Our Ten Day Adventure Around the World with(out) Malficent!!!....with lots of pics!!!

Day 5-EPCOT
Park Hours 9am to 9pm

This morning was our Breakfast at Akershus for 9:40am. For this meal, my mom, Leonard, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Alexis, Alyssa and I got up and made it to the park around 9am. The rest of our group was planning on arriving around 10:30am to meet us. I went and got a locker while my mom went and bought Alexis and Alyssa the World Showcase passports (I had passports for Liz and Becca already). After getting this all done, we headed for our breakfast with the Princesses. I checked us in around 9:30am and we sat outside waiting for them to call us. We took a few pictures while waiting.

Around 9:40am we were called in. We had to wait in a line for pictures with Belle.
Image057.jpg

Image053.jpg

This took about ten minutes. After our pictures, we were seated. I don’t remember our waiter’s name, but he was very friendly and helpful. We order our drinks (mix of milk, orange juice and coffee). While waiting, my mom went to the cold buffet line and got some food for everyone (fruit, bread, etc). Before the food arrived, Cinderella showed up.

IMG_1684.jpg

The kids were all talking over each other: they were so excited to be seeing her. The food was brought out shortly after Cinderella left. The food was typical breakfast items (eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes) but it was good. The kids and I felt the sausage was spicy; but my mom and brother liked it. The rest of the princesses showed up one behind the other.

We only spent about an hour at breakfast. After finishing up breakfast, the girls decided to change out of their costumes. We had them change in the bathroom at the restaurant. We brought the costumes to the locker. It was around this time that we heard from the others; they were just arriving. They met us at the lockers. Once we met up, we were talking about ride Test Track. My brother Leonard stated that he did not want to ride Test Track.

So, he went and go fast passes for Soarin’ (and rode Mission Space) while the rest of us rode Test Track. It was a 40 minutes wait. And we waited the whole 40 minutes.

While waiting we took the following pictures:

My girls’ love this ride. To load Elizabeth, we were put in an elevator and brought to an area where the car was level with the ground (no taking a step down while holding her). We were brought back to the same spot to unload her.

up next......EPCOT.........part 2.............

After Test Track, we checked out the wait time for Spaceship Earth. It was only 20 minutes; so we got in line. We only waited about 10 minutes. Wes picked up Elizabeth for this ride. I rode with Rebecca. She loved this ride. She loved the video at the end of the ride. She could not wait to ride this again. I told her that we would ride it again before we left.

Up next was Mission Space. Elizabeth and I were not going to ride this. Alyssa ended up sitting out with us. We waited in the “game area” after you exit the ride. We waited about 20 minutes. The group decided to ride the spinning / orange side. Well, Rebecca said that she still likes the ride, but that she only wanted to ride the other side.

By the time we were finished with Mission Space it was about 1:30pm. Everyone but my girls and I had a Lunch Reservation at the Nine Dragons for 2pm. They left to go to the restaurant while my girls and I ate at the Electric Umbrella. I got the Chicken Cesar Salad and a Coke. Elizabeth ate her baby food (which is what she ate for each meal, even if I didn’t mention it in my trip report).

After finishing eating, my girls and I headed to Mouse Gears to look around. We ended up buying a few souvenirs here. Rebecca got her half-brother a pirate’s shirt. She had been obsessing over getting him a shirt and she had finally found one she liked. Everyone else finally met up with us in the store. They decided to look around and shop.

When everyone was finished shopping, we headed to ride Soarin’. We used the fast passes and waited about 10 minutes. Everyone rode; but my mom did not like it and said she would not ride again. Elizabeth was pushed to the ride and picked up to be put on the ride.

Next up was The Seas with Nemo and Friends.

IMG_1762.jpg

IMG_1763.jpg

IMG_1764.jpg

The wait was only 5 minutes. We walked through the stand by line (which is huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Elizabeth and I were riding together so we had to wait for the wheelchair vehicle. I told the others to ride and we would meet them at the end of the ride. It took about 5 minutes (but it felt like forever) to wait for the wheelchair vehicle. Once it arrived, they stopped? (maybe slowed down, can’t remember which?) and rolled her onto the ride and I got on after. There was a little seat for me to sit on. We enjoyed the ride and Elizabeth wanted to do it again. But, I told her we were going to watch Turtle Talk with Crush next. We headed towards the show. The had just closed the door two seconds before we showed up. The cast member walked us towards a back area where she had us wait for the next show (about 20 minutes). We all enjoyed the show. Crush even talked to Alexis. I don’t remember what she said (she was very nervous about him talking to her). It was a cute show and we would see it each trip.

Once we were finished with that, everyone wanted to go somewhere different. I wanted to take my girls to the Epcot Character Spot. We had not seen Mickey yet and Elizabeth was really fussing about that. I told them that I was going to take my girls to see Mickey and friends. Leonard and Alexis also came with us. I’m not sure where everyone else went, but we got in line to see Mickey. We waited probably 20-30 minutes. But, we finally got to see MICKEY!!

The rest of us met up at Fountain View Ice Cream. We all got ice cream and ate it while waiting for Wes and gang to finish.
IMG_1953.jpg

IMG_1949.jpg

By the time we were all finished, it was 8:58pm. We all decided to stay and see IllumiNations. We were on the walkway heading to the World Showcase. We did not have a great view but we enjoyed it all the same. The following are the best pictures that we got.

Afterwards, we headed out and home. The kids did not swim this night (but some of the adults did). I got Elizabeth ready for bed (my mom got Rebecca and Alexis). We went to bed ready for our next day.

Up next…………..day 6…………………..universal studios……………………………

Day 6-Universal Studios
Park Hours 9am to 8pm

Actual: Today we decided to go to Islands of Adventure.
IMG_2115.jpg

My mom & Roy were spending the day away from the group. The rest of us got us and headed to the park. We got there around 9am and picked up the tickets. I ordered them before we left (it was cheaper this way) and picked them up at the automated machine. If you do this, just make sure that you bring the credit card that you ordered them from. You will need the card to swipe and the phone number you gave them when ordering.

Tickets in hand; we headed into the park.

IMG_1994.jpg

IMG_1995.jpg

While walking from the parking garage, Wes decided that he would take Elizabeth with him, Rena and Alyssa; since they would probably only do the shows. So, Leonard, Rebecca, Alexis and I headed towards The Incredible Hulk Coaster.

IMG_1996.jpg

IMG_1997.jpg

Leonard rode first while I waited. He was only about 20 minutes (this is a roller coaster that I would say rivals Rock-N-Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios). After his ride, I rode while he took the girls to ride Storm Force Accelatron (I can’t ride this because it spins like the Tea Party at Magic Kingdom).

IMG_1998.jpg

I love the Incredible Hulk Coaster and the girls loved their ride on Storm Force Accelatron.

We walked around a little checking out the areas.
IMG_2088.jpg

IMG_2091.jpg

We wanted to ride The Spiderman Ride, but the wait was 60 minutes.
IMG_2097.jpg

We did not want to wait that long so we headed to Dudley Do-Right’s ripsaw falls.
IMG_2007.jpg

The wait was about 30 minutes. It was an awesome ride. Before getting on, you see signs that say “you will get wet”. What those signs should say is “you will be soaked”. We were dripping wet; but it was a great ride. I would say I liked this better than Splash Mountain; but only because it is more of an action ride (more turns and drops).

Next up, we decided it was time for lunch. We ate at Café 4 (in the Marvel Comics section). Wes and his group met us while we were there. It is a pizza place. We all got slices of pizza and a drink. The food was good.

After taking care of Elizabeth’s personal needs, we decided to all head to Doctor Doom’s Fearfall.
IMG_2100.jpg

Rena sat with the kids while Wes, Leonard and I rode. It is a free fall ride (we were shot up). The wait was 10 minutes. It was a fun ride; but nothing compared to Tower of Terror.

Next, we headed to The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. The wait was about 20 minutes. This ride is similar to Dinosaur but you wear 3-D glasses. To load Elizabeth, we just rolled her chair up to the ride vehicle and Leonard picked her up. I think this is a awesome ride. It is one of the best of its type. Everyone really loves this ride.

up next..............part 2..........islands of adventure...............

We were all really hot (we dried off from our earlier soaking). So, we decided to ride Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges. Now, the signs for this ride stated “you will get SOAKED”. It was right!!!!! We were even wetter than from Dudley Do-Right’s. This ride is similar to Kali River Rapids. But, it is faster and has more twists and turns. And you get SOAKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a great ride; but some of the group was not happy to be so wet. The wait was 30 minutes. To load Elizabeth, Leonard picked up Elizabeth and walked with her onto the ride (word of caution: the vehicle is WET, you will need to be careful, Leonard slipped while getting on. Thankfully, I got on before him and was able to steady him while he stepped down).

Well, we figured we couldn’t get any wetter; so we headed towards Jurassic Park River Adventure. For this ride, your chances of getting wet are there; but nothing like the other two rides. It really depends on where you sit (front of the boat more likely than the back). The wait was about 20 minutes. It was a fun ride. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.

We all talked and we decided that we would leave. It was around 5pm and everyone else wanted to go swimming. So, we headed out. The evening was spent with some swimming, eating dinner, taking baths, getting ready for the next day and then bedtime.

Some randon pics from this day:

:thumbsup2Great update! I'm trying to get up the nerve to ride the Hulk & Dueling Dragons on our upcoming trip. I absolutely love Rock & Roller Coaster, it's my favorite ride at WDW but I'm usually a chicken when it comes to big drops (I absolutely refuse to ride ToT again) do you think I could handle the coasters at IOA?

Thanks for reading.

Hulk & Dueling Dragons is more like Rock-n-Roller coaster. I think you should be able to handle them.

Day 7-Islands of Adventure
Park Hours 9am to 8pm

Actual: Universal Studios then IOA

On this day, my mom and Roy were going to take another day away from the rest of us. My brother Leonard decided that he would prefer to stay at the house. So, I asked him if Elizabeth could stay with him. He was fine with that (Liz needed a day off to just sit around and watch TV). So, the rest of us left and headed to Universal Studios.

We got there a little before 9am.
IMG_2151.jpg

IMG_2152.jpg

IMG_2156.jpg

Rebecca, Alexis and I explored together; while Wes, Rena and Alyssa went off together. After entering the park, we ran into Scooby and Shaggy. There was only one family before us. After a few minutes, it was our turn. I took pictures of the girls with them. Shaggy asked the girls if they had any Scooby Snacks. They laughed and said no, but next time they will bring some.
IMG_2158.jpg

IMG_2160.jpg

After that we headed down the street and took some pictures.
IMG_2164.jpg

IMG_2167.jpg

IMG_2169.jpg

The place was really deserted. It stayed that way most of the morning.

Our first ride was ET Adventure (10min wait). We pretty much walked through the queue and onto the ride vehicle. This ride is like sitting on a bicycle. It is pretty cool. We all loved it.

IMG_2174.jpg

IMG_2173.jpg

IMG_2176.jpg

Next up was Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster (10min wait). Again, we walked up to the ride and got on right away. It is similar to Goofy Wiseacre ride. It is aimed at the younger kids. But, we all liked it.
IMG_2185.jpg

We took some pictures as we walked towards our next ride.
IMG_2177.jpg

IMG_2182.jpg

IMG_2186.jpg

IMG_2192.jpg

IMG_2196.jpg

Our next ride was The Simpson’s Ride (20min wait). There was a line for this ride but it did not take long for us to get to our ride. This is a really cool ride (if you like simulators).
IMG_2197.jpg

IMG_2198.jpg

Next up was Men In Black (35min wait).
IMG_2201.jpg

IMG_2202.jpg

IMG_2203.jpg

For this ride, you must put all your stuff in a locker. It is free for the first hour? (I think). We put our bags into the locker and headed to ride. We all really liked this ride. You “compete” against the riders next to you; and we won!!!

After getting our stuff from the locker, we started walking around and met Bart Simpson. The girls were excited to meet him. I was hoping to met the whole family but they weren’t out at this time. We did get pictures with Bart.
IMG_2205.jpg

Afterwards, we looked in the Quick-E-Mart. The girls bought “nametags” (collectable pins) with their names on them. As we were walking around, we found a character greeting spot for the characters from Madagascar.

IMG_2207.jpg

The girls really wanted to meet them so we got in line and waited for them to show up. There were a few families in front of us and we waited about 20 minutes.

IMG_2209.jpg

At this point, Alexis said she was hungry so we stopped for Lunch at Beverly Hills Boulangerie.
IMG_2212.jpg

We got a turkey sandwich meal (with potato salad and cantelope) with a coke and a sprite. The food was really good. After lunch, we had our first bathroom stop.

We headed down the street and saw woody woodpecker & curious george. They were just finishing up their meet & greet. But, we were able to wave at them and get a few pictures of them on their way out.
IMG_2217.jpg

IMG_2218.jpg

Next, we headed towards Terminator 2: 3D (15min wait).
IMG_2220.jpg

While waiting in the holding room, I started to feel claustaphoic. I was trying to stand as far right as I could while leaving a little room between me and the other people (but you know how they want you to fill in all available space). Well, I started to feel sick. Thankfully, they started letting us head to our seats (after picking up our 3-D glasses). Once seated, I started to feel better. We sat in the second row. Usually with Elizabeth, we can’t sit in the front. So, I let the girls pick where we sat. Rebecca really likes to sit in the opposite area where we would have to sit with Liz. The seats were fine and the show was as good as before. Rebecca asked me a few times during the show if it was real. I told her no that it is make believe (but I’m not sure if she believed me). Both girls said they liked it.

After exiting the show, I was still feeling bad; so we sat down for a few minutes. We took a few pictures while enjoying some ice cold water.
IMG_2221.jpg

IMG_2222.jpg

IMG_2224.jpg

IMG_2227.jpg

IMG_2228.jpg

While sitting down, my brother Wes called and asked us where we were. I told him where we were. I also told him that I was not feeling well. I told him that the girls and I were going to head to Islands of Adventure to visit Suess’ area (since we didn’t get to that the previous day). He said that they had already done that; but they would meet us over there because they wanted to take some pictures. I asked him if we could leave when we were finished. He said that was fine. (I think the heat had something to do with how I was feeling because my mom said that she was also not feeling well that day due to the heat.)

We headed over to Islands of Adventure. After entering, I took some pictures in the Suess’ area.
IMG_2231.jpg

IMG_2234.jpg

IMG_2235.jpg

Our first ride over here was The Cat in the Hat (15min wait).
IMG_2233.jpg

I probably should have sat this ride out (it spins-a lot). But, it really is a cute ride and the girls enjoyed it.

Next, we headed to Caro-Seuss-el (5min wait-really was a walk on; just had to wait for the ride to stop and unload). The girls rode this by themselves. They had fun and met me at the exit.
IMG_2238.jpg

IMG_2243.jpg

The girls really wanted to ride The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride (25min wait). I was ready to go but we got in line to ride. It is a cute ride and we all enjoyed it. I took some pictures while on the ride.
IMG_2251.jpg

IMG_2253.jpg

IMG_2270.jpg

After the ride, we walked around waiting for my brother to show up.

IMG_2285.jpg

We all met up and headed back to the house. It was probably around 5pm when we got back to the house. Most of the group was going swimming. I asked my brother Leonard if he wanted to go with me to Downtown Disney to do some shopping. We walked through Tren-D and Once Upon a Toy.
IMG_2288.jpg

IMG_2289.jpg

I got the Tower of Terror Clue game while there (we LOVE this game). We also looked in The Art of Disney store (would love to be able to afford some of the stuff here).
IMG_2297.jpg

I ended up buying this little pictures for my girls (Aurora in her blue dress for Liz and a picture of Rosetta for Becca). We also went in the Disney’s Days of Christmas store. I bought an ornament for each of us (Aladdin and Jasmine for me, Cinderella and the Prince for Becca and Aurora and her prince for Liz). Other than the homemade ornaments from my kids, my Christmas tree is all Disney. Lastly, we headed into Goofy’s Candy Co. I bought some Mickey Rice Crispy treats for everyone. After that, we headed back to the house. Everyone loved the treats. Eventually everyone headed to bed.

Next up…………….Day 8……………………..Animal Kingdom……………………….

Just found and read your entire TR. :) I would go crazy travelling with that many people I think but it's nice that you were able to make it work. Taking breaks and going your separate ways seemed to be key. Elizabeth looked so happy with the princesses and other characters.

Thanks for reading. There were definetly some crazy times.:scared1: Spliting up is the key, but my family tried to stay together the whole time. I just couldn't do it. Elizabeth loves Disney and she was so happy. She tells me every day that she is ready to go back to Disney. Our next trip, October 2010, will definetly be a small group!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 8-Animal Kingdom

After the pictures, we were ready to go in to see the show. We were brought in to the wheelchair seating. I asked if we could sit in the lion section and she said of course (we have never sat in the lion section and the kids were excited). Once the show was getting ready to start, the performers picked out a volunteer from each section to help out. Well, they chose Alyssa (my brother’s step-daughter). She really enjoyed being picked.

We all really enjoy this show. Afterwards, I had promised Elizabeth that she could see Mickey. So, we joined the line. It was about a 30 minute wait. Once we got to the front of the line, Mickey had to take a break. We waited maybe two minutes and he was back out. Elizabeth was excited to see Mickey.

Image250.jpg

Image252.jpg

The rest of the lines were long (and no one else wanted to wait) so we skipped them.

When we were finished, everyone was ready for lunch. My girls, mom, Roy and I ate at Pizzifari.
IMG_2412.jpg

IMG_2413.jpg

Everyone else went off to eat elsewhere. We were going to call and meet up after everyone finished. We all got pizzas, salads and soft drinks. We enjoyed our meals.

After lunch, we all met up and headed to Africa to ride Kilimanjaro Safari.

IMG_2465.jpg

IMG_2470.jpg

My girls really love this ride. They really like animals. Everyone enjoyed our safari.

I promised Elizabeth that we would try to meet Pocahontas. So, next up we took the Wildlife Express Train to the Conservation Station. Not everyone was happy, but again no one wanted to go off and do something else and meet up later. Once we got there, I asked how long until Pocahontas and they said an hour, but Jiminy Cricket and Rafiki would be out in about 20 minutes. Well, no one wanted to wait for Pocahontas, but they said that they would wait for the others. So, we looked around for a few minutes until Jiminy Cricket and Rafiki showed up.

IMG_2502.jpg

After our pictures were done, we took the train back to the main park. My brother Leonard had picked up fast passes for all of us for Expedtion Everest while we were all at lunch; so we headed that way. It was starting to get cloudy and we were worried that we would not be able to ride. The girls, Rena, Roy and myself decided to sit the ride out. The rest went and got in line. Well, it started to rain not a few minutes after they left. They came back and said that the ride was down due to the rain. We sat under the fast pass distribution trying to wait it out. It did not stop, but it did slow down a lot. So, we decided to head out of Animal Kingdom.

Tonight, we were planning on seeing Fantasmic! Some were voting for just heading back to the house; while the rest of us wanted to head to Hollywood Studios to try and see the show. Well, Hollywood Studios and Fantasmic won out!!

When we got there, it was lightly drizzling. Roy decided to take a break and wait in his truck for a while. The rest of us headed into the park. We headed towards Toy Story Mania to see what the line was like. It had a 60 minute wait. My girls and I wanted to ride. Everyone else fussed about waiting that long. I said that we had about 3 hours before we would have to get in line for Fantasmic; so why not wait to ride. They all argued with me because I wanted to stay with my girls and they did not want to split up. (Looking back now, I should have just got in line with my girls. When we did ride this on day 10, we loved this ride and we felt it would have been worth it to wait. Especially since, we ended up sitting under an umbrella by Rosie’s All American Café for two hours waiting out the rain!!)

We headed towards Streets of America. We ended up seeing Muppets Vision 3D. This is a really funny and cute show. After that, we headed towards Tower of Terror and Rock-n-Roll Coaster. The kids, Roy and I sat out while the others rode these. We sat by Rosie’s All American Café. We ended up getting dinner while waiting. We all had burgers and fries. The food here is fine (but I was tired of burgers by the end of the trip. And I have not really eaten any burgers since the trip). We ended up sitting here for about two hours waiting out the rain (finally we bought ponchos).

Around 8:30pm or so, they finally let everyone in to see Fantasmic!
IMG_2512.jpg

The show started about 30 minutes or so late. But, it was a great show!! It did stop raining by the time we were all let in.

Here are some pictures that we took of the show:

woo hoo! an update!

I will be in the Animal Kingdom on Sunday, so this was a treat to see everything one more time before I go! :)

Thanks for the update!

woo hoo! an update!

I will be in the Animal Kingdom on Sunday, so this was a treat to see everything one more time before I go! :)

Thanks for the update!

Sorry it took so long to update. School just started for my girls and with working full time, my life has been busy.

I am glad you are still reading. Animal Kingdom is a great park for us because my girls love animals. I hope you have a great trip. I would love to read about it. Have a great day.

Day 9-EPCOT
Park Hours 9am to 9pm

This was our EPCOT day. My mom and her boyfriend Roy decided that they wanted to take the day off and just relax. They had gone to EPCOT on one of their days off from the group. Elizabeth did not want to go anywhere this day. So, my mom said that she could stay with them.

I talked to my brother Leonard and let him know that I would prefer that Wes, Rena and Alyssa spend the day separate from us. He was okay with that; so he, Rebecca, Alexis and I were going to tour together.

Our plan was to just concentrate on the World Showcase; so we were not in a hurry to get to the park. We slept until about 8am; and we left the house around 10am.

Once we arrived, we headed towards Soarin’ to get fast passes for later. Then, we headed towards the World Showcase starting with Mexico. Before heading in, we did grab passes for the Kim Possible Adventure. We got two; one for Rebecca and the other for Alexis. Rebecca’s was for China and Alexis was for Japan.

First up was Mexico. The girls had gotten the passports and we stopped and had those signed. They did not do the masks. We rode Gran Fiesta Tour. This was my first time riding and I liked it. My brother and I shared a Margarita. We enjoyed it.

Next up was Norway. The girls got there passports signed and we looked around a little. We were unable to do Malestrom because we had our drink. I wanted to come back to ride but we never did. Around this time, my brother Leonard went and got fastpasses for Mission Space.

After Norway, it was time for our Kim Possible Adventure. It was Rebecca and me in China and Leonard and Alexis in Japan. We all loved this. It was fun and we will do it again our next trip. The only downside was that there were so many others doing it that we would walk away if we saw someone in the spot we needed to go to. We would wait until they were finished then go and complete our task. We choose not to do another; but met up with Leonard and Alexis in China. We saw the show Reflections of China. Leonard and I liked it; but the girls were ready to go.

After China, we decided to have lunch. We ate at Liberty Inn in America. I had the hot dog combo and the others had the chicken nugget combo. We all enjoyed our food. While there, we caught the Voices of Liberty. They were really great.

Next we saw The American Adventure show since it was starting. I really enjoyed the show and even got teary eyed during the show.

Next, we checked out Germany. We spent a good amount of time watching the model trains. The girls loved it.

By this time, we were all really hot so we stopped in Japan and got all of us a Kaki Gori. When they asked us which flavor, we all said “just the shaved ice please”. We never get the flavor when we get a snow ball; just the ice.

We quickly got the girls’ passport signed in Morocco because Leonard and I were looking forward to visiting France. Once we got to France, my brother got the Grand Marnier Slush and I got the Grey Goose Lemon Slush. We both REALLY enjoyed our drinks!

We saw Beauty and the Beast but the line was long and no one wanted to wait so I had my brother snap this picture:

We ended up meeting Wes’ party around this time. We passed through United Kingdom. We caught a few songs of British Invasion. They were good.

After the World Showcase, we headed to use the fast passes for Mission Space. Wes, Leonard and Rebecca rode. Rena, Alyssa, Alexis and I checked out the “game room” while waiting for them. After that, we all rode Soarin’ with the fast passes. Lastly, we rode Spaceship Earth. Rebecca really loves this ride.

After Spaceship Earth, we headed out of the park for the day. We headed back to the house. There was some swimming and dinner. We talked about our plans for tomorrow at Hollywood Studios (we wanted to do mostly shows; so were got a schedule and figured out our plan of attack). Then, everyone got ready for bed in anticipation for the next day.

Up next…………………………..Hollywood Studios…………………………………
