Day 5 3/2
Get up early again, breakfast at the food court, then the bus to MK. We get thru the turnstiles and wait for rope drop. We spend the next few minutes talking to a lady and her family from WI. The funny thing is just about everyone we talk to at the parks is from WI, DH and I had a chuckle about that. At rope drop we head right to Splash Mtn, we are in the next group to board and wouldnt you know it the ride breaks. Now after our experience with test track breaking and we waiting for 1 hour, we ditch splash and head to BTM which was fun.
Its now 9:40 and we have to be at City Hall at 9:45 for our Family Magic Tour. We get there a few minutes late, but luckily we arent the last ones there, in fact I still had time to take the kids to get a few autographs while we were waiting for the other family to show. So onto our tour Robin is our guide, she really made the tour fun, really geared it towards all the kids and tried to get them all involved. On our tour it was my group, a dad and his daughter (maybe 9), and two very young grandparents with 3 girls (4-7). We head out and I immediately notice that the 3 girls are shy, staying back from the group, Robin is great trying to get them involved and to participate. We spent the next 2 hours imitating our favorite characters, (DH did Eeyore, I was Tink, OS did Mickey, and YS did Goofey) hunting for clues, hopping, skipping and jumping thru Tommorowland, sneaking into Cosmic Rays, yelling HI to Electra and running out (I think we scared some poor couple that had the whole section to themselves and were having a quiet lunch), we made a wish at the well, then made a conga line and each person had to lead the line doing a different thing (ie walk like you are on a tightrope, act like you are a ballerina, be a marching band, etc). We finally made it to a secluded place in Liberty Square, and who pops out but Peter Pan.
Lots of great pictures with Peter. He spent a great deal of time with the children individually, and with each family. He then took up over to Its a Small World, we walked in the exit, and got one whole boat to ourselves. My boys and the 9yo girl sat with Peter, who talked NON-STOP, and I mean NON-STOP. Im not sure, but I dont think he ever stopped to take a breath. DH joked to the CM that he was glad we werent taking him home, even the CM laughed. Tour was over, we had a great time, one of the boys highlights of the trip. Its a tour I highly recommend.
We stay in Liberty Square, do HM and the boat, then head to Pecos Bills for lunch. Good food, DH and the kids had their usual, I had the wrap sandwich, not bad but too much dressing. We fastpass Splash, and head to Adventureland, do jungle cruise, Aladin, walk around a bit more, use our fastpass for Splash, and catch the afternoon parade. The kids are spent by now. Although its nice to be in the sun with the warm weather, we are just not use to it, and are exhausted by 4pm.
Head back to the resort, kids swim, DH & I lay by the pool drinking Pina Coladas. We decide to head to DTD for dinner. Catch the 6:30 boat which is very relaxing. Got to DTD by 7 and make ressies for Rainforest Café, its 1 ½ hour wait for a seat. So we walk around for a while, do some shopping, head back to Rainforest at 8. One of the waiters comes over to us and offers us an outside table right away. We take it, we have been to Rainforest several times, so not being inside where all the animals are wasnt a big deal to us. Food was excellent, DH had a combo platter of ribs, shrimp and steak, I had the shrimp combo plate, 1 kid had pizza, and 1 had mozzarella sticks. We're so stuffed, no dessert for us.
Catch the boat back to POR and call it a night.
The not so good nothing.
