Hi Brandy!

You live next door to where I grew up! (Avondale!) My best friend from high school lived on River Road in Bridge City. My mom taught at Prompt Succor for many years (just retired last May) I miss the Gumbo Festival! I have been in NAshville for the last 17 years but mom is still in Avondale, I have 2 sisters in Marrero, one in Lafitte and a brother in DesAlmands. Small World huh!?

I can't wait to hear about your trip.

Definetly better late than never!! I am very glad you are here.

We are also excited about this trip. We went to the store today to do alittle shopping (picked up some personal hygiene stuff, rain gear, glow necklaces, etc).

We will have lots of time (but it never seems like enough ).

I can't wait to go, but I also can't wait to start on the trip report!! I love reading them and I can't wait to write mine. My youngest daughter Rebecca loves reading along with me on trip reports; and loves that I am doing one for our trip.

We're Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I probably won't be able to post until this weekend. But, we did have a great time. We had our ups and our downs, but it was a trip we won't forget!!!!

Yeah, it was definetly interesting. I am working on uploading my pics to photobucket. But, with catching up with work this week, I might not be able to start the trip til this weekend. Plus, I have to order my photopass cd and photobook.

Life has a way of preventing the best of intentions.

I have finally got my work and home commitments in order. This means that I will be able to start writing about my trip. The first post will be up shortly.

In case anyone is wondering, I did change the title. Even though we bought Liz's Malificent doll with us, Liz was in one of her moods this trip. She refused to let us take the doll to the park. So....Malificent was not part of our adventures!

Also, while I won't point it out every time, We did do alot of arguing. It was the whole "what do you want to ride?" arguing. Also, it was verrrrry hotttt!! So, that meant that noone wanted to take many pictures. So, while I do have alot of pictures, I don't have as many pics as I would have liked.

Well, I am going to get started writing the first trip post.

Day 0: Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Plans: This is the day before we left. I would be working from home this day so that I can make sure we have everything packed and ready. My brother Leonard and cousin's daughter Alexis were to sleep over so that we could leave early in the morning. My brother Wes would be coming home from work sometime this day (he worked offshore). The plan was to leave around 4am.

Actual: This day was full of drama. First off, I finished my work on Tuesday; so we went shopping this day for our groceries. My mom, my girls and I went to the Dollar Store, Wal-Mart and Sam's club. We got all of the supplies that we were planning on; but it took sooo long. After dropping off the supplies, we went and picked up my brother Leonard. During the day, I was getting phone calls from my brother Wes. One minute, they weren't going. The next, just my brother's stepdaughter wasn't going. It wasn't until about 7pm that they all said that they were going. (My brother Wes got home around 2pm this day).

The next drama was that my mom and her boyfriend decided that they wanted to wait til the morning to leave; but my brother Wes and me wanted to leave as soon as possible. My brother and I decided that we were going to leave around midnight. (he prefers to drive at night)

So, my brother showed up around 11:30pm to load up my mom's boyfriend's truck with our luggage. (Alexis' mom brought her over around 10pm and hung out until the first car left (me, Liz, my brother Wes, Rena & Alyssa) around midnight.

That brings us to Day 1: Travel Day.....up next.................
