Our trip was 10/1 - 10/8/2005

We just got back yesterday from Orlando...

We stayed the first couple nights at the Hard Rock Hotel and then onto the Beach Club ...

First let me say that I will never again stay at the Hard Rock.. Disney has my $ from this point on... The Beach Club was very nice and plenty of room for a family of 5... I loved that we could just walk over to Epcot.. that was especially nice since we visited during the F&W festival.

The dinning was so well worth it.. We ate at Kona Cafe, Spoodles, Rose and Crown and Boma. We had a reservation to Le Cellier, but had to cancel because our 8 yr old was sick and we were at the ER that day.. I did tell Le Cellier that we were at the ER and could we change our time... No go.. they were booked... I guess you either make the reservation time or you dont get another... We almost lost that days dinning because our DS was so sick, but the Beach Club allowed us to go to Cape May and bring back food to the room. I was told this was very unusual... but I was so happy that they allowed us to do it... (I could see the only problem with the dinning is that you can't interchange counter/table service>>> I was told that you can't interchange them... so be aware of that)

I have to say that Kona Cafe was the top rated dinner for us.. every other place was good.. Kona just stood out.

It was very busy for October... there were waits as long as 40 mins... and loads of people.. It rained everyday... but that kept the heat down.. but it was humid...

All in all, we had a good time... minus the sick kid .... and a few quirks... we will return again in 2007... :thewave:

You were there with us We didn't stay at the Beach resort though, we chose to stay at the budget POP. Sorry you had an ER trip in there, wished that the restaurant would have been more accomodating.....kind of takes away from the magic when something can't be arranged in such an instance. Hope all is well now though,

We were there those exact same dates and we too had a trip to the ER... Our 22 month old had a double ear infection + croup..... Rain really didn't bother us until MSHHP on the 6th... It was a bummer but we still had fun. My little guy was too sick to really enjoy much of the week.

Yeah sorta did take away the magic for the moment.. then the beach club saved the day with allowing us to use the dinning we had left for take out ...

My son is still sick, but better then he was..

Must have been the week for it... My guy had 2 trips to the docs during that week.. one to urgent care and then to the er... they still aren't sure what the problem is.. so we go to our pediatrician tomorrow...

We were there those same dates, and guess what? We had to bring our son to the ER too!! 104 temp while we were at MGM Studios. They said it was viral but gave us a prescrip for Amoxicillin just in case. Good thing cause he woke up the next morning with very bad congestion.
I thought it was pretty crowded too. I think the F & W festival had alot to do w/the crowds.

Wow, we weren't there the same week but during our trip in April we ended up at the ER once and with EMT's in our room another time for DD. I thought we were jinxed but it seems to be a common thing! While it didn't spoil our trip it definately made it very stressful. Hope everyone is feeling better!

So sorry all your little ones were sick!!!

we were there too during some of those days, no illnesses though thank the Lord. I am glad you still had fun...

I also thought about changing maybe 2 or 3 CS for a TS meal would work out because we left with 16 CS credits never used!!! We just could not eat it all!!!!!

We will try Kona next time!! Thanks for your tips!

for the most part I found CM's and Disney to be very accomodating and helpful to everyone! I am glad they let you take out, I see nothing wrong with that IMO! You did pay for the meal after all, but I guess it is a buffet right?? That might have been why they normally do not allow it...

We thought crowds were great until about the 2nd or 3rd, then we noticed a big pick up...most we waited was 30 min standby for KS at AK and fasspassed Soarin'

We were there 10/1-10/8 also and we had to take our son to the ER for a nasty bug bite. His leg swelled up twice its size and he complained it hurt real bad. He's 4. The doctor said Florida has some weird bugs down there. They put him on a antibiotic and he is now fine.

We were there 10/1 - 10/9. Praise the Lord that we didn't need to make a trip to ER but we did have to request new bedding one nite at 12:30 a.m. for DD as she got sick and we couldn't get her out of bed in time. She had some motion sickness on the way down so we had her "pail" with us but didn't have any clue she was going to get sick that nite. Sorry to hear about so many little ones having to go to the ER.

I did get bitten by something at the Animal Kingdom though. Hurt like crazy for a few hours and then was fine.

I can't believe how many people ended up in the ER.. must be why it was a 5 hour ordeal. I am also very glad that everyon is feeling better...

Kona was wonderful and I did like looking around the poly.. may try that next... more themed than the beach club...
