Stayed at CBR it was great, did the DDP and thought it was great, parks were excellent. Seems like the perfect trip right??????????

WRONG......

Let me start off by saying that I am a married 32 year old man. I was born in the US, but moved to Canada before my 3rd birthday. All of my Vacations have been to Mexico and other parts of Canada. This was my first trip to the US, I was very excited to mingle with my fellow countrymen for the first time. What we saw while on our trip was so disturbing and at times disgusting, I think it will be a long time before we return.

The way that we saw at leat 10 children treated by their parents, would constitute child abuse in Canada. We saw kids smacked in the face repeatedly, shaken, one mother wanted her daughter to be quiet, so she held her hand over the young girls nose and mouth, and it was obvious that the child was struggling to breathe. The episode that disgusted me the most was a young man who was obviosly living with Downs Syndrom being kicked, punched and shaken by a care giver(I would assume mother). This incedent happened near the end of a day at the MK, it upset my wife to the point that she was crying and telling me to do something, when a castmember called the ?father? over, spoke to him for a moment and then he said something to the ?mother? and she stopped.

These incidents did not completely ruin our trip, but even now when I am back in my house in Canada, it tears me up to think of that young man having to live with a person like that.

PLEASE remember people these trips are for your children, let them enjoy the experience. They are kids and Disney must be very overwhelming for them. Take a deep breath and create good memories.

One other thing to all of the men out there

If you are on a bus and the bus fills up, be a man and give your seat up to a woman or an elderly gentleman. I was shocked when I would see a young man sprawled out on a seat while a grandmother was left standing.

Yep, being from the Southern US, this one really gets to me. Another one is letting small children have a seat to themselves while adults stand. Can they not sit on their parents lap and let an adult sit down? :confused3

I'm sorry your US experience was less than desirable. We're not all inconsiderate or abusive, I promise. :teeth:

Good for you guys for saying something- that is all so sad- it wouldve broken my heart to see that.

It's things like this that make you wish Disney WOULD let the local PD in undercover - SERIOUSLY - this is one of those issues that really make my blood boil :furious: You can discipline/control your children without causing them harm!
