Just back and wanted to report our success. We had 6 ADRs and for 4 of them we were able to get in 1-2 hours earlier than our time by walking up and asking if there was earlier availability. I'm not sure if they did this because we already had a later time ADR or if they would have given it to us even if we didn't? But I do know that at Le Cellier they were taking walk-ups at 5:20 so always worth a shot! We talked to several hosts/hostesses at the various restaurants and they said it is totally hit or miss. At 11:30 they might be accepting walk-ups and then fifteen minutes later have no availability. Just thought I'd share our experience!

We had good success with being seated at our ADRs as well.
We had 6 days of TS and at each one we showed up anywhere from 1/2 hour early to 1&1/2 hours early (Le Cellier) and were seated within 10 mins everytime.
The Le Cellier host said there wasn't availability that it would be an extremely long wait but we decided to check in early due to rain and we were done for the day. We thought what the heck sit under some cover and enjoy people watching. We sat down and within 5 mins were called to our table!! LOL

I too don't know if it was because we already had ressies or what but it sure was nice. :)

We wrote our time wrong for Liberty Tree and showed up an hour early and they took us strait to our table with no wait ( we got there for kuch at about 11:30). At around 12:30 the line got thick and when we left at about 12:45 we heard people talking to host that they had ressies for noon and where wanting to know when they would get in. I guess we just got lucky on that one.:cool1:

Last January we got into Princess Storybook and Crystal Palace no problem at a different time then our ADR. I am guessing at busy times, this would not happen, but considering January is a slow time, it wasn't a problem.
