Our "Totally Tinsel" Christmas vacation! UPDATES Page 14 - two!!

Okay, our rooms were in the same area AND we were both at DHS on the 27th. And MeMom was there too! Yet, we all missed each other until NYE!!

Sounds like a fun day at DHS!!! I wonder if we ran into your Aunt and Uncle at the Cali Grill that night since we were there too!

So I just had to brag a bit and share....

Here are 2 pictures of Caroline over Christmas. Isn't she just the cutest?! :lovestruc We saw her this past weekend (since it was a long weekend with MLK day, her parents came up) and we had the best time with her!

Oh, I was just on my way to Disney World. We still had a long drive, and then we had that stop.
Remember Brooklynn's "What is this place?" :rotfl:

KATIE!!! Shame Shame on me for not finding your TR sooner!!! I am all caught up though and I love it! Your nieces and nephews are ADORABLE! I know you had fun watching them react to all of the characters and rides. I happen to LOVE the Movie Ride, so I am so happy that you did it :thumbsup2 I can imagine Justin getting a little freaked out. I was fortunate that Aiden fell asleep again this year. :lmao:

Abby did look for the gangster AND alien part. I was so proud of her!

I would love to try Sci Fi one day!!! Seems like sooo much fun. I am so happy to report that I am subbing

Awww....Caroline is such a cutie. She looks like she's having the best time with that stocking!

Isn't it fun to try new things?!! I have been blessed to go to WDW 3x's now and during my last visit, I was solo the first 4 days and I decided to try a couple of new thrill rides. I went on Space Mountain for the first time since 1983 at Disneyland, but I can't say I enjoyed it - guess my age is creeping up on me :lmao: I also tried R&R and same reaction - maybe going upside down in loops isn't my thing anymore ;) But I still love ToT and EE!!

I can't wait to go back & eat at SciFi with all my kids this year. Still enjoying your TR!

Thanks! I am impressed that you ride ToT...that is one that I just cannot do! :scared1: I did it once and I thought I was going to pass out - I just don't like drops. I am a scardey-cat. :scared1:

Hello Katie!

I just decided that our next WDW trip will be over Christmas vacation, so I'm VERY interested in reading your report!

Your family sounds like a great bunch!

Kathy

Thanks, Kathy, for reading! :goodvibes

I know!! How funny is it that we were SO close to each other all week and then just saw each other NYE!? Crazy! :rotfl:

Hi Katie!! :flower3: Welcome!

Thank you. :goodvibes My brother said she judged her Christmas presents this year on how they tasted. :lmao:

Hello readers! I hope I haven't lost anyone with my sporadic posting....work has been busy lately (which is unusual, but a good thing) so I haven't had much time to post. But never fear, let's keep this party rolling! :cool1:

Monday, December 28th: Part 1

(This day was JAM PACKED!)

Monday came EARLY. We had breakfast that morning at Tusker House at 8:30AM and so we were up, dressed and at the bus stop by 7:30AM. Not all of us were awake....

We got in the park, and saw this lovely site!

We arrived at Tusker House and were among the first to go in!

The gal at the hostess desk commented on my Mickey necklace and each time she saw me said "There's that QVC Mickey again!" (If you are curious as to what the necklace looks like, see here, mine is in the Silver: http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.J142900.desc.Disney-Mickey-Mouse-Crystal-Pendant-with-Chain)

So we made our way to our table and got seated. We had this very good juice; I can't think of what they called it, but I know it's a combination of different juices like orange and pineapple - YUM!

Our characters were Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Mickey. They each came around and I think we got some pretty cute shots:

We liked Tusker House, but the kids weren't very hungry that morning and so we pretty much wasted the money, since they all only ate one small plate of food each and it was over $200. :scared1: But you live and learn, right?

After our breakfast, we decided to go on the safari, one of my absolute favorite things to do on property.

(Cont in next post)

After we left Tusker House, it was onto the Safari!

I'll just show you lots of my pictures next; but we all agreed that we saw more animals on this safari than we ever had before! It was great!

There were of course many more, but I won't bore you with more pictures of animal butts. :lmao:

After leaving the Safari, we then decided to brave the rides and go see....EVEREST!

(Continued in next post)

Everest is my FAVORITE ride. I am not a huge coaster fan, but I love this one. The look and feel is just incredible; plus it's a lot of fun!

We took advantage of the Single Ride Line quite a few times this trip. After we had eaten, the older boys ran ahead of us and before we got on the safari, went and got fastpasses for Everest. So we were armed with those, but we also wanted to take advantage of the only 10 MINUTE WAIT on Everest; and that was during Christmas week! :thumbsup2

I must be honest and admit that we rode about 3 times in the single ride line. It was awesome! My aunt, sister and Justin (3 year old) had gone to look at the petting zoo and after they met up with us, they used the fastpasses and rode as well.

Here are some what I think are cute pics from Everest:

There it is!

Getting closer now!

As you can tell by our coats and sweaters, it was chilly again that day. But we didn't care, oh no - cause a cold day at Disney is better than a cold day at home! :thumbsup2

After we rode Everest about 87 times, :rotfl:, we then walked over to the Dinosaur area. At 3, Justin is still a bit young to ride a lot of the rides, so we tried to get him on as many as he could. I am not sure what this one was called, but he and I rode it together and he LOVED it!

While the adults pondered what to do with the rest of the day (by this point it was only about 11AM), the kids played in the Boneyard play area.

It was then decision time - what did everyone want to do with the rest of the day? popcorn::

Coming next - Monday, part 2!

Yeay for an Animal Kingdom update! Our waiter called that delicious juice, Jungle Juice, the couple of times we have been to Tusker House. It's amazing, isn't it?

I always love seeing pictures of AK, and I am glad you got to ride Everest as many times as you did! Gotta love that single rider line! :thumbsup2

I have heard great things about Tusker!!! Thanks for posting pics. YIKES! $200!! It always makes me happy that we pre-pay for the dining plan when I see the totals!! Even though we already paid for it, it just makes you feel better sometimes to pre-pay! :lmao:

I love the Safari too!!! And I am SO JEALOUS to know that you rode Everest soooo many times!!! Amazing. Cant wait to see what you do next :goodvibes

Enjoyed the tale of your AK morning. Sounds like a great morning. :thumbsup2 We love that juice at Tusker House too. It reminds me of the juice at the 'Ohana breakfast.

I've seen the Mickey necklace on qvc before  ...love it!

First of all--LOVE the Mickey necklace!!!! :lovestruc Tusker House looks like fun! We've never eaten there bit my SIL did on their last trip and really enjoyed it! Wow--I can't believe how many times ya'll rode EE!!! I'm hoping to ride it this next trip as it was closed due to all the rain last May!!

That Mickey necklace is super cute!! Did the CM recognize where it was from, or did you tell her?

Tusker House always sounds sooooo good! I really want to try it! People say it's similar to Boma breakfast - which I LOVE, so I think it would be a hit! $200 though!:eek::eek: Those increased Christmas prices hit us too....:sad2:

I completely forgot about the Single Riders Line on Everest!! :headache: We probably could have ridden it more than what we got to! All well! HUGE SCORE on the 10 minute wait! That is unreal!!!!! Was that day overall a good crowd day, or was it just because it was still early? We were at MK this day. Great Everest pictures!

Sorry it was so cold, but at least the sun was shining! We love Expedition Everest too!! Unfortunately for us, it was broken the last time we were there. :sad1:

Most people love it, but it was a little more than I wanted in a coaster. I am going to do it one more time before I make my final decision on it, though.

Triceratop Spin was the Dinoland ride.

Looking forward to seeing what the rest of the day holds.

Look at that cutie and his great big "cheese!" :goodvibes

(Don't you just love Daisy's eyelashes.... I wish I knew what brand of mascara she uses!)

Great Safari... perhaps the animals are not so sleepy when it's a bit chilly out!

Hey Becky - I hope you get to ride it - it is very fun! I am not a roller coaster person, but I love this ride!

Hey Brooke!

The gal recognized the necklace, I didn't tell her. Funny, huh? :goodvibes

That single ride line saved us. We left Everest that day before lunch but it was already NUTS by the time we left. We were going against the crowd on our way to the bus and it was bad - we all held hands to make sure we wouldn't get separated! :scared1:

Sorry it was so cold, but at least the sun was shining! We love Expedition Everest too!! Unfortunately for us, it was broken the last time we were there. :sad1:

Oh no - broken Everest, that stinks! :scared1:

Hi Kathy! Isn't that a great picture?! He used to not be very good at smiling for pictures, but now he almost smiles too much, if there is such a thing. :goodvibes

Good call on the safari - I bet you are right! :thumbsup2

Part 2 of our day is coming soon, but before I give you that, we have an announcement........

WE'RE GOING ON THE DREAM IN FEBRUARY 2011!!! :cool1:  :dance3:

It's a girl's only trip; so far, it's my aunt Wendy (who I went with on this past trip), my mom, Wendy's step-mom Dee, and my aunt Sheila. We've also asked a few other aunts and my girl cousins so we might have 10-12 people on this cruise!!!

We are SO EXCITED! We're not sure of the exact dates; I originally wanted to go on the 3-day cruise on February 10th because that is my birthday, :cheer2: but we decided on the 4 day instead! We're doing a February date, just not 100% sure of the dates yet.

I can't wait to go on the Dream!!!

Have a great day, everyone!
