part four- http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=8567484#post8567484

We weren’t quite sure what to do when our son got sick on Wednesday morning since it was our last full day there and we had to use our park tickets, so we decided to play it by ear. He just got sick the one time, and then went back to sleep quickly, so we decided to get up early as planned and see how he was. He seemed fine, he was in good spirits but still wouldn’t eat anything. The (modified due to all the other problems) plan was to head to All Star Movies to pick up our tickets, room key and photo pass card (did I forget to mention that I had lost those the day before? Thank God someone honest found them, not that they could have used them, but where would we have been without them?) and then be at Magic Kingdom by opening… You guessed it, that didn’t happen!

On the way to All Star Movies, traffic was diverted through Coronado Springs due to an army helicopter landing… that of course backed things up and caused a delay… When we finally did arrive at the All Star, the girl just couldn’t figure out what we meant by “we were here yesterday, touring the resort, and we lost our tickets. A man named Adam left us a message and told us we could pick them up at the front desk.” We had even called the night before to confirm, and even then they seemed confused over it- “You’re staying at Old Key West? But this is All Star Movies, here is the number to Old Key West… then- Ooh, you want to transfer here from there? Followed by- OK, you don’t want to transfer, you already did transfer?” NO!!! I just went there to see what it was like and I dropped my stuff along the way!!! Is it really that hard people?? We kept our cool and didn’t get harsh, they were trying but they just couldn’t seem to grasp the concept…

Now that all that was behind us, we finally arrived inside Magic Kingdom around 10:00, an hour behind schedule. Not too bad, but from what I had read on the disboards, this could make or break our day. I was convinced that we were going to have another day of rushing around from here to there trying to get the most important things done. We rushed over to Fantasyland, prepared for the lines to be somewhat long, and grabbed a fastpass to Philharmagic with a return about one to two hours later. We went first to The Many Adventure's of Winnie the Pooh, where we all but walked right on, then headed straight for Peter Pan- same story. Could it be- were things looking up for us? We finished all of Fantasyland (with the exception of the Dumbo ride, which for some reason was closed until noon) just after 12:30 including Philharmagic (which was awesome).

We headed over to MGM to see Playhouse Disney, convinced that we wouldn’t be able to see it yet again, even though we had a listing of all the show times this time. We figured the park closes early today (4:00 for a press event) so everyone will be trying to see it or something else would go wrong… We made it just in time for the 2:30 show- we only stood in line about 10 minutes. Now we were excited- did two things really go our way today? Two in a row?? The show was fun, we were a little disappointed in the set, but that had no influence on our experience, we were just excited to be there. We didn’t get the reaction from our son that we had imagined as we planned the trip (for obvious reasons) but still, he had a great time, we could tell. While he never really got up and danced or screamed with laughter, he stuck close to us, mostly clinging to my hair, smiling a big smile with the occasional bounce in his step. He knew who he was seeing, live in front of him, and he loved it. When the bubbles came down, he did actually venture into the aisle since we were sitting right there anyway, and he quickly came running back and regained his position on my lap, my hair in hand. When the show was over we were all in a great mood and BAM!- not two minutes later I got it! He got sick on me, without warning… Lucky for me, he hadn’t eaten so it was mostly just spit, easy to clean up so we didn’t have to head back to the resort. Literally two minutes later he was having the time of his life chasing bubbles that a cast member was blowing for him- guess we didn’t need to end our day early! That was thankfully the last incident of the trip, and after an afternoon nap on the way back to Magic Kingdom, he was his old silly self again.

After the bubble blowing, we realized that the parade was going on, so we ran over there to catch it. We didn’t have a great view, but we enjoyed it just the same. While we were in Playhouse Disney it rained quite a bit, so our stroller was pretty wet. We simply laid a poncho over it before putting him in and headed to Pizza Planet for lunch. The pizza was ok, nothing spectacular, and of course our son didn’t eat much, but we had fun. We fed the birds and our son thought this was the funniest thing ever- he would pick off pieces of the crust, throw it and laugh hysterically when they swooped down to get it. He was definitely feeling better now.

By now it was close to closing time so we headed for the front, a little disappointed that we didn’t get to do Muppet-Vision 3D, but not overly concerned with it. When we passed Star Tours I just couldn’t pass it up, so we decided to do a baby swap. The ride was cheesy but fun as we are huge Star Wars fans, and the store had lots of cool stuff. Now as we were walking out, along comes the highlight of my life- my brush with a celebrity (unfortunately, he doesn’t do anything for me, I’d rather run into Ewan McGreggar or Rivers Coumo)- I see this guy and the entire time I’m thinking to myself- geez, he looks familiar… It was Lance Bass from NSync and I’m pretty sure Joey was with him, but not positive. I wasn’t a fan, so I just kept going, but I did stop a bit down the line to try to sneak a picture, just for proof. (Go figure, it didn’t turn out very well) They were standing at the exit looking like they were waiting for something, and Lance was swinging around a lightsaber. I figured it was something to do with the press event? Even though neither of us were fans (in fact, we pretty much despised their music) it cheered us up even more to know that we saw something we weren’t supposed to, and that we were that close to “famous people”… As we walked up to get our stroller from the front of the ride, Mr. Important Guy who was standing with them came running over to us in a half panic saying “Hi folks, can I help you with something today?” “Uhm, no thanks, just getting my stroller…” I say as I’m standing two feet away from a lonely stroller lugging around a bunch of bags and a toddler… “Oh, ok” he says in a much more relaxed voice, practically wiping the sweat from his brow- “we were wondering whose that was”. (We were the last people to ride for the day; I guess they thought it was “safe” by now?) Does anyone know any more about this? Were they in fact there for the press event? I did a brief search and didn’t come up with anything conclusive, so I’d really love to hear more about it. Back to the report- by now the park was closed and as we headed out we saw quite a few radio booths set up with people doing their broadcasts and last minute tests and what not- pretty fun to witness.

We headed back to Magic Kingdom, fully expecting it to be so crowded we’d want to leave, since it was the only park still open that day. Alas, this was not the case- the park was quite welcoming, we walked on to just about every ride! I think the rain scared a lot of people off, so we welcomed ti! It actually didn't even rain again that I can remember. The longest wait we had was for Astro Orbiter, which stated a 15 minute queue and took closer to 25… WHAT A RIP OFF!!! We had no idea how short the ride was- 45 seconds! Not worth it at all unless you can literally just walk on with no wait, in my opinion. Other than that, we had a blast! I did the roller coasters alone since my husband doesn’t like them, and I absolutely loved Splash Mountain- I didn’t remember it being the ride it was, telling a story and all, I just remembered that it was sort of a roller coaster. (I had only been on it once before, some 13 years ago) I also went on Haunted Mansion for the first time and loved it, I had no idea about the hitch-hiking ghosts and loved that part! Pirates of the Caribbean was the ride I went on over and over again during my only other trip to Disney World, and I didn’t remember it at all, just that I loved it. We went on twice in a row- it is both mine and my husband’s favorite ride there. We basically did every ride that we wanted to, and only skipped a handful total, thanks to EMH and low crowds. The only regret we had was not having time to see the shops.

We saw some characters, I collected autographs for my friend’s daughter and had a good time doing it. I took my son to the princess line in Toontown while my husband got himself something to eat, and there we met Cinderella and Snow White. They were both beautiful and very sweet, but Snow White topped the cake. She was extra sweet, talked to my son and made him blush- it was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, he’s never blushed before! As we were leaving she noticed that my diaper bag (which was actually a purse that I purchased at Wal-mart to pull double duty while down there) had her on it, and she commented on it. I had completely forgotten about it, I was so wrapped up in her interaction with my son… She offered to sign it, and out I walked to meet my husband, stupid grin plastered on my face as he tried to figure out why. I never would have expected to care so much about the characters, but she made my day!

We finished with the princesses just in time to go stake out a spot for wishes, and were planning to head to Main Street to our pre-determined spot near Casey’s. We got to the bridge and saw that there were still some spots open, almost directly in front of the castle so we parked right there and had a short 20 minute wait. We had a great view of the entire show, and Tinkerbell literally flew directly over our heads! My husband and I both agree that that is by far the best job in Walt Disney World, how fun would that be??

After Wishes I had dinner at Cosmic Rays and we had a lot of fun, my son ate a little bit and mostly just played- he was beginning to get really giddy now, and very funny! Strangely from here on out (ten o clock at night) he had the best time of the entire trip, so that of course was our best time too. We had the park to ourselves, never had to wait for a ride, got to see everything all lit up, and somehow even after 14 hours on our feet wearing flip flops, we were feeling great. The rest of the night we just rode the rides and goofed off with our son, and really had a ball. We had found the Magic- I was beaming, my son was giddy, and my husband was just taking it all in- our trip had been redeemed! We got home around 1:30 and went straight to bed! I will post the conclusion sometime tomorrow- they just keep getting longer and longer, sorry! Thanks for reading!

:) I am glad to see things started to work out for you and your family. I hope everything ends well.

I have been reading your report, and my heart was so heavy for you all with a sick baby and all the hard work that goes into planning a trip like this. I am so happy to read that things got better for you all........ I am excited to read about the conclusion..

Glad to see that your trip took a turn for the better. Enjoyed your report! Thanks for posting!

Great trip reports. I am sorry your little guy was not feeling well.

I hope all ended well, I can't wait to read the next one.

Thanks for sharing your report. I love these trip reports..I get so much out of them!

I just wanted to comment on the 'N-Sync Guys. I read Mary's Press Trip report on Mousesavers.com and I'm pretty sure I remember a shot of Joey Fatone performing with another band. (I forget now who it was.) So you probably really did see them :-)

Love your reports!! You are a better woman than I. I would probably cry if one of my dc threw up at WDW. I don't handle that 'barf' stuff very well :umbrella:

Thanks everyone, glad you enjoyed it! Don't get your hopes up for another great day, there was a bit of a meltdown involved, but I won't mention any names just yet... :rolleyes1 I will get started on the conclusion in a few minutes, so keep an eye out.

Magical-Memories: Thanks for the info, now I can back my story up! I'll read Mary's trip report on it later today.

Briarmom- You should have seen us the first time he got sick- it was literally the first time either one of us had to deal with something like that, and we were acting like chickens with our heads cut off! My husband kept saying "what do I do, what should I do?" and I was just staring in disbelief while people were handing me their little beverage size napkins to clean it up with (it was a nice thought and all they had to offer, but it didn't work too well) I was just thanking God that noone was sitting in the seats in front of us! (and that aside from my foot, I was barf free ;) ) We cleaned it up the best we could and the bus driver insisted that he would take care of it- I felt so bad... Of course that held the bus up for the next people, and I don't even want to think of the smell he left behind! :earseek:

Thanks for the great trip reports. Sorry to hear that your son was feeling a little under the weather, glad things are turning around for you. Enjoy the rest of your trip~ :sunny:

Arent' the princesses at Toon Town just wonderful??? It was by far our best character experience ever. they were so gentle with my shy DD3, who was struck speechless in actually meeting them. They really took the time to draw her out. I teared up just watching her when she told them she loved them and gave them each a hug and a kiss. If you knew my daughter, you'd realize how incredible it is for her to do something like this with anyone outside her family. Truly a "Magical Moment"

It's funny how you mention that this was the 1st time you'd ever had to deal with this. That first child can sure turn everything topsy-turvy. Don't worry, you'll be an old hand at this by the next child. A little puke will be nothing!!!!

Glad to hear that you got at least one really great day out of it. Sorry to hear about the various sicknesses but I hope that all are doing great now.

Part four is up, the link is in the OP.

Kabuki- I can't wait for my son to be old enough to know who he's seeing (not that he'll want to see the princesses then) and to see their interaction! How sweet that your daughter opened up to them, it must have been the highlight of her trip!

This day seemed to go a little better after the rough start....

Thanks for posting, we were over at vero beach that day (in all the rain) but we found on our last trips that MK is great on a rainy day because it is EMPTY and so small that the walks in the rain isn't as bad as say Epcot. MGM there is alot of shows so that is good. :goodvibes

When my DD was that age she was a little sick too, (every trip we didn't go to Centra care was a good one.) She wasn't as animated as we expected her to be, but had a good time and would talk about it later.

Next trip your DS will be an expert at WDW (and so will you.) and it will go a bit more smoothly. :cheer2:

Once again, so sorry about your son being sick, been there done that and I hate it!!!!
