so i'm *finally* finished making all my ADRs and plans for our 5-year anniversary WDW trip in may. we're just going for a short 4-night stay, but i think that's all we need (and it's all we can afford this year!). we don't have any kids, so i don't think it will take us as long to do things as a family who has children. anyway, i wanted to post my trip details so i could get the DIS crowd's expert opinion on my trip....any advice, tips, etc. would be appreciated. i haven't been since '92 and my DH hasn't been since before that, so it's been awhile!!! yeah, i know, tisk, tisk!!!

first of all, we have the MYW PH package plus dining. we're staying at the pop century hotel.

we live near atlanta and we're leaving (driving) saturday afternoon, may 5th, and driving to the gainesville, florida area to spend the night.

we're checking in when we get to WDW sunday morning (and by "checking in" i mean getting our tickets - i realize we won't be getting our room until later), eating lunch at the POP food court and heading to MGM. i didn't want to eat lunch at MGM b/c all the CS places don't look too appetizing! and i've heard good things about our food court. i wanted to go to MGM on sunday because my DH is an avid SW fan and i had heard that SWW were in may. i found out recently that they start the 3rd weekend of may, so that idea went down the drain. but i'd already made our TS reservations at Sci-Fi so i didn't want to change everything. we're looking forward to fantasmic, too! plus MK has extra magic hours that night so if we feel up to it we'll go over there for a couple of late-night rides.

monday we're hitting MK all day. we're having our CS meal either at pecos bill or pinnocchio village haus and then we have reservations at kona cafe for our TS meal (just hopping on the monorail for that, then going back to MK). can't wait for wishes!

tuesday we're going to epcot. we have lunch reservations at le cellier for our TS that day. i think we'll be done with epcot relatively quickly so we're planning on going to DTD/PI that night and eating at wolfgang puck's express for our CS.

wednesday is animal kingdom. we're planning on eating at either pizzafari or restaurantosaurus for our CS. we're going to CG that night for our last night's dinner at 8:00. the fireworks at MK are at 9:00 that night, so we'll be able to see them from CG. can't wait for that meal!

that's it! we're leaving thursday so we can visit an old friend in tallahassee on the way home. let me know any thoughts/tips! thanks!

by the way, i seriously am so excited that it's hard for me to sleep....and i have over 3 months to go!!!!!!!! :yay:

Hi,

Just wanted to remind you that Monday is the most crowded day of the week in the MK so you may not be able to get through everything you want.

Have a Great Trip!:goodvibes

I know you've already made your ADRs, but I think you should consider switching your days around, as you've chosen the most crowded park on each of your days. I would go to Epcot on Monday, Animal Kingdom on Tuesday, and Magic Kingdom on Wednesday. It's still plenty early to change your ADRs to fit a new schedule.

MGM on Sunday is a good choice!

Illuminations in Epcot is a fabulous show you shouldn't miss, but it's at 9:00 pm. If you leave for DTD as originally planned, you'll miss it.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

...and it looks like you wouldn't have to switch all your ADRs, either!

You could definitely keep the CG ressie for Wednesday night...You could take the monorail from MK!

Your plans for DTD on Tuesday is great, as AK closes the earliest of all the parks and it will be fun to continue the day at DTD.

You would just have to reschedule your Monday ressie at Kona....make that your Le Cellier meal (fabulous food!). And maybe you could have your TS meal on Tuesday at Rainforest (outside AK entrance) at lunchtime (fun place!)

Just some friendly suggestions!

Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.:)

thanks for your advice! my only hesitation with changing my ADRs is that we'd be going to MK the last full day of our vacation. of course that's the park i'm most looking forward to. i don't mind saving it til the end, but i'm worried that we won't get our fill of MK on that last day and then we won't have the opportunity to go back before we leave. do you think 2 adults (no kids) can do MK in one day without any problems if we go on a wednesday instead of a monday?

one more thing: monday was the only day we're there that they'll have the spectromagic parade at MK. is that something we should even worry about missing?

Yes, I think you'll be able to do MK in one day...especially if you don't go on Monday, the busiest day. If you arrive on Wednesday for rope drop and have a plan and use fast passes to their full potential, then you should have no problem. And then you can hop the monorail to the Contemporary for your fabulous last night at California Grill.

If you really want to see Spectro (it is an awesome parade!) you could do a bit of park hopping. What do you think of this idea:

Monday: EPCOT, then hop to MK for Spectro (9pm) and Wishes (10pm). It's going to be packed with people, but you can hop over just in time to see these two shows, with no other expectation.

Tuesday: Animal Kingdom, then hop back to EPCOT for a nice evening meal in World Showcase and then ILLUMINATIONS at 9pm. It's going to be packed with people, but if you have ADRs and just go for the meal and ILLUMINATIONS, you don't have to worry about accomplishing anything else. (This would mean forgetting about DTD, but I think it's definitely worth it!)

Wednesday: MK all the way!! Then relax at California Grill for dinner and a different view of Wishes.

i changed all my ADRs this morning (the ones i needed to change anyway). thanks for your advice! i really appreciate it. that's why i asked! my husband thinks i'm crazy with all this planning, but i know it will make the trip more stress-free and we'll get our money's worth. thanks!!!!! :thumbsup2
