Our warrior princess wishes for the World

Hi Misty,

Your kids are so cute! You're going to have a BLAST! Much more convenient after potty training - we just went with a 3 yo who was almost there -

Just a note - when you're packing, pack an extra, empty duffel bag or a roll of packing tape because you *will* be lugging (or shipping) a pile of stuff home from GKTW. They put something in your villa every day. I packed "gift bags" for one day - they were paper shopping bags with flat bottoms about 4X12X15 inches and they were FULL. That was for just one day.

Oh - and you gals buying trading pins for your kids - don't pay retail! I get mine from an ebay seller for around 2 - 3 $ each and they are nice disney pins, although you can't pick what you want, they will do nicely for traders, if you can bear to part with them. I've bought from him a few times, starting small, and now trust him to be an honest seller. (pm if you want address)

Hey Howdy Hey all!!!

We're into DOUBLE DIGITS!!! Only 89 days until Disney!!!
Mom2lilnick ~ I HATE waiting. It has definitely been the hardest part. Everyone else's trip reports really help. And counting by events instead of days is good too. Like, we have DH's birthday, then Halloween, the DS's birthday and then Disney World! ;) Makes the time seem far less than it actually is!
Misty

Double Digits :yay:

We leave just a few days after you. We've been doing the same thing. First Drew's birthday (check), then Ryan's birthday, then Halloween, then Madilynn's birthday, then Thanksgiving, then D.I.S.N.E.Y.

I've enjoyed reading your report so far and look forward to more! :)
Your kids are SO cute! I'm sure they'll have a lot of fun! We're going to be at GKTW just the week before you (5th-12th). We are very excited too.
I'm sorry to hear the school start was rough for your little guy... I hope things will go smoother soon. :)

Hopping over from the disboutique thread to sub! What DARLING children you have. I am so excited for all of you, can't wait to hear more about your plans!!
...t.
P.S. You have been banned from the disboutiquers board, right? NO PEEKING!

Hello friends!

I've been absent for far too long!

I'm so excited to report that I got a PM that our Big Give will be starting soon.
T-beri - I will not peek!! Pinky Swear!!!! It's going to be hard, but I will stay strong!

I have mapped out our days at Disney.

Saturday - We land around noon. Then we'll go to DTD to get lunch and shop and meet up with my mom and sister. They are staying at POR and it's just a boat ride for them to get to DTD. Then we'll go to GKTW. We'll explore and chill and then at 5 there's a movie. I'll go to the orientation and DH can take the kids to Mayor Clayton's birthday party or whatever.

Sunday - MAGIC KINGDOM!!! After MK, we'll take the monorail over to GF for dinner with Cinderella.

Monday - Epcot. We have reservations for lunch at Le Cellier, but I'm not 100% committed to it. I think we also might like Teppan Edo for the fancy knife work, but we'll see.

Tuesday - Horseback riding at GKTW first thing in the morning and then over to DHS. Lunch at Pizza Planet is a must! :) Back to GKTW that night for Nickelodeon Night (if they still have that).

Wednesday - Our "whatever" day. We'll plan it on the fly.

Thursday - Animal Kingdom. Back to GKTW that night for all the Christmas activities!

Friday - Resies at GF for the Supercalifragilistic Breakfast. Then maybe back to DTD until it's time for mom and sis to go to airport. We don't fly out until 8:20 that night, so we're going to squeeze in Sea World after mom and sis leave, but before we go to the airport.

That's kind of it. We'll see how close what we actually do is to what I planned to do ;)

Thanks for following along everyone!!

Misty,
Your plans sound wonderful. I have just a little info to share with you about GKTW and POR, though we didn't stay at POR because they upgraded us to OKW. It is about 8 miles from GKTW to POR but it is really an easy drive. We didn't mind it at all. I absolutely love the boat ride from POR to DTD. It is probably one of my favorite things and an absolute must do every time we head to WDW. Your mom and sister are welcome anytime at GKTW, they just need to check in at the front gate to get in or if they are coming in with you, no problem. We also needed to register at the House of Hearts so they knew who we were and could link us with Karlyn and her family. They can eat meals with you if they purchase Bunny Bucks at the House of Hearts and they can go to the parties, movies etc with your family if they want to. We only had time to do the Christmas thing because of our late time arriving to Orlando and our early time leaving to come home to Salt Lake but it sounds like you will have much more time than we did.

I am so excited for you all. I know you will have a wonderful, though probably not perfect trip. Nothing is ever really perfect is it now!

Keep us informed.

Well, this past weekend was our pumpkin pickin' weekend. Every year, we go to a local farm called Triple B Farm and spend the afternoon doing fall/halloween stuff. We ride a hay wagon and pick pumpkins and drink cider and all that jazz.
I'm going to attempt to put some photos in here, but I'm always afraid I've forgotten how. :scared:

Here are my babies at the entrance to the fun:

Wil in the pumpkin patch:

Ali found this little green barely grown pumpkin and would not put it down. She wanted nothing to do with the orange pumpkins and when I tried to get the green one off of her she shouted "Hey, that's my pumpkin!":goodvibes
Needless to say there is a little green pumpkin on my porch right now!

We had a really nice afternoon.

On to Disney business...I was banned from the DisBoutique board!!! I'm beyond excited. When I saw that message on here from T-Beri, I called everyone I knew to let them know that our Big Give had begun. It's a beautiful, overwhelming feeling to know that these angels are out there going out of their way for my kids. It's killing me, but I'm proud of myself for not trying to sneak a peek. I admit that I want to, but I'm staying strong. I refuse to look. I do like to be surprised sometimes! This is kind of nice actually...I'm running around to have all these surprises for everyone else in my family for the trip, so this is my surprise.
:lovestruc

Well, I guess it's time to see if the pictures came up.
Crossing my fingers!

Hello!! I am subscribing! Can't wait to hear more. Your schedule looks fantastic!! :)

:) maroo

Only 55 days left to go!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Well, I went to Target and bought a big rubbermaid bin to put the stuff I'm buying for Disney in until it's time to pack. There's nothing in it yet

But, I've been making lists about what needs to go in it...does that count?? :rotfl:

I'm a big list maker. It makes me feel in control. And, yes, I'm one of those people that, if I do something that's not on my list, I write it down just so I can cross it off. :)

I've made lists of how many socks we'll need to pack and underwear and stuff, but I'm not sure how hot/cold it will be in December so my list of clothes is a little harder. Right now I'm on the hunt for something special for the kids to wear to the GKTW Christmas party. I've found some cute dresses online, but I'm not sure what the weather is going to be like and then I saw on BigDisGrandma's report that there is cookie decorating and I don't want to get some fancy dress that Ali can't play in. I like the kids to coordinate too and that gets hard with an almost 7 year old boy and a little girl. Wil now refuses to wear a sweater vest, but I'm thinking I can convince him that it will impress Santa. What to do what to do.

We've also had another problem solved! I have two rather large dogs and I was worried about having to put them in a kennel. My big dog, Elvis, would probably be ok, but the smaller one, Gidget, came from a bad situation before us and I think it would mess her up. So, my dad was going to watch them, but then my parents went and got a crazy puppy and I was thinking it would just be too much for my dad to deal with. But then, my amazing sister came up with a wonderful solution...her boyfriend will stay at her house while we are gone and let my dogs stay there!!! She has a fenced in yard and everything. I'm not sure her boyfriend knows about this yet :rolleyes1 but I'm sure she'll find a way to convince him. So, YEA...there's $500 more that I can have for Disney World!

That's all for now...thanks to all of you who are sticking with me.

lol.. I love it. We are still three months out and trying to figure out what to do with the animals. We have a Chameleon that will be about 1 year 2 or 3 months when we leave and she has been the biggest pain to keep alive. She doesn't eat or drink on her own and has been to the vet for numerous hydration visits. We have gotten pretty good at syringe feeding her but I am scared that someone else will mess it up. EEK.

I am glad you found someone for your dogs. It is so hard to think of all those things.

Wow, Amy...good luck with your Chameleon. I can imagine what you are going thru. Poor little thing. That's what I worried about with my one dog..not that she wouldn't survive, but that she would be traumatized. Also, I was thinking of getting Wil a mouse or hamster for his birthday, but then I remembered that Pap (my dad) would have to be in charge of it and we put a halt on that till next birthday.

I actually wasn't really thinking about my dogs at the begining because the last two family vacations we went on were to Nags Head, NC and my sister rented a house that allowed us to bring the dogs with us. I guess it was slow to dawn on me that I couldn't just bring them to Disney World:laughing:

We had a little pixie dust sprinkled our way today! A certain "Fairy GoodMother" sent little bandaid caddys for each kid. They are so cute! And they have the most adorable Mickey shaped buttons on them. I would love to know where they came from! I have such plans in my head about trying to get shirts done for my whole family and I LOVE the buttons! I went onto the Disney shopping website and they have fabulous half zip fleece shirts. You can get them with a Christmas Mickey and get them personalized with your name, but they are more than $30 a piece and they only come in adult sizes. I even thought of buying one of those Brother embroidery machines thinking I could then participate in future Big Gives, but they are over $300 and I'm not sure I could learn to use it properly in time for Disney World. My next step is checking the yellow pages to see if I can find someone who does the Disney embroidery and then I can buy the fleece shirts cheeper. Wish me luck!:)
If any of the DisBoutiquers happen to be checking out our pre-trip report and has any other ideas of what I can do, please let me know! I am open to any suggestions!

That's cool about the band-aid caddys! :) Sounds like a good idea to buy cheaper fleece sweaters yourself, and then getting someone to embroidery it on for you, as long as it comes out cheaper in the end (sometimes the storebought ones end up being cheaper after all). I like your idea of having a rubbermaid bin to keep everything in, I've just used an empty diaper box so far. :rotfl2: But it's slowly filling up. :) Have fun planning and writing list. Sometimes the planning is almost half the fun! :thumbsup2

Tomorrow is officially one more month till Disney!!party: party:

I can hardly believe it!

We got some more amazing Pixie Dust in the mail the other day. Glenda (gcast1) over on the Disboutiqe board sent crayon roll ups for the kids. Wil's is Toy Story and has Crayola Twistables in it. Ali's is princess and has the fatter crayons in it! She also sent coloring books and sticker books.
So a great big THANK YOU to Glenda. They are so beautiful and they were a ray of sunshine to us when they got here. The MAW foundation had sent a little package to Ali the other day and when Wil saw that this time there was something for him too, he was thrilled!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!:worship:

I am starting to get a little nervous I guess. I've been having some bad dreams about our trip. My Mom and DH think I'm being completely neurotic, and they are probably right.
First, I had a dream that when we got to GKTW, there were no villas left so they took us and put us in a trailer instead. Then last night I had a dream that I was at the airport and I realized that I hadn't brought any of our luggage and that we never got an expense check so we had no money to go to Disney. I was very glad to wake up and realize they were just dreams. And that neither one of them is really likely to happen. Can you tell I have Disney Brain!!!

Amber ~
That's true!! Aren't we lucky? Do you get that question about where did he get it? I'm a brunette and DH was blondish (when he had hair). I used to try to dye my hair that color, but it never turned out as pretty as Ali's. :rotfl:
I also wanted to ask you...I was skimming your trip report ( I intend to read it after the kiddos are asleep ) and I saw Sebastian in a Steelers jersey! Are you originally from Pittsburgh? You may have already told me, but I have mommy brain and can't remember much day to day :rotfl:  In fact, now as I type this, I get the feeling I already know the answer to this question, but I'll ask it again anyway.

We're getting so close now! Can't you just taste it?

We get the question of where did it come from all the time! I have blonde hair and Brian has dark, dark brown hair so boy were we surprised to get a kid with bright red hair!

We are Steelers fans for sure! Brian is orgionally from Pittsburgh. I was born in Miami. But I fell in love with Football cheering the Steelers to the Superbowl so I guess by marriage I have the right to be a terrible towel waver too ;-)

It's almost our turn!!! :woohoo: :wizard: :woohoo:

I'm so glad the kids liked their pixie dust. Jessica (jessica52877) sent me the Toy Story fabric for Wil's crayon rollup so this was truly a "community effort". Please believe me that being a part of the Big Give has given us MUCH more than we could ever give your precious family! Have a magical trip!

Glenda

10 more days!!! I can't wait to hear more about all the great things the Big Give sends!!! I bet the kids are sooo excited!!!
