Our family includes me, DH, DS 12 and DD 4. We have been to Disney couple times, but this year we got AP. Already got two trips down, more to come.

Dinning is always a big part of our trip. We are adventurous eaters and would like to try different type of cuisines. DH and I were born and raised in China. Our kids are used to eating homemade Chinese dishes and I am a very decent cook. So our family are Asian food snobs. We eat almost everything. DS12 hasn't ordered from a kid's menu since he was three. DD4 is the picky eater in our family but we encourage her to try everything at least one bit.

I am not good at posting pictures so will just list all restaurants here with some quick review. I will also try to give each restaurant a grade (0-10 scale) and bold the dishes that I recommend. I will update this post as we took more trips.

End of September Trip with Deluxe Dinning Plan - Part 1

A quick review of DxDP: Definitely too much food for us and we have pretty good appetites. It's also a lot of planning between getting to two sit down meals a day and arranging fast passes, which I actually enjoyed to certain degree. I am glad we did the plan once, probably won't do it again.

1. Jiko (Grade:8.5)

We ate at Jiko twice this trip. 95% of the meal turned out great. Great service. Great Ambiance.

Some of our favorites: Taste of Africa, my kids like it so much, they requested it the second time we went. Botswana Seswaa-style Beef Short Rib, love it so much we ordered it again the 2nd time we dine there. Bo Kaap Malay Seafood Curry.

The only not so perfect incident: one night my filet migon turned out tough to cut and had no flavor whatsoever. I only took one bite and just left it there. Server never asked me what happened and I was too tired to mention it. Plus there was a ton of food on the table with our plan so I didn't go starving.

Also, all desserts were just ok for us. Nothing too exciting. I may just mention because our very "Chinese" palate, we don't like most of the American desserts. Way too sweet for us. We always like a dessert here because it's not too sweet, which my DS thinks is so weired, :)

All in all, still a very good experience.

2. Monsieur Paul(Grade: 10)

Hands down our best meal so far. A solid 10.

I went with DS whiel DH stayed at hotel with DD who had a fever that night. We were given table by the window. It was great looking out the window and see all people in France. Service was top notch. Everything was done right. The serve was polite, on point, knew his job well.

Food was awesome. We loved everything. Highlight: Salade de Homard du Maine (Maine Lobster Salad): my favorite dish so far, light, fresh, flavorful and beautiful presentation. La Sphère: we are not chocolate person, but the presentation of this dish is just gorgeous.

We are going back again next February so that DH and DD can try this restaurant as well.

3. Boma (Grade: 7)

DH and DD ate there once for dinner. Then we both went for breakfast once. According to DH, breakfast was better than dinner. More variety of food and better value. I found it ok. Nothing bad, but not overly impressive either. The line at some of the breakfast station got long for me couple times. The service was very good.

4. Yak & Yeti (Grade: 7.5)

We found Yak & Yeti were decent for being an Asian restaurant on Disney property that properly weren’t created to cater to Asians only. Service was good. Restaurant was on the noisy side for me.

DH and I were born and raised in China. Our kids are used to eating homemade Chinese dishes and I am a very decent cook. So our family are Asian food snobs. Food was too salty for me, but this is a general complaint about most Disney food. We had the pot sticker and dim sum basket for appetizer. Not very good for us adults but DD4 liked both. Among our dishes Bhaktapur Duck was the winner, it was crispy outside, tender inside, very flavorful but a little too salty for me again. Dessert wise, the very popular Fried Wontons were absolutely gross to us. We barely touched it after one bite each. On the other side, we all think the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake was much better.

Great reviews. My husband is Filipino, so we are always in search of Asian food at Disney. Our favorite is Morimoto Asia. I know its Japanese not Chinese, but the Peking such ramen is really good.
