Our Surprise for the kids!!

We waited as long as we could possibly stand it! We booked this trip in October! My oldest was crying happy tears, my second DD needs time to build up to surprises, and my youngest is over the top! My boy is middle of the road excited! At least now they can join in on the fun and excitement with me!

The video link says "unavailable" How did you surprise them? I am going to be telling our 3.5 year old about our WDW/Disney Cruise trip around the beginning of April (we leave mid-May.) Still trying to come up with a fun way to tell him

I cannot get the link to work

I made a countdown chain (same appearance as we used for our trip in 2013). I hung it up in the same spot, and told them it was time for snack before bed. Invited them all into the kitchen, and they saw the countdown chain hanging up! It was a fun way to surprise them! The chain is at 43 days.

Awwww, I love great surprises We're going in October too - and just told the kids. Their reaction wasn't quite what I was hoping for, LOL! I had the message printed out on a puzzle - the puzzle took so long, they all started to lose interest, LOL! I video taped it, hoping for a great reaction, which didn't happen!

cynditech, I did the puzzle thing also for my 3 grandsons. They each got a puzzle to put together on Christmas. The first puzzle said "Get ready to have fun", the second one said "we are going on" and the third puzzle said "The Disney Cruise." The older (10 yo) grandson looked like he could have cared less, the other two, who were 8 and 6 years old were very happy although I think I was more excited about them doing the puzzles and finding out about the trip than any of them were once they did find out. I had been looking forward to it and anticipating it for months.
Another time I got a big box and put some helium balloons in it. When they opened the box the balloons came out and on the end of one of the balloons was a note saying that we were going to Disney World the next morning. Again, I was the one who was the most excited. lol

I am so amazed that you could do that! I don't think I could keep my mouth shut for that long - I'd be bursting to tell my kid. LOL! It sounds like the surprise worked beautifully. I hope you and your family have a magical trip!

What a great idea! LOL - I do think I get more excited than any of the kids! I wish I could hold out longer and just tell them the night before, or in the morning!
