I don't want to overly schedule us.. but have thrown together a bit of a loose plan. I know we'll roll with things when needed.. but wanted a basic idea of what our week will look like. I'm just looking for any suggestions, ideas, etc that I might not have thought of.. from those who have been there/done that! :) This is a mom/daughter trip with just me and DD (who will be almost 8 when we go). We have 5 day park hoppers. DD has never been to DL, and I've only been twice (a very brief trip 10 years ago, and in 1989 when I was 8). We'll be there at the end of this month :D

Saturday - travel day. Flight arrives at LAX around 5:30pm. Hoping to be to our hotel and checked in by 7pm. I would love to make a quick trip (with Uber maybe) down to Target to grab some snacks, cereal/milk, fruit for breakfast. Hoping that DD isn't too tired.. and we can manage to grab a few groceries. Maybe there's somewhere closer/quicker? We're staying off-site (but one of the hotels right across the street on Harbour).

Sunday - Disneyland! Plan to be there for rope drop (hoping 7:30ish for an 8am opening will be early enough). Contemplating an early lunch reservation (11:45-noon) at Cafe Orleans. Planning to take an afternoon break after lunch and head back to hotel for a couple hours. Will be aiming to catch PTN parade and the fireworks on this night.

Monday - DCA! I know this is an EMH morning at DCA.. that we won't be able to use. Do they still do rope drop at the regular opening time on EMH days? I expect we'll spend the whole day in DCA on this day. Excited to do the Animation Academy with DD, who is super into art/drawing at the moment. Can always hop over to DL for the fireworks.

Tuesday - Thinking of starting out the morning at DCA (because of MM in Disneyland this day), with the intention of doing a few things and then most likely hopping over to DL. Planning to not spend the whole day in the parks on this day.. leaving around 4/5pm. We have tickets for the Anaheim Angels game this evening (7pm).

Wednesday - Rest day! Sleep in, pool, shopping. Hopefully go to bed early!

Thursday - Disneyland! We'll use our MM on this day and go, go, go during those first few hours ;) I'm sure we'll take an afternoon break. I am *this close* to booking the WOC Dessert Party for us (I'm trying to stick to a fairly tight budget food-wise, so this would be our one big splurge). I'm debating about doing it on this night or the next (Friday, our last day). Thoughts?! WOC is at 8:30pm on Thursday and 9pm on Friday. I'm not sure how my DD will do with long days and late nights (well later than normal a few nights). Though there's not much difference between 8:30 and 9:00 ;)

Friday - Start the day in Disneyland. Hopefully get to ride Autopia as this is supposed to be its first day open after the long refurbishment. Do whatever we like to do :D The Soundsational Parade is scheduled for 4:30pm on this day (only other day it's scheduled for is Sunday, our first day. Not sure if this is a 'must see'?). Very likely hop over to DCA and do our favourites. Maybe WOC Dessert Party on this night.

Saturday - late morning flight back home.

Love the idea of early lunch at Cafe Orleans on Sun. I recommend booking it as early as you can in the day, I think that's 11:30. Every time we've been with our 11:30 reservation it's still 15-20 mins after that before we get seated (we are a party of 5 so for a part of 2 I expect you'll be seated easier) but being first on the reservation list for the day might speed things up a bit & you'll be ready for a break!

The break day is a wonderful idea as are afternoon pool breaks.

I haven't done the dessert party but on the surface sounds like it might be a magical sort of way to cap off your trip if you can fit it into the budget. And there are seats from what I've read here on the DIS, so that would avoid capping your trip off by standing on your feet for another 30-45 mins. If you search this forum I'm sure you can find the recent discussion on the dessert party if you have questions. Have a great trip!

If you arrive at your hotel too late for a trip to Target, there is a 24/7 CVS at the corner of Katella and Harbor that has a grocery section. You will be able to find dairy, snacks, beverages, some produce, frozen goods, etc. there, as well as sundries in case you forgot something at home.

From what I understand you can also have groceries delivered from quite a few stores in the area so they will be there at your hotel when you arrive. I would also recommend switching things up a bit so that you are not in the same park that has EMH as it will be more crowded right off the bat.

I think you are going the same time as us as we have Friday going to DL to do Autotopia because its the only day it will be open when we are there. ha ha. Have a great time!!!

I like your plans so far. Have you considered delivery from Von's or signing up for a Amazon Prime trial for Amazon Pantry? My only other suggestion is if you're leaving right after lunch on Sunday you might consider Carnation Cafe since it's on Main Street. If you're not heading out until a couple hours later I'd keep Cafe Orleans because Pomme Frittes!!! Have a great trip!
