Out of State Disneyland Trip Planning Thread

I don't believe it is possible for Disney to require masks ONLY indoors, and to let them go outdoors. Because people would be constantly putting them on and taking them off and frankly, way too many people would forget to put them on again indoors. Or get upset when they are reminded. So either they will continue to require masks at all times - which is what I expect - or they won't require them at any time.
It’s what WDW is doing now, so they’d absolutely do it. 🤷‍♀️

And so far all the trip reports have been really positive about folks complying when they go indoors. People are so thankful to not have to wear them outdoors! I know I am- I was dreading wearing them outside in the hot weather when we go. Wearing them indoors is a perfectly fine compromise to me. We might just put our masks on lanyards so we can slip them off and on.

I don't understand what you mean by this because this is exactly how it is at Walt Disney World.

Somehow they‘re managing at WDW.

Ghaly also said that there will be no restrictions on travel from various other parts of the country — are you listening, Disneyland?

He said there may be some restrictions on travel from various hard-hit parts of the globe, however.

I imagine we'll get an announcement soon. Either way, it's definitely a done deal in my eyes and I'm not worried one bit about our August trip.

If anyone has picked Southwest for their trips they're really rocking the post-COVID world. I originally booked dirt cheap flights for really early in the morning/inconvenient times and this morning I was able to change them to a later flight with no change fees or fare difference.

For our trip next weekend (!!) Ive bought tickets for the Bowers museum and booked our surf lessons. We plan to eat breakfast at Sugar Shack in Huntington Beach but I’m open to suggestions for breakfast spots or other fun HB area things to check out.

Oooo how fun! We're going to do a beach day on our trip and we sometimes we go to HB... following for more ideas! There's that surf museum there but I haven't checked it out before. Last time I mainly shopped so need to avoid that this time around lol!

Has anyone figured out their airport to hotel transportation yet? I was going to go with Karmel shuttle (just two of us so not too pricey) but Uber would probably be cheaper. I'm just nervous about all that surge pricing chaos I was reading about- maybe by the time we can all go it'll be more 'normal'?

We are coming from Connecticut, so this is a big trip for us. My wife and kids have never been to the West Coast. I last came in 2005. We fly into San Diego for a couple days (the Zoo, wife wants to do a canyon hike) and then we drive up to USH for a day followed by five nights at the Grand Californian (just waiting for the official GO for tix). Then we fly up to San Francisco for 3 nights then home. Getting excited! Just want those park reservations and dining!

We have a rental car from San Diego to the Grand Californian and then will rely on Uber to the airport and in San Francisco.

Sounds like an exciting trip! When you’re up in SF, you’ll be in my neck of the woods. What do you have planned for up here?

That’s going to be the low key portion of the trip. Definitely Alcatraz and visit the Golden Gate. Maybe the Walt Disney Museum. And eat a lot lol. Any recommendations?

That sounds like a great plan. I’m sure you know, but get tickets to Alcatraz ahead of time. If you have time, the Academy of Sciences is awesome and the De Young Museum is right across the street from that, if you enjoy things like that.

Definitely try the clam chowder - and the Boudin Bakery if they’re open.
