Before I start Day 7, here are the 'wedding pics' we took outside of Treasure Ketch. We are tempted to buy them and then wear them around
Disneyland whenever we go! LOL
Day 7
This week went by so fast! All week our plan was for me to take all 6 kids to go see the Muppets at 10am while my friend and her Dh enjoyed themselves at the Spa doing the Exotic Rasul at 9:30. Even though I am considered his second wife, I decided not to join them at their spa appt. Dh was all for it but the wives not so much! LOL Of course this great plan of ours was all before their ds6 got sick in the lab the night before. Turns out that even when they picked him up from the lab last night, he felt totally fine even though he had just thrown up. We all think that his little tummy just wasnt use to eating all this fried, unhealthy food every night of the week. Regardless, he needed to be cleared by the ships doctor before he could go back to the lab. Therefore, my friends had to cancel their spa appt. All they had to do was a get a written note from the dr. and bring it to the spa so that they wouldnt get charge for a last minute cancellation.
We met for breakfast at 8:45ish. This was the first time we went to Tritons for breakfast all week (with the exception of ordering breakfast from Tritons to the suite earlier in the week.) Food was good and I was excited to be able to request some crispy bacon. It came out perfect! Once breakfast was over, my friend and I took the 5 kids to the lab/club while her Dh took their ds6 to the dr. My dd never hesitated going into the club until this morning! I told her that I wasnt going back to the room and that I needed to get some things done and if she didnt want to go in the club, she was going to have to just come with me. She chose to go with me. Turns out that as we approached the club, she was looking in as if she was looking for someone. The back wall near where they have the stage had rope on it and it was kind of dark. Dd thought that Captain Hook was coming back by for a visit and needless to say, she does not like him. It may be his very large head that has her spooked. Of course this didnt all register with me until later when I finally asked her some questions.
My friend and I along with dd headed up to BBB to see if we could get some things together to take back to the room for breakfast in the morning. We grabbed some cartons of milk, cereal, bananas, cantaloupe, grapes, trail mix and muffins. We brought them back to the room and put them in some zip lock bags I had brought. When we sailed last time it was a chaotic mess going down to eat at the restaurant with all our carry on bags so I opted to eat in the room. Then we went to Shutters to decide what pics we wanted to get. We both had purchased a cd but I was the only one who decided to get a small package of photos with the borders at the half price discount since I purchased the cd. Cd was $249 and I ended up with 90+ pics while my friend ended up with around 140 pics. After spending quite a bit of time looking at pics, dd and I head back to the room to shower and get dressed. I told her at that time that she will have to go back in the club at 3 when the adults go to High Tea. While in the room, Tawanda stops by. I immediately tell him that it was so kind of Nathan to give the kids the TS dolls but how totally unnecessary it was. He then gave me a Ducky Williams lithograph and we talked briefly about my upcoming cruises. He asked if wed like to meet him tonight in front of the Cadillac Lounge at 7:55 and I said that would be great. Around 1, my friends and I go and get the kids for lunch. I wanted to eat at Tritons since we hadnt eaten there for lunch either but there was a wait to be seated so we decided to go to Parrot Cay. Bad decision! While they had some great Asian inspired dishes for the adults, they did not have one entrée that any of our 6 kids would eat! My kids plates had some cheese, crackers and olives on them. We told the kids we could go up to deck 9 and get them a hot dog or chicken strips by they all wanted to go back to the lab/club. When we got back to the club I see dd looking around and that is when I started asking questions and Captain Hook got brought up! I, along with the Cms, had to tell her many times that Captain Hook would not be coming by but that Belle would be coming by for Story Time. Dd was sold at the mention of Belle!
We had some time to kill before High Tea so we decided to go and visit our new friends Mr. Donald and Samson at the Cove Café. We had nice weather all week but as soon as we walked out onto deck 9, we were FREEZING!!! The sun was shining but it was very windy and there was a bite in the air. We couldnt wait to be sipping on some hot tea soon. We sat in Cove Café for about 20 minutes thinking of things we could invent so that we could be come rich and buy our own cruise ship and just sail all the time. As you can tell ,we were a little sad our week was coming to a fast end! I know from reading here on DIS that High Tea is a try at least once but that many probably wont book it again. I have to say that we actually did enjoy ourselves! The tea was good as were the little sandwiches. The desserts were not that great (common theme throughout the week) until she brought this little shot glass that had whip cream, I think some sponge cake and strawberries. Now that was quite yummy! We were there for about an hour with just 6 other tables total. It was very peaceful and quiet. A nice end to a great week. I will probably book High Tea again on a future cruise.
After Tea, we went and picked up the kids and went back to the room to get changed. We did want to take a few more pics with our own camera. Any pics taken with Disneys photographers would not make it onto the cd so we opted to just walk around and take pics on our own. The pics would have turned out great on deck if it wasnt so windy and cold! I was determined to take the pics anyway.
We ended the week with dinner at AP. Dinner was good and I enjoyed the Baked Alaska for dessert. All the servers do a little parade at the end of dinner to represent all the different countries. The kids had fun chanting Jorge! Jorge! Jorge! I guess the guy with the magic tricks always wins out since they didnt chant for Salomie! LOL We said our good byes to our servers since we were going to eat breakfast in the room. Jorge will be going to the Fantasy and we told Salomie that we hope to see her on the Wonder again.
We kind of just walked around until 7:55 when we met up with Tawanda. He then led us through his secret passageway and we were in the theatre a minute or two before the doors opened. As soon as the doors opened, these kids came running down to the front row and when they saw us there, the looks on their faces were priceless! LOL They just could not figure out how we beat them down there. I got a good laugh out of that! The show was okay, not my favorite but maybe its because it is about us saying goodbye and Im just not ready after 7 days to say goodbye! LOL However, this was the best show to have front row seats. The characters came down during the last song and dance and gave the kids high fives. Oh to be a child again! There is no price I wouldnt pay to put those big smiles on their faces! Its those big smiles, and the smiles they have had all week long, that make
DCL worth every penny! To end the show with a bang, they shoot a massive amount of confetti off. You could barely see your neighbor in the front row! The kids had so much fun playing in it not only while it was still in the air but even after it had collected on the floor!
After the show, we dropped the kids back off at the club/lab as the adults went back to finish packing. The luggage you were not carrying off with you needed to be in the hall by 10:30. Here is a pic of our door on the last night before I took the magnets down. (Thanks again to all the DISigners who created these magnets!)
After I took the magnets down, I got some scissors to cut my fish extender down as I had tied it on with a zip tie. I walk outside and then the door closes. I immediately look down and realize I am not wearing my lanyard that has my room key in it. Crap! Ive locked my self out of the room! I go to my friends room and he is taking his magnets down and he gets a good laugh when I tell him my situation. I was going to call GS from his room but his room steward was right there so he called my room steward with his wave phone and I met him back at my room where he let me back in. I finished packing and Jason comes to my door and tells me Sarah is laying down because she has a headache. He wants to go down to see Russell at the future cruise desk and he wants me to go with him because he thinks I know way too much about DCL but can actually use me. Of course there is a line so we hop into one of the chairs to wait for our turn. Doesnt take too long and we are soon hammering our numbers. This time Jason and the family decide to book two connecting inside staterooms instead of a Cat 4. They also add a set of grandparents to the rooms. After Russell has emptied Jasons wallet, we go back to his room and we find Sarah asleep. We quickly wake her up and we all head back up to Cove Café. As we walk onto deck 9 and is even colder than before and we are looking forward to something warm to drink. We get a hot chocolate with Frangelico. Very yummy! Again, 11:45 creeps up on us and so we say our goodbyes and thank yous. Mr. Donald gives my friend his FB email so that we can terrorize him via FB.
Jason went to the lab to get the boys while my friend and I went to get the girls from the club.
Checking them out for the last time!
The girls were the last ones there and they are sound asleep on a bean bag. It was so cute! My friend ran upstairs to her room to grab the camera. The CM said they sat down on the bean bag in the Captains Closet to watch a movie and just fell asleep. They even pulled the bean bag out all the way to the stage area and they stayed asleep. A week of Disney fun had truly worn these 4 year olds out!
After all the kids were accounted for, my friend and I took the girls back to the room and put them to bed while Jason took all 4 boys up to the arcade (which is open 24 hrs.) My friends had bought a $30 arcade card on the first day and never used it. My kids were given arcade cards by the concierge on Friday so they went to use them up. I probably would never waste money at the arcade. Last time we sailed my kids never even saw the arcade, probably didnt even know it existed. LOL There is just so much to do around the ship! I had given Jason my room key just in case I fell asleep which was a good thing because I did just that. I believe they came back around 12:45. At this point the boys are wiped out and are so grateful that I am not making them brush their teeth. LOL Went to bed for the last time listening to the ocean waves as they put me to sleep.
