I'm loving this. We did the same Jamaica tour and also had Laverne as our guide. I really like the look of the decor on the treasure. Just may have to see what options are available after our European cruise this fall.

Day 8
Thursday, February 27, 2025
Sea Day 2



Today was our last sea day on the ship. The week was flying by. We had a tasting scheduled. Other than that, my plan was to get as much packing done as possible so I didn’t have to do too much tomorrow after Castaway Cay and to just enjoy the ship!

DD was up and out to get her coffee this morning.



I slept in a little and headed up to breakfast at Marcelline’s at about 9:15 AM. I love the upside-down flower pots from the ceiling. I caught up with DH and DD and ate outside.

Kavin had been in to straighten our room and I found this little guy.

The artwork in all of the stairwells was phenomenal. It was impossible to take pictures of them all.

I met DD and her friends (who also happen to be fraternity brothers of mine, as we are all members of the same professional business fraternity) at the Skipper Society Lounge at 10:45 AM for General Disney Trivia – Level 1. I know, I know, I wasn’t going to play trivia games, but it was a chance to finally sit in the lounge and get a drink.

I loved all of the details around our booth. The lounge is supposedly on the jungle cruise boats named the Empress.

We perused the menu.





We found the secret menu, which was of Club 33 drinks from various parks on the iPad.



I ordered the Piranha Punch. It came in a box, similar to the Chilling Challenge. When the box opened, smoke came out.





A nice little surprise at the bottom.



Oh yeah, we did play trivia too and got 18/20. Unfortunately, the place was packed so it was hard to see the screens with the questions and multiple choice answers from the booth we were in with all the people standing.

Day 8
Continued

The girls went on their merry way so I found my way out to Deck 4 to check out what was going on outside. Evidently, we were passing some land and the sea birds were having a field day.







I then headed to the Royal Hall at 11:30 AM to see Jack-Jack’s Diaper Dash. Well, “see” was the operative word as the place was packed. I decided to find a chair over behind the check in for the kid’s club and just listen to the Diaper Dash. The entertainment staff does a great job with this event.





After the dash it was time to head up to lunch to get something in my stomach as we had Chocolate and Liquor Tasting at 1:30 PM.

Sometimes you just want to eat from the Kid’s menu.



A little before 1:30 PM we headed down to the Scat Cat Lounge for our tasting. Unfortunately, DNC and DNJ could not attend. DD was really looking forward to this. She attended her first one on our Mexican Riviera Cruise in 2023.







Tom was once again our host and it was a fun tasting. We all enjoyed the various chocolates and cheese with our liquors.

After the tasting, it was time to go up and do some packing. In case your interested in what type of electrical outlets are available in a stateroom, I took some pictures.

Here is one side of the bed. You have 2 standard US outlets and 2 USB-C type outlets.



On the other side of the bed, you have a European type plug, a USB-C and USB-A.



On the vanity, you have 2 US outlets, an outlet for the provided hair dryer and 2 USB-C outlets.



There was also a USB plus within the Murphy Bed frame. We had 3 people in our stateroom needing to recharge phones, watches, eReaders, camera batteries and Magic Bands. We had no issues with the number of available outlets.

Looks like we had some weather off the port bow.



We made good progress towards Castaway Cay today.



Dinner tonight was in Coco. Our party number was down by half as DNJ, DNC, DJ and the kids went to the early Beauty and the Beast show. Therefore, dinner was subdued. Because of our table location, I had a hard time seeing, let alone hearing the show. I read that there was some sickness going through the performing staff and affected some of the dinner shows. Either way, unfortunately, I was not impressed with Coco or the show. I wanted to like the restaurant, but I wasn’t crazy about any of it.

We went back to our stateroom after dinner, before the show and this dude waiting on our bed, as if asking, “where have you been, I’ve been waiting.” We all chuckled. It was awesome! This time Kavin borrowed DD’s sunglasses! By far, my favorite towel animal yet. Unfortunately, he was holding the dreaded tip envelopes, a sign that the end of the cruise is nearing.







DD and I were looking forward to seeing Beauty and the Beast tonight. We lined up at about 8:00 PM. We met up with DN’s Mom and DN’s sister in line and found seats together on the far right side of the stage.





The show is an excellent production and I enjoyed seeing it again.

It was a very nice relaxing sea day. Unfortunately, the week was starting to take a toll on some of our party and our gatherings were dwindling.

Day 9
Friday, February 28, 2025
Castaway Cay






Today was the day we returned to Castaway Cay for the first time in 16 years. There was no Pelican Plunge and The Flying Dutchman was still in the water back then.

Anyway, by the time we woke up a little before 7:30 AM, we were already docked at Castaway Cay. We were told that we would probably not be allowed off until about 8:30 AM as it takes about an hour to get the island prepared for our visit.

It was an absolutely perfect day!





After we got breakfast, we got the go ahead to disembark.



We met up with our DN’s and DN’s mom at the elevators. DNC had been cleared by medical to leave the ship. We decided to walk to the beach. Of course, there were many stops along the way.











We made or way to the Family beach and found the perfect shady spot not too far from where you checked out snorkeling gear. This is where we made camp. We had shade and hammocks within reach.



DD got off the ship with her friends. We had reserved snorkel gear for her so she could do some snorkeling. She and one of her friends had a great time finding the statues.











For the most part, DH and I just chilled on the beach. I was raised in the desert and not a big fan of the beach or swimming in the ocean. But, it is nice to just sit and read in the beautiful weather. I went and did some shopping before we headed to Cookie’s for lunch and I got my Strawberry soft serve cone!

After lunch and some more relaxing, it was time to get my Bahama Mama!



They were showing a matinee performance of Moana so I thought it would be a great idea to see it early in a not so packed theater, so we headed back to the ship at about 2:00 PM.

Of course, we had to stop along the way.

Day 9
Continued

We made it back onboard to change clothes before we headed to the theater. There was no line to get in.









The theater was not packed, but we were on the left side of the stage. DN’s joined us.

There are not enough superlatives to tell you have absolutely spectacular this show is! It is by far, the stand-out best show in the fleet! It will be on Broadway someday; it is that good! It was such a privilege to be able to see the opening cast perform this show. We just watched the Making of the Treasure on Disney+ after we got home and it was so cool to see the same performers we saw on the ship rehearse the show a year before they even debuted it on the ship.

If you have any doubts about sailing on the Treasure, look no further for a reason than to see this production of Moana!

After the show, we headed back to the stateroom to finish packing and bid farewell to Castaway Cay.





Our last dinner was at 1923. It was the Captain’s Gala menu.

I ordered:

Chervil-Dill Marinated Shrimp
Oven Baked Lobster Tail
Chocolate Lava Cake



We had a beautiful sunset that night.



Since, we saw the matinee, we decided not to see the evening performance of Moana. After dinner, we changed our clothes and got ready to put our luggage out for the night.

DH and I headed up to the photo kiosks to see about getting the few photos we had taken this trip. We decided on the photo taken at the terminal. DH then went back to the stateroom, while I went to meet DD. On the way, one of the crew members spotted a rubber duck hidden on the stair rail. I had heard of hidden ducks, but never found one. He let me have it, so I gave it to the little one.



DD was going to hang out with DN’s DD and her son, so we went to see Mickey and Donald with him and did some last-minute shopping, just to keep the little one walking.

I love that you can buy towel animals now.



After DN’s DD left to take the little one to bed, DD and I went to the Haunted Parlor for one last time. I can't tell you how much I loved this lounge. It is my absolute favorite throughout the fleet.







We left the parlor and made our way to the Royal Hall. It wasn’t advertised, but at 10:00 PM they do a “Arabian Nights Light Show” in the Royal Hall with the lights. It was really cool.

Then we made our way to the 5th deck to watch Treasure Found! It is basically, the good bye show on the other ships. Mickey and Minnie came one stage and then various characters were placed around the hall for quick meet and greets.

Then, Coriander came out and asked what Treasure we found during our cruise and some characters appeared. Each memory would have a different color that the chandelier would change too as well as our Magic+ bands.

















Basically, at the end of the show it was determined that the Treasure Found was our memories made during the week!

After that, the crowds cleared out and it was time to find our beds. We had a very early breakfast in 1923. We had prearranged with Kavin to keep our carry-ons in our room during breakfast, knowing that we would be back by up 8 to retrieve them. He had no problem. I also had to make my dining reservations for an upcoming trip to Disney World at 7:00 AM. I’m not complaining, because it would have been 5:00 AM at home!

We couldn’t have asked for a better day at Castaway Cay. We just enjoyed being outside and soaking up the atmosphere. It was a great way to end our cruise!

Thank you for a great TR. My condolences on DN daughter. I’ve enjoyed reading about your adventures with her over the years and I’m sure this was a bitter sweet trip for everyone. We head to WDW this August for a week and the treasure next year. I appreciate you including the wdw in your tr. maybe we will see your daughter in Epcot.

Enjoyed your trip report. I do have a question about the secret menu in SS, I knew about this from other reports I had read. We just got off the treasure and my DD asked about the club 33 drinks and was told it was only for members.

Unfortunately, I don't have any real insight. I just knew there was a secret menu, however, we did not try to order from the menu so I don't know if we'd had been allowed to order or not.

Day 10
Saturday, March 1, 2025
Disembarkation & Final Thoughts

When we got up, we had arrived at Port Canaveral. We had to get up way too early to get to our 6:45 AM breakfast in 1923. As usual, the breakfast was the same table service breakfast offered every morning at 1923. And, as usual, our breakfast came out cold. We handed out all of our tip envelopes to our servers. On a good note, however, I was able to get all of my dining reservations complete for our upcoming Disney World trip.

All but 2 of our travelling party were headed back to Disney World. So, we wished the 2 safe travels and told everybody else we’d see them later that evening at Disney Springs! We headed back up to our stateroom to gather our carry-on bags.

The disembarkation was very smooth. Our green Tinkerbell luggage tag was called fairly early and we were off the ship by 7:45 AM.



We found our luggage very quickly and was able to breeze through customs without even pulling out our passports.

We then walked across the street to the parking garage and started the drive back to Orlando. That last sight of the ship is always so sad!

We were back to DD’s apartment by 9:00 AM.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I liked the Treasure better than the Dream. The Magic and Wonder are still my favorites, but as the fleet evolves, I think DCL did a good job with the Treasure theming. With that being said, however, I was not impressed with the Treasure’s layout.

I’m not sure I like having only 2 elevator banks on the ship. Elevator etiquette was abysmal, people would crowd the doors to get on and not give you room to get off. The elevator cars were deep. When you got on the elevator, everybody would stop just inside the door and not go to the back even though there was ample space, forcing you to squeeze through several people. I thought the World of Marvel restaurant entrance at the end of elevator bays was a bad design. If people are waiting to be let in, there was a major traffic jams with people getting on and off the elevators.

I also wasn’t a big fan of the long windowless hallways. I like looking outside as you walk from one end of the ship to another, like on the Magic & Wonder. Why are the best port windows in the jewelry stores? You couldn’t even sit and watch the sea go by.

I found a lack of quiet places to sit. All the seats on decks 3, 4, and 5 are near the grand hall and meet & greet areas. Therefore, they were anything but quiet. There was a bank of seats near port holes on Deck 3 on the port side of the ship near the Scat Cat Bar, but it was across from the Kid’s Club entrance, so it wasn’t very quiet either. We did find some of the chaise lounges on Deck 4 outside, but they didn’t have any cushions, at least that we could find, and they were very hard after a while.

Also, I cannot remember being on a cruise with more kids running everywhere, especially up and down the stateroom halls.

As mentioned before, I thought the theming was outstanding. The lounges were awesome, and weren’t stuck in the back of the ship like on the Dream. Sarabi was my favorite venue, although space between rows was very narrow and non-existent with a badly placed table.

Overall, the staterooms were beautiful and spacious and we had plenty of storage space. Our verandah overlooked a deck below us rather than the ocean, but we didn’t book one of the bump out cabins.

As usual, the performers on board were outstanding. While we didn't interact with the performers in their roles as character attendants, we thoroughly enjoyed the 2 shows we saw. Like, I said, Moana was phenomenal!

We also enjoyed the entertainment crew. Danny was a great club host in Sarabi!

I would gladly sail on the Treasure again.

Thus ends this trip report. The title of this report is a reminder that life is fleeting and one should treasure its memories. While we didn’t get to celebrate Morgan as much as we would have liked on this cruise, she was always on our mind and we were reminded that we do need to treasure our memories every day! I love your report and your pictures are all great! You really captured so much of the theming and ambiance around the ship, and I didn't get as many pictures of things like that. It sounds like you managed to fit more activities and entertainment in than we did, and I couldn't tell if maybe you had a little bit smaller crowd (ours was a spring break cruise, so was definitely very full!). Though that diaper dash picture looked incredibly crowded! We did several character meets, and a fair amount of pool deck time, either riding Aqua Mouse, or watching funnel vision (I saw at least 4 entire movies up there, and parts of others), so maybe it's just that we did different things. I also get pretty wiped out by around 10pm, so it's rare that I'm going to be starting anything after that! If I had known about the Arabian Nights at 10 though, I would have loved to see that!

I also love your excursion in Cozumel. We've been 2x, once to Nachi Cocom and once we did the reef restoration / snorkel. I feel like there is a lot to choose from there, and none of it is too far of a drive.

I agree with so much of what you say. The overall theming of the ship is fantastic, the lounge theming is great too, and I love that they are in a more central location. I agree they are lacking in quieter spaces, and they definitely need cushions on deck 4 loungers! The layout was definitely not a deal breaker, but it really did seem odd/unfortunate with the upper deck dead ends, deck 4 not wrapping around, and the cut off adult space.

Despite a few shortcomings, I also would happily sail Treasure again, and I feel like there is plenty left that I could explore and experience, so maybe sometime in the future! They would have to mix up the itineraries a bit though, I've done eastern and western now, and for me it's more about that than anything to do with the ship.

Thank you for reading! One of the reasons we had never sailed on the larger ships until recently was because they were doing exclusively caribbean or Bahaman cruises. We like visiting other parts of the world too and until 2023, the big ships weren't sailing there. But, you go where the ship takes you and we wanted to be on the Treasure. That doesn't mean I won't do the Caribbean again, but I hope they take the new ships to other ports sooner than later.
