Ate at Wolfgang Puck Express in downtown disney for the first time today. This is a hidden gem and something I highly recommend, especially on the dining plan. Cost is a counter service meal and the quality and selection is better than anything else I've experienced at a counter service restaurant at Disney. I had a turkey club with fries, son had a spicy chicken pizza, wife had a greek salad with chicken and daughter had a pepperoni pizza. All were very good quality and service was fairly prompt. The creme brulee and cheesecake for dessert were great as well. There simply is no comparison between this place and other counter service meals at the parks. Only problem is it is at DTD. Oh, and eat at the market place one, not the other one -- huge difference in menus.

I agree, it really is a hidden gem. Our family loves eating at WPE, very yummy! Their breakfast food is amazing too- especially the corn flake french toast, breakfast pocket, and the omelette... all 3 of those were soo good!

Glad you enjoyed it. We stay at POFQ so WPE is our dinner choice if we don't have an ADR.( or want to watch a game at ESPN).

I've never had their omlets, but agree that other two are really, really good. We go to WGP Express every trip at least once. We love their breakfast, as well as lunch/dinner. My husband loves their bacon wrapped meatloaf and I love their salads, pizza, salmon, and sandwiches. We also like their tropical tea. They are a really good deal if you are on the DDP, but we go even if we are paying OOP.

I hadn't realised that there were two with different menus. Is one better than the other?

Isnt it a piece of heaven?? I love this place!! :cloud9: I'll never understand how people on the DP can go to EoS over WGPE. I just cant. Well, if youre paying OOP I can understand. EoS is cheaper. But on the DP, WGPE is the way to go. Now that i'm hooked on WGPE, i simply cannot resist the place while at DTD. My mind wont let me pick another restaurant over WGPE. Even while paying OOP a few times, I knew EoS would be cheaper but I didnt care. I go for food quality, so i gladly pay OOP for WGPE. They have the best food i've tried in a long time. Its always the highlite meal of our trip. The meatloaf is simply to die for. So is the spag/balls, and the pizza. Unbelieveable place.

I'm not a sandwich person, but EoS is a highlight for me... That said, when it's one-or-the-other, we do WPE. But if I haven't eaten at both at least twice, then I screwed up somewhere.

My dad, the ultimate sandwich connoisseur, thought that eating at EoS was a religious experience. He skipped it initially because of the line, but we went back later and I convinced him that, despite the line, it'd move fast. He was so ambivalent, but when the line moved faster then it'd seem like it would, and he got a good look at the sandwiches, he was pretty pumped. He had his first bite, and he was in heaven. He ended up getting back in line, ordering 5 more sandwiches, and stocking our resort fridge. LoL!

We ate there for the first time this trip! Delicious! DH had a pizza, and I had the rotisserie turkey sandwich. That sandwich was amazing! The creme brulee for dessert was real, authentic creme brulee. The sugar cookie with rainbow sprinkles really hit the spot as well. We've found a new favorite!

Love this restaurant! My husband ate here several times when we were in Disneyland and also when we were at Disney last time. Good food with reasonable prices.

We haven't tried it yet but we will be on our fall trip this year but not the spring one as of now. Hmmmmm lol

Aw thats nice. Glad he liked it. Its great when that happens, when you tell someone how good a restaurant is, and they turn out to love it just as much as you do. I just dont understand the hype. I didnt think their sandwiches were that great. At all. :confused3

My family and I LOVE Wolfgang Puck Express!!!!

Every time we've been on the DDP, we opt for the counter service bacsue we eat there more than anywhere. The table service meals we want, we just pay for...o'hana, Boma, Biergarten. Just cannot say enough about it.

I agree! The butternut squash soup is excellent as well! And my kids raved about the mac and cheese. It was better than some of our table service meals during our last trip.

Honestly, don't take this the wrong way please because that's not how it's intended, but I think the appeal of the Earl is a regional thing. Like, up here in NH, we're not a big "sandwich" crowd. But then when I talk to my sister in TX or my friends in CA, or especially the college town areas (and to some extent places like Boston, NYC), the search for a bready sandwich with a ton of meat and crunch is like a lifestyle. It's like the people on here who shrug about the clam bake or, way back when, the New England Lobster Bake, but up north we go nuts for it. I think the appeal is maybe not largely defined by region, but certainly influenced.

We like EoS but it is what it is. A chain sandwich place that's like a quiznos but better. It hits the spot but it's nothing amazing. We like the caprese, the holiday and the original. Good filling meal.

Sorry posted on wrong thread but somewhat relevant. Apologies

I found the butternut squash soup so sweet! I had a salad and that soup before we left for the airport. It's good soup but beware to anyone who doesn't like super sweet savory items.

I've eaten there once and enjoyed it. Thinking about grabbing something here on our arrival night but it will be a Saturday night so worried about crowds. We will be driving straight through from Kentucky, about 13hrs, so we'll be pretty tired and won't feel like a long wait. First night staying at the Hilton DTD. Anyone know how that walk would be or crowds at WPE on Saturday night?
