I'm back!! Thanks for being patient with me, everyone! :lovestruc

So now onto Day 2.....Part 1:

Sunday morning the 27th dawned bright and glorious. We were at Disney World, so why wouldn't it? :rotfl:

The previous day had been travel day, and so we were all WIPED OUT from being up early. I woke up the previous day at 3AM and couldn't get back to sleep so needless to say, I was a tired lady. The rooms at Kidani do a really good job of keeping the light out in the morning, and so I actually had to be woken up that morning at 8:30! I usually never sleep in that late but it felt really good to get some rest!

We all got up lesiurely, got ready and walked to Jambo House for breakfast. A little complaint I have about Kidani is the distance from Kidani to Jambo. It's can't be any more than 1/4 mile or so, but it feels like quite a trek. Since there is no counter service in Kidani, we had to walk over to Jambo for our counter service meals. Not that we didn't need the exercise after all the calories we had consumed :rotfl:. I wonder if Kidani will add a counter service at any point.

But I digress....

After your standard fare of eggs and Mickey waffles (YUM! And why does a waffle taste so much better when it's Mickey?), we headed over to Hollywood Studios!

Oh, how I love those trees! :lovestruc Just seeing it really put me in the spirit of the season!

I of course took the obligatory ToT pic; on our way into the park, we also stopped to watch the HSM3 show - it was great, those kids do a great job!

I should have titled this installment "Things I have Never Done Before at Hollywood Studios" because on this day at Hollywood Studios, I saw attractions and ate at places I never had before. Try not to be too shocked by this list. :lmao:

- Great Movie Ride (it was fun! Justin was bit scared in parts, though)
- The Ariel stage show (Loved this one!!)
- American Idol Experience (So cool!)
- Had dinner at Sci-Fi (YUM!)

:scared1: Shocked, I say, shocked! :scared1: But it was great to do things that were new to me. I admit that in most trips, I fall into the trap of doing the same rides, eating at the same places, etc. So it was great to have some variety. :thumbsup2

So unfortunately, I don't have many pictures from this day. But we had a great day. American Idol is AWESOME....I highly recommend it. We had 3 people perform (2 guys and 1 girl) and they were great. The stage is incredible and you really get the feeling you are in the audience at American Idol. So I will for sure be going back to that one. :thumbsup2

At dinner time, our group split up. My aunt and uncle went to California Grill for a nice dinner and my sister and I took the kids to Sci Fi.

We had a great time!! Justin was loving the movie and TV clips they show and that really kept him entertained for the meal. We all had burgers, fries and shakes (except no shake for me) and it was delicious! Even though it was dinner time and burgers were not on the dinner menu, we were able to order them, and they were only $12.99 each! Can't beat that price for dinner! :thumbsup2

I'll leave you with some fuzzy pictures of our Sci Fi dinner. I promise there are days with more pictures - I think I was just so happy to be at WDW I neglected to take more pictures! :rotfl:

Day 3 coming soon! Thanks for reading!

YEAH! :cheer2::cheer2:...an update! I know exactly what you mean about taking in rides/attractions you'd never seen or done before on this trip. It was so crowded, we just decided to enjoy some of the "less popular" attractions during this time. (That's how we wound up doing the Enchanted Tiki Room in MK! ;) )

Sci-Fi is one resturant we've never eaten at before in 8 trips! I want to, but then I get scared off by a review on this board. But you say you really enjoyed it? I may have to try it in March when it's just DDs and me! :thumbsup2

Great first day at HS. Glad you got to sleep in late! :) Those rooms are dark, aren't that. I had bruises all week from triping over things. Glad you tried some new things. That's always fun!

The 27th - we were headed that way! :cool1:

Mickey waffles do taste better. Even just having a Mickey waffle iron at home, it still makes them better than just plain round ones. :)

I am at school, so I can't see your pictures (so not cool of you to do this to me), but I look forward to coming back and seeing them this evening from home.

We've eaten at Sci-Fi twice. The food has been fine, nothing spectacular, but we're there to eat fairly normal food and have a fun atmosphere.

Yay!! An update!! Looks like you had a wonderful day at HS!! My girls just LOVE the Little Mermaid stage show!! :lovestruc Glad you were able to try some new things!

Oh my gosh Katie, I was over here and first page at that! I forgot to subscribe! Now I have some catching up to do!

Sometimes sleeping in is just what you need!

Mickey waffles do always taste better than regular waffles!

Woo hoo for trying so many new, fun things at DHS!

Isn't Sci Fi a scream??? I love the theming and the movie clips there!

We like Sci-Fi...the food wasn't gourmet, but with 4 kids in tow burgers and fries really hit the spot. And the price was good - there were 6 of us total (2 kids meals and 4 adults) and most everyone had a burger, fries and milkshake; we had gratuity added in and I think our bill was like $85, which isn't bad for a table service meal!

I had bruises too! The one on my knee stuck around for about 2 weeks after we got home. :rotfl:

Right, we felt the same way about Sci-Fi. And our bill wasn't a crazy price, so that was a major plus!

Justin (the 3 year old) LOVED those movie clips. He tends to get restless when we go out to eat and so it was perfect having a distraction for him!

Howdy! More updates coming...I think I will do Day 3 tomorrow so you can all have an update for the weekend. :goodvibes

So I just had to brag a bit and share....

Here are 2 pictures of Caroline over Christmas. Isn't she just the cutest?! :lovestruc We saw her this past weekend (since it was a long weekend with MLK day, her parents came up) and we had the best time with her!

Isn't it fun to try new things?!! I have been blessed to go to WDW 3x's now and during my last visit, I was solo the first 4 days and I decided to try a couple of new thrill rides. I went on Space Mountain for the first time since 1983 at Disneyland, but I can't say I enjoyed it - guess my age is creeping up on me :lmao: I also tried R&R and same reaction - maybe going upside down in loops isn't my thing anymore ;) But I still love ToT and EE!!

I can't wait to go back & eat at SciFi with all my kids this year. Still enjoying your TR!

Hello Katie!

I just decided that our next WDW trip will be over Christmas vacation, so I'm VERY interested in reading your report!

Your family sounds like a great bunch!
