out of curiosity....dry erase boards

We usually hang the one we get from our travel agent, but don't make a special effort to go out and buy one. With the app on the phones now, it's much easier to keep in touch than before. However, it's still nice to get notes from those not in our party from time to time, and for the kids and teens to say hi or leave messages :)

We used the one our TA gave us. Not to pass notes to each other, but just for fun. Each night, I would write the highlights of the next day on it and draw a little picture (ex: Castaway Day! We get to snorkel with stingrays and play at the beach today! With a little pic of a stingray and a beach umbrella). It hung inside our room on the door to adjoining cabin and my son would read it when he woke up every morning and got very excited.

We just got off the Fantasy 3 weeks ago. We saw few here the there with messages on them

We got a couple of DCL magnetic ones a few years ago as a CC cabin gift. But we never used them on the ship. We use them at home all the time though. Usually to count down until our next cruise. :)

The wave phones are how we communicate with the kids. And we use the Navigator pages and highlighters to keep track of what we want to do.
We like to turn our phones off and put them in the safe for the duration of the cruise.

I imagined they have gone the way of the beeper....BUT, we did get some cute notes from Mickey, Donald, and Goofy for my DGD 6 years ago....

We made some for our FE gift and thought they would be so useful, especially since we had 3 separate rooms in our party.....yea, the only thing it was used for was for strangers to leave us little hi's and what not. Point being, I will not be handing those out for our next FE gift.

does anybody actually use/hang these anymore?

We typically have when sailing in a group so you could tell people where you were when not in the room. However now that the Navigator app has texting I don't think we will anymore.

we brought one last year and enjoyed seeing the notes left on there by our FE friends, neighbors, and random strangers :)

We absolutely love them. And yes, we still use them. We never carry around the wave phone nor our real phone. Don't want to be connected to a device on vacation.

Same here. My phone goes in the safe and remains there until the end of the cruise. We use a dry-erase board on the door inside the room to leave messages. We don't feel the need to be in constant contact, but the board at least lets us know where everyone is if we need to track someone down (has yet to happen).

Love the one I got in FE but it fell off the door if I didn't close it very gently. No cell phone for me on board. That's why I'm on vacation!
