We were on deck 11 when the adult pool overflowed its water onto the deck. My wife and I had been to the Cove Café and were on our way back to our stateroom. I was not feeling well so we sat down on a love seat next to the pool on deck 11. Until this point the ship had not listed from side to side very badly. While we were sitting there, the ship rolled to the port side at a steep angle. The adult pool started to spill its water to the port side. Before we could get up, the ship rolled to the starboard side. The water on the deck, as well as, the water overflowing from the starboard side of the pool washed my wife and I across deck 11 and into the glass wall on the starboard side of the ship. All of the furniture and the love seat that we were sitting on went with us into the glass. We both lost our shoes overboard during this incident. The crew members from the Cove Café did an excellent job at helping the guests to safety inside the ship while the ship was rolling from side to side. We have some bruising and soreness from our ride across deck.

Whoa! I was on this cruise, just curious, approximately what time did this happen on Friday? This goes in line with the rocking of the ship on Friday evening, which was scary and unsafe. Only if others could see what was going on after midnight where the ship was really tilting. . . .

Wow!! Thanks for sharing and glad you guys are ok! :goodvibes Did the water make it to the carpeting? It looked like it was about to pour inside as well!

Take care of yourselves,
Heather

I am so glued to this, and cannot imagine how scary it must have been for all of you onboard.

I have relentlessly pushed DH for a Bahamas cruise for next November, we finally booked due to my badgering :goodvibes and now I want to nix it! I would rather rebook for an Alaska 2014 cruise, but DH is now the one saying no, he want so keep what we have. :(

OP will you be cruising again??

This happened at midnight, and the carpet did get soaked with water all of the way to the Spa and stairs. In the CNN video it looks like one of the doors had broke and glass was in the floor. It did not break while we were up there.

The next morning they had a drying fan going at the top of those stairs so I am sure the water made it in past the doors

Great job capturing that scene. Best video yet capturing the true severity of the situation. It appears you were still videoing while sliding into glass?
The broken door was on 12.

H.O.L.Y. C.O.W.!!!!! :scared1:

I admit that I've followed the threads about the events of this particular night with amazement. How scary that must have been! For those everyone on the ship, I'm so glad you made it home safely, and I'm doubly glad for those whose kids managed to sleep through the ordeal.

Thank you for sharing your video and experience, and I hope your bruises heal quickly!

Oh, I just realized that the Port Canaveral site that has the live web cam also has one on the New York Harbor.

Wow!! That video sure does speak for itself with the magnitude of the situation. Luckily you just received some bruising. It looks like it could have been much worse.

I have been glued to this thread also.

I just can't believe they put you all in that situation.

I would have been scared to death and IRATE....

I hope all of your emotional trauma heals quickly.

For those of you that were cruising for the first time, I hope you can find a way to get past this.

The Dream & Fantasy are such beautiful ships to cruise on. It's just a shame your cruise had to end this way.

I would be very pissed. This wasn't an earthquake, I'm on the west coast and I've known this was coming, its severity and its path for quite a while. Obviously the ship shouldn't have been in this position. I understand that these people booked during hurricane season but common sense would be to steer clear and if that is no possible stay in port and provide refunds. I think 25% on a future cruise is ridiculous, some people can only do this type of thing once. Maybe 25% off plus at least 25% refund because the captain representing Disney made the choice to take his passengers into an unsafe situation just to stick to his timeline in to port.
