Me Me Me (but you knew that already, didn't you???)

Does anyone have any definite details on the medal (or lack thereof) for the Minnie? I totally understand if it is not as big or flashy as the half and full medals but I am hoping it is something more than the 5k rubber medals. I really wanted a "set" of medals with Donald (2006), Mickey (2007), Minnie (2006), the castle (2007), and maybe even Goofy someday so having an actual metal medal would be perfect!

I'm curious if they are offering them at all.

Before this year--I don't believe they had medals at the 5K. This was the first year I noticed it mentioned when you registered. The lack of mention of it for the Minnie has me concerned.

I hope we'll have a nice medal to show for the Minnie. I'm hoping that since they're going to all the trouble of a 2-day Expo and advertising this a big deal women's event, they'll not short us with a plastic medal.

I'm counting about 9 of us so far going for the Minnie. Anyone up for a lunch/dinner meet on Sat? Which restaurant manager should we irritate this time :rolleyes1

Count me in for doing the Minnie, room already booked and training has begun.

I registered mom(NYcpa) and myself for the Minnie(Women Run the World) 15K. Figured sis(Stitch_lover_Sith) could register herself using her CM discount. We are booked at ASSp(AAA) right now but are hoping to actually stay at AKL using sis' CM discount or AP rates(which Disney hasn't released yet).

My b-day is that Sat and we are currently booked at Coral Reef for dinner but we would be interested in another WISH meet for a meal. Does anyone think that there would be interest in doing shirts again? I think that there would have to be a minimum number of us interested in order for it to be cost effective. I could spearhead the ordering and such but would need someone with some creativity(where's Sunny/Plutosmyfav) to create a design.

Also we need to combine this thread with the people listed on a thread started a couple months back. I'm not DISboard savvy enough to link the two but hopefully by dropping the hint someone who is can do it. Thanks in advance to whomever does it.

CAM - I can tell that we have all spent a lot of time "together" this year as I was thinking about starting a thread like this ealier this after noon and then the work pulled me away :rotfl2:

My answer is maybe. My DR visit wasn't the greatest news but I will next be seeing a sports orthopedic so we'll see what he has to say. I will also be seeing a PT soon and will hopefully no something soon.

I so much want to be with you all especially since I missed the 1/2.

I have an ortho appt for my knees - well, actually later today. Onec I see how that goes, I will be better prepared to make a decision as to what I should do. Right now I'm leaning towards the 5K. I'm just not sure I will be ready for 15K by then, especially at a 15 min mile pace.

Even if my knees end up saying I'm not able to do any of the races I am still up for a meet. :cool1:

Me too, me too!!!! I have decided I'm doing it even if I can't get anyone to come with me. Mom is "thinking about it" and my best friend is having scheduling conflicts with her DH work(he can't take off to keep kids). So not sure who'll be with me yet. But I definately doing it.

I would love to meet up on Saturday. I may be staying at Pop. We stayed there for 1 night this last time & loved it. Plus, since this is a no family trip, I promised DH to make it "economical"

My current plan is to come in early Saturday morning and stay through Monday night. Am hoping Rhonda can make that work on her end. Not sure yet where we are staying, but am looking to do it as economically as possible, since the rest of my family isn't coming.

Minnie -- so glad you are seeing a sports specialist. We need you to get to feeling 100% as soon as possible! :goodvibes:

Mel -- Sunny is at WDW until Thursday, so hopefully we will hear from her this weekend.

Nancy -- I hope your appt went well and that you can be at a start line in May.

I am all in for a WISH lunch or dinner on Saturday. Pretty much anything is fine with me as far as location, as long as the WDW buses or monorail can get us there.

Just got an e-mail for "special" minnie rates for AKL, AsSports, and POR.

$194, $84, $104 per night respectively.

I wonder if I can get a Florida Residents Rate that is cheaper.

I can forward the e-mail to anyone who PM's me, not sure if I can post the website as it is a travel company that is the official travel planner for the weekend.

Did you all notice that grad nights are during the Minnie Marathon weekend??

I wonder what that will do to both crowd levels in the parks and how booked the resorts are :confused3

When we had grad night many moons ago (disturbing aside...my 20th high school reunion is this year :faint: ), the seniors came up on chartered buses and left that night after it was over. No overnight stays for 400 hormonal teenagers :scared1: . MK was closed to other guests during grad night. I think EPCOT was still open regular hours but [cough, cough] MGM and AK didn't exist yet.

Thank you for the info. I asked about this on theme park board to and it let me to a thread that said that other than MK closing early the grads are barely noticeable. Still a slow time in the world. However with all the people coming in for the Minnie weekend that may change.

I am all signed up and my training starts tomorrow (we just got back from vacation).

Christy

I agree you should be okay.

Gradnight runs from like 10pm or so to 5am. So the hotel for the night is one big party in the park and busses return the kids back home. It is a destination event (meaning no impact to day guests nor the hotels).

Hi, Christy! Welcome!

So do we want to get new shirts for the Minnie? Think Disney would be offended if we had shirts that said, "WISHers run the World" :teeth:
