Hi! I was wondering if anyone has used outside vendors for flowers and centerpeices?? Our wedding is in 4 months and all of our proposals with $$ have come in~ our bottom line is ALOT more than anticipated ($13K over!) so we thought we could cut money in the floral department by using outside vendors? also, has anyone brought their own centerpiece vases or candle votives b/c it seems like it would be less than they are asking? any help would be greatly appreciated ~ its time to get the AX out!!!!!!!!! or else we may just elope!! :faint:

i've heard of other dis brides using outside floral vendors, i have yet to do my floral proposal with disney so not much help there. but silk flowers could also be a savings.

but we have decided to do our own centerpieces. we purchased round glass vases, candles, shells & decor items for 8 table centerpieces for our ariels reception. we had a very personalized idea of our centerpieces, with individual table themes like mermaids, atlantis & finding nemo with those decor items & candles on a silvery round mirror with the vases in the middle with shells & candles inside. they look great. we are doing these & it cost us around $150, instead of the $75 per centerpiece with disney that wasnt the centerpiece design we wanted.

money really isnt to much a problem for us now, but i'm sure theres many places you can cut the expenses, talk to your em about cost, i'm sure she has some suggestions or ask here. food is one of the largest $ categories besides our guest accomodations & tickets (which we are purchasing for them) so maybe look there maybe just soda & wine instead of hard liquor, cut the extra dessert just have a wedding cake, etc.

best of luck!

My wedding is in less then 4 weeks, and I am using an outside vendor! She is great and her prices are fantastic (1/2 or less then what Disney was asking). If you would like her name and number, send me an email, I am more then happy to share the info. I have also given her name to other brides, and they also have booked her!

I would give it to you here, but I am at work, and I dont want to forget, so send me an email and I will get that to you.

We used Charming Events for our FTW.

Our CE page This link is to the page Emily made of our floral. She took the photos with her camera phone, but as you can see, she did a wonderful job! There are better photos linked off of my website, as well as my recaps.

We spent approx $1000 with her, but she had since raised her minimium expenditure to $1500, as she comes in from Winter Park with the flowers.

I purchased all our centerpiece items at the Michael's in Orlando and Emily placed them for us.

Other florists to consider are:

There are lots of others, but those are the 3 most popular outside of Disney. Do keep in mind, that they may not all come in below Disney's pricing, either. Your best bet is to create a listing of what you want and contact each vendor, asking for a quote and input as to what they think of the design and any inputs to make it better/less expensive, etc.

Best of luck!
