are scared to stock much in this economy. They had to do their Christmas buying in the spring/early summer, and they had NO idea what the shoppers would be spending at that point. Hopefully, next year, this will all be a memory!!

I'm having a rough time with Best Buy :rotfl2:

Yesterday evening I purchased a video game for in-store pickup that is $19.99 in the ad this week. I received the "Your order is ready for pickup" email at 9pm last night.

At 2pm this afternoon I arrived at the store to find that they did not have my wii game AND they were out of stock. After 45 minutes of them looking everywhere, talking to the manager etc, they finally listened and took my phone number. I told them to call when the game was put aside.

NOBODY called me and NOBODY answers the phone at the store, it just disconnects. I paid with a gift card that I want to use up because of their horrible service. I price matched the game at target just in case Best Buy falls through.

I'm waiting till the rest of the house falls asleep and then I'm going back over there to figure out what's going on. Unfortunately, we have over 2 feet of snow on the ground and a lot of ice. Best Buy is on my poo list :sad2:

I have been waiting for the Crayola glow dome to come in. It was a last minute addition to DD7 wish list. A couple weeks ago Target had it for $18. They were sold out so we got a raincheck. I figure I will wait and end up getting it for her from the Easter Bunny. I doubt they will get it in before Christmas.Everystore around here is out of stock so she'll have to wait!!!

Except they don't restock regular stuff either like food.:confused3

I could have written this post last Friday! I understand there was only 1 more day of the sale but Target had NOTHING on my list!

$10 comforters - nope
monopoly city - nope
new connect 4 - nope
barbie scooter - nope
axe gift set - nope

FYI...the customer service lady at my Target said they tell people they didn't get whatever the item in question is on the truck b/c they don't want to be "unfair" to the people who wait outside. She said they've had lines at the door almost every day for the past 2 weeks.
