I also in the same Kleenex free club! Those weird sizes would crop off the tops or sides even in Disney frames.Be be honest, I won't be shedding any tears. We got some decent photos now and then, but their weird borders and odd sizes made life difficult. I also felt that the price was far too much compared to a photo package in the parks. I hope that DCL takes things in house. While the photos at WDW can also be a little hit or miss, we've had much better luck with them those on the ships.
I know some people really liked the borders and that's cool, but yes, an opt out would have been great. I had one completely obscure my daughter's face once. Thankfully, they were able to send me a copy of that one without the border, but they said that they couldn't do it for all of them. *insert eye roll here* If I remember correctly, WDW has optional borders and embellishments that users can add, should they so choose.I also in the same Kleenex free club! Those boarders were cheap cartoon looking. Formal night was better, but so still super distracting from family in formal wear. Can’t we have just a tasteful flourish like each ship? Or just please please please let us opt out of the boarders?
I don't believe Shutters employees are Disney employees. They are hired/trained by the photo service company DCL has onboard. Yes, they wear Disney approved costumes, and wear Disney nametags, but they are an independent contractor to my knowledge. To be honest, I'm not even sure what value mycruisephotos.com adds. All they seemed to do was act as a front end for the DCL photographers. Shutters is staffed by DCL employees, and any physical photos you purchase are printed while on-board. We usually get the digital package because my wife can't pass up a character photo.
Perhaps they just contract the front-end website, but it seems Disney would be perfectly able to add that just like any room packages/decorations.
Interesting. I was unaware of that. So, more like the staff in the gift shops associated with a particular vendor...I don't believe Shutters employees are Disney employees. Their name tags were even different. They were the same shape, but they had red writing and no disney logo or the word disney anywhere on them. I suspect that was meant to be an indicator that they weren’t actually disney employees.wear Disney nametags
This is correct. Same with the Spa employees.Their name tags were even different. They were the same shape, but they had red writing and no disney logo or the word disney anywhere on them. I suspect that was meant to be an indicator that they weren’t actually disney employees.
I did after every single cruise. I always made to let them know my feelings on the subject regardless of if I purchased the plan or not.I wonder if enough people have told Disney that the borders are more of a deterrent than a selling point.
