Waaaa, for some reason I can't post this post.... I keep trying!

We just got back from our first stay at POFQ. We loved it, it's quiet and smaller and so pretty. We paid for a standard view room but ended up in building 5 facing the pool/spa area. We were right next to the food court and close to the bus station... awesome! The buses ran REALLY well and had no problems at all.

This said, we had one issue the first day. We had checked in and my son was playing in the room while we unpacked. We then heard whack and him screaming. Come to find there are sheets of wood under the mattress and there was 5 inches of it sticking out the side of the bed and my son hit his forehead on it. Right above his right eye was very black and he screamed at first and then was very sleepy and out of it. So we called the front desk who advised us to call the paramedics. First the head of housekeeping showed up to start taking some info. Then 2 lifeguards who were a big help with the girls. By then Ian was pepping up so we felt silly for calling. That's when 3 EMTs showed up to examine him followed by 2 disney police. All in all, he was fine and we got the chat about kids with head injuries and that he seemed fine but where to go if we were worried. He ended up with a very black eye the first two days we were there which turned into a red welt that he still has. We came back to the room on the 2nd day to find a card from goofy hoping he was feeling better... lol.

But all in all, it was a great stay at POFQ followed by a wonderful night at Boardwalk...

How scarey. I hope Goofy put a smile back on Ian's sweet little face. It must have been heartbreaking to see his black eye. I'm glad you had a good trip though and that you enjoyed your stay at POFQ. Did anyone ever explain why those sheets of wood were sticking out like that?

On our trip in Feb -- at the POFQ -- my DS(then 6years) slipped on water that was left from cleaning on the third floor walkway. He pulled a groin muscle which he didn't really feel badly until around 2am ..when he woke up yelling and screaming in pain. Anyways, we reported the incident and they were so very wonderful offering to have him see a dr. and take care of all related expenses. Of course, it wasn't necessary and he was able to work through it...but the POFQ staff and the GM adminstrative staff at the POR (who manages the POFQ) were absolutely wonderful about handling it.

We love this resort, though, and I'm glad you had a great time. I know exactly where you were located. It is an ideal location.

One thing we do when we check in is check how the bed (mattresses) s are situated as the mattress can get pushed so that it is off the platform, just a little. I know when my son is goofing around he can sometimes even push it enough to leave a lip so I've gotten very good about checking it periodically during our stay. One time he almost did the same thing yours did. It is scary.

Hopefully your next trip will be much more uneventful ... at least in regards to personal injury...I'm glad it all worked out. Thanks for the report.
