We got back from the Mouse House on Saturday. Just thought we would do a report here from the perspective of how we enjoyed the trip on wheels.

As a reminder, Kim has CP, and uses a power chair, full time. Due to my bad hip, I rented an ECV from Randy's Mobility.

We stayed at Coronado Springs. We had two, conjoined rooms..one standard, one accessable, as another of our fellow travelers also is in a chair. She and her companion stayed in the accessable room, and Kim and I stayed in the standard room.

We picked the Coronado, as someone here recommended it for the accessable rooms. The roll in shower was great. Kim and Debbie both gave it high marks for ease of access.
Kim and I had no trouble parking her chair and my ECV both in the standard room for charging, both out of the way. In the room I always walked, and kept the scooter off in a corner.

The parks are greatly accessable. We were impressed. There was only one accessable bathroom in MK that was hard for me and Kim..as she needs my assistance. It was across from the Swiss Family Treehouse. The stall was not large enough for the both of us, so we went to another. I think it would be fine for someone who could transfer themselves.

For myself, I found that the ECV started loosing it's charge in the late afternoon, and I did have to go back to the room a couple of times to plug it in. I did find a couple of places (including Coral Reef) who let me plug it in to charge it while I was there. I also went to Guest Relations in the MarketPlace to charge while I did a bit of walking around.

Here is a comment from Kim (who is right next to me): "I was able to get on the haunted mansion doom buggy, with the help of two of my companions. The cast members there let us go through twice. I thought the entire visit was awesome. This was my first time going in my power chair. Last time I had my manual. So I had more independance this time."

Overall, it was a pretty positive experience, and for myself, I am glad I got the scooter.

You should have called Randy's as soon as you first had trouble with the charge they would have brought you another scooter or at least new batteries.
I just got back last night from my trip using two scooters, mine and a rented one from Buena Vista scooters. Stayed at the POR in roll in shower room. when I checked in to the room there was no hand held shower though the roll in shower did have a seat in one corner, I called and had them change the shower to hand held.
Also the bed a King, was atrocious,, someone here told me that POR had changed to Pillow top beds, well not in this room they had not I could feel the springs coming through the bed, I called again and ordered an egg crate for the top of the mattress which only helped marginally, it would have been more softer on the floor! also the bed was the lowest I have ever seen, It might work for some people transferring but they must be low. also the refrigerator froze everything even on the warmest setting.

thanks for the report.
glad to hear you had a great time.
