Our trip to our "Happy place" w/ pics & videos!!*new 7/7!!*Last day Magic Kingdom**

I'm glad she rode it, even though it was scary! Zachary keeps talking about all of these rides he want to go on even though I tell him they are scary... I hope I don't run across any meanies like the lady in front of you! People should mind their own business!! You weren't hurting her!

I'm glad you went left when she went right! Good move! :thumbsup2

Oh yeah, it's very cool she rode it! My DD-11, 11 today actually, rode it when she was 4. She liked it! But she loves all the rides, even scary coasters at other parks. Your girl has her some moxy! Gotta love that!

WOW!!! I love that story, and her face is priceless, she sounds like such a fun spunky girl. My Lauren pretty much felt the same way about TOT, but now that we are a few months out she's saying she wants to ride it again. I would have had a hard time with that woman saying that, you did well, I wish people would just keep their oppinions to themselves.
CAn't wait for more, loving this report!
Lesley

I love her reaction! :thumbsup2

I talked my 5 year olds onto it, feeling that they'd regret it if they didn't try. They still, 4 months later, tell me that the ONLY ride they didn't like at WDW was ToT. :rolleyes1

Nice updates!!!! I had to catch up on a few pages, I got sick this past week and found out yesterday i have pneumonia!! I guess better now than when I'm working at WDW this spring and don't have my mommy around to take care of me! Can't wait for whats next!

aww.....What a big girl she is riding TOT!!!

I love what she did by holding your face, my ds does the same thing...:rotfl2:

She is hilarious.

Cute video, too. My ds does the same thing when he is tired....gets this last burst of energy and can't stay still either:rotfl2:

Sorry I've been absent lately, but I'm all caught up now! :cool1:

Wow! I can't believe Rae rode ToT!! It took me three trips to WDW before I would try it! She sure had her mind made up!

Glad to hear that GM had no serious injury, that was a relief.

Looking forward to more...

Kathy

That is adorable!:goodvibes
Thank you!:goodvibes

Good for her! And by the way, that is exactly how I feel about TOT!
Its funny TOT has never bothered me but this trip I didn't really like it.Tyler says its because I am getting old.

Wow Rae! You are a very brave girl!
Yes she is! Thanks for reading!:thumbsup2

What a brave girl and I love how she was so proud of herself for riding :goodvibes

And those people really should have minded there own business, if you'd been dragging her on maybe but not with it being her idea!
Hi Jo.:goodvibes She is still proud-this morning she was getting her pic taken at daycare and everyone was trying to get her to smile. We all know what her favorite subject is so one of the ladies started talking about Disney. She looked at the photographer and said "I rode TOT.I DID NOT like it.":rotfl2:

WTG RAE:goodvibes

Don't you just looooovvveeee when other people make comments to you about how you are raiding your kids. We were the same way with Jimmy on POTC. He kept saying he wanted to ride, but he hated it last year. We kept asking him if he was sure and he said yes. I could see the looks I was getting and just ignored them. The wind up was the Jimmy LOVED POTC!:thumbsup2
YAY! Glad he liked it.:thumbsup2 Yes I do get tired of "helpful" comments.:sad2:
That's great that she rode it!!!

Do you think she'll ever do it again?:confused3
Well keep reading....:rolleyes1

Yes there was no way I was riding the same elevator with her. You know your kids and sometimes you just have to let them find out for themselves with whatever information you can give them. You may run into "meanies" but you will just have to ignore them.

Tell your DD I said Happy Birthday!:goodvibes Tyler loves ALL rollercoasters too and thinks TOT is not scary at all.I think Rachel will end up alot like him.

Peyton feels the same way.I asked him this trip if he was ready to try it again. His reaction was :rotfl2: Nope not gonna happen. Its good that TOT ended up being the only thing they didn't like.:thumbsup2

HI!She had never done that with my face so it was extra cute to me.:goodvibes Usually when she is tired she runs around talking.:upsidedow

Sorry I've been absent lately, but I'm all caught up now! :cool1:

Hi kathy! She did have her mind made up and would have been a pill all day if I didn't let her. Thanks for reading.:goodvibes

She is so brave!! The ride terrifies me, I went on it for the second time on our last trip and I told DH in case I forget please remind me how terrified I am on this ride, I thought the 2nd time I would'nt be so scared but I think it was worst than the first time. I'd rather go on RnR again. I give Rae credit for trying it, she rocks. Linda :)

Awww that's so cute, that will probably be her biggest memory when she's older :rotfl2:

Just found your TR and read it. Very good stuff! We are leaving for Florida in 36 days! We went once before to MK for one day(our first time) in march of 06' and were going to go to AK for something different and since we have an infant this time but I think I've changed my mind abck to going to MK again. We only have one day to do a disney park=( We go to zoos alot and are going to Sea Worlds so I think MK would be best. My sons are HUGE POTC fans and can't wait to meet Jack Sparrow! Loved seeing all your pictures!! By the way, where did you get those cute mickey head shirts you were earing at AK and the tink ones you wore the first day? Thanks

My DD, now 5, went on TOT when she was 3 1/2 for the first time. She wanted to ride, but was scared and did not want to ride it again. Since that trip she has been on TOT at least 5 more times. She loves the ride, but scared at the same time. I am sorry people need to be so judgemental on what you do with YOUR child, especially at Disney.

It is great that Rae conquered her fears at such a young age. Nothing will stop her now. You go girl.....

Amy,
That is a very cute story about TOT. I do not like the ride, but sometimes I do go on the ride. It freaks me every time, no way would I have rode when I was young, I was the one running away after waiting huge amounts of times for roller coasters when I was pre teen. Rae's face is so adorable, I think that is so funny that she had to tell everyone that she road, but that she didn't like it.:rotfl:

We were on a bus to MGM on a past trip and my sister, we are middle aged adults, starts a conversation with a couple and finds out the wife likes TOT, but not her husband. So my sis tells her I will ride with her, the wife, so that we don't have to ride alone. This is a stranger, not sure how that is different than me just getting into line alone, but anyway how could I say no? It was fine, the lady was so nice, but I really am not sure if she thought my sis was nuts? I kinda did! It really is too funny when you think about it!

Hi Linda!I love RnRC too but for some reason TOT bothered me this trip.:confused3 I will pass your compliments on to Rae...:woohoo:

Yes that and one more that I have yet to reveal...

Hi and :welcome: If I only had one day I would do Mk or Epcot or both...Okay one day would drive me nuts!!:scared1: Mickey Head shirts came from Disneyshopping.com and were only $4.99.The tink shirts are from the studio collection and I got them from the Disney store but they are also on Disneyshopping.com.Thanks for reading!

Hi! She did conquer her fear...we went to a local fair and was upset that she couldn't ride the big rides. Its good to know that your DD rode it after being scared.:woohoo:

Hi!cute story.:goodvibes Thanks for reading!:surfweb:

MGM

I forgot a few things in my last update.I got fast passes and a baby swap pass for RnRC before Rae and I rode TOT.Six fastpasses and the baby swap meant that Rebekah,Peyton and I could ride three times with little wait.:woohoo: Also I called GP and told him we were going to ride TOT while we were on that side of the park.He said that they were going to ride Star Tours and then he would call me.I forgot to tell him that Star Tours was a "no go" for him.:sad2:

Prior to our 2006 trip I did extensive ride research to see what he would be able to ride. His size makes many rides a "no go" as he calls them.

Later he told me that Star Tours was extremely uncomfortable and he would not do it again.

Back to where we left off in the last installment....

We checked out our ride photo but Rachel was too short to see.We looked in the gift shop for a tshirt for Rachel but there were none small enough for her.We were walking out when GP called and said they were done with Star Tours. We decided to meet at the Animation Courtyard.

We walked over and they arrived a few minutes after us.None of them could believe that Rachel had ridden TOT and Rebekah was upset that she had not been with us.Would I have to ride TOT again?!:scared1:

Rebekah and Peyton wanted to do the drawing class in the Magic of Animation building.GP volunteered to take them and they went through the gift shop so that they wouldn't have to watch the movie. They have seen the movie several times and enjoyed it but just wanted to draw this time.:goodvibes

Disney2007264.jpg

I can't believe I forgot to take pictures of their drawings afterwards.

GM and I took Rae to the Little Mermaid show.We all love this one but I think this is when Rachel's obsession with Ariel started.:love:Sge sang the songs, squealed when the bubbles came down, and laughed at the rain.:thumbsup2

GP and the kids were still in the drawing class so we took Rae into Playhouse Disney.
Disney2007266.jpg

GM sat on the bench while Rachel and I sat on the floor.Rachel didn't enjoy the show very much. The only characters she is familiar with in it is Pooh. She wouldn't participate in the dancing either.:confused3 We won't be returning to this one unless there is a character change.

We regrouped to find that Rebekah had hurt her ankle.Somehow she had hit it so hard on one of the art tables that it was bleeding rather badly.I took her into the bathroom to wash it and a nice CM gave us some bandaids and neosporin. With much drama she was fixed up but preceded to limp for the next several hours.

It was 11:00am and we were all starving.I suggested finding Backlot Express and Peyton looked at me and said "I thought we were eating at Sci Fi?"
Umm no...had never mentioned Sci Fi for this trip.He looked so disapointed that I said we would stop there and see if we could eat without an ADR.

Would we be able to eat at Sci Fi?? Would we see the Pep Rally??

that sounded like a fun time.

ooh I hope you ate at Sci Fi I would like your review on it.

I saw the Pep rally and kept walking. :lmao:

Another wonderful update!!

So, what characer did your kids get to draw/. Whne we were there a few years ago, before DS, we got to Donald Duck and it was so much fun.

Sorry that GP didn;t enjoy Star Tours:goodvibes

Playhouse disney characters were pretty limited, but I heard they were adding new charactger to it like handy manny and mickey clubhouse characters....ds would love that:thumbsup2

Poor Rebecca:goodvibes

I am going to guess that you get in at Sci Fi:thumbsup2

I hope you got to eat at Sci Fi! The Magic of Animation looks like fun. Alex would probably enjoy that. We weren't planning to do that, but maybe we'll check it out.

I heard they are changing the Playhouse Disney characters in February. They are going to be closed most of January, then re-opening with Little Einsteins, MM Clubhouse, Handy Manny, I'm not sure who else. My boys will probably be disappointed too. But we'll be seeing the Choo Choo Soul concert and meeting the Einsteins at the character lunch at H&V so hopefully that we make it ok.

Can't wait to read more!! You aren't going to be done before I leave, are you?? Oh well... that much more to read when I get back! :rotfl:

Oh I hope you get in at Sci-Fi. My sister and I went there once and we had fun. Although I feel sorry for the people that have to sit at the tables in the back. It work out well for us as my niece fell asleep and she had lots of room to stretch out. LOL

Can't wait to hear how it turns out
