Our Seemingly Silly Semi-Illogical Four Day Whirlwind Trip

Hello again! Thanks for joining me.

:wave2: CapeCod53: A big welcome to a someone who has lived near us and knows the Test Track conditions of New York State. I wonder how many years and car accidents it took for Ithaca to figure out not to bother putting stops signs on the streets with vertical hills? :rotfl: It's a lot easier for cars on the cross streets to stop, but I bet it gets annoying when you have to stop at every block. Thanks for sharing a bit about your background. It was fun reading. Interesting, too, that your kids weren't any more impressed than I with the Finding Nemo ride.

:wave2: Backstage Gal: I'm glad you've been testing the "weakest brain cell theory" with no ill effects. Apparently the worst it has done to me is make me somehow resemble Doris Day (inside joke here with Backstage Gal, the rest of you folks aren't expected to make sense of it ;) ) As for the last episode being a cliffhanger ending, I really didn't think it seemed that way. And I was god enough not to torment you with aany foreshaddowing. Not as much as a whisper that in a future episode the words Varnish Stripper will somehow come into play, with ominous results. Or that an event on a bus will scar me for life (or at least for a few days) or that . . . oops. I'm babbling again.

:wave2: disneylizzy: I'm glad I've given you hope that you will find the right man some day and you'll "like to be together all the time." Thanks so much for coming by and reading my trip story.

:wave2: smidgy: Another new reader, although I feel I know you from reading your husband's reports. You should write more segments on your own if you can pull Nebo away from the "Aptiva." I'm glad you aren't bothered by the fact that I pick on him incessantly and fill up his/your report thread with my zanny wizecracks.

:wave2: wvgoofyfan: You were silly enough to drink Pepsi while reading my report? You should know better by now. And I'm worried about one of those Hershey kisses getting lodged in your throat while you're laughing, so maybe you'd better eat after reading, rather than during. And I think you were the one who asked if I would be finished with my report by February 6th. Certainly. Of 2008. Maybe even by May of 2007. It all depends on the extent of the Time Dilation Effect.

:wave2: Maine-iac. Have a GREAT time on your trip. I'll be thinking of you while you're gone. Rats! I wanted to have some Wilderness Lodge photos up before you left. Well, I guess you'll just have to check the photos and the rest of the report when you get back. I have a lot of photos from the GF and the Poly and some from the Contemporary also, toward the end of the report. Whenever that is. :rotfl2:

:wave2: TiggerandTink: Great name! Thanks a million for stopping over to join the Lucky Fourteens adventure. I appreciated the clips you made of the parts you especially found humorous. And I'm glad to know that was not a comprehensive list. I see you are part of the people who are growing obsessed about the contents of the tweed bag. I'm not sure you'll find out what's in the bag in the next episode, but I am sure you'll learn all about our room assignment.

:wave2: bunnysmum, and an extra :wave2: for Bunny! I'm glad to hear you liked the Carousel of Process spoof and my rendition of the familiar song. Reading the last episode of your trip report gave me a brainstorm for a part "Fifteen and a Half" "Breaking News" spoof I'll post in a couple days.

Wow, I'm inspirational! :thumbsup2 Now I have to go back to my last episode and see if I can guess what Breaking News announcement might be upcoming! I can't wait. I love your NewsSpoofs!!:rotfl:

What a great trip "story"! I am enjoying your sense of humor and can't wait to read more!

Debbie

Just getting caught up on your last couple episodes. I'm still laughing about the dryer lint. Ha! I think one of the reasons you two get along so well is that you both have a sense of humor.

Reading this was one of the highlights of my weekend. Very much looking forward to your next installment!

What a great way to arrive at the WL. Brilliant! I'm so looking forward to reading about your experience there. Uh-oh, I'm guessing that check-in is going to be a problem and that the Carousel of Process was closed for refurbishment or something.

Notice how I'm not mentioning the thing that will not be mentioned.

Oh. Wait.

Love the pics!!

Yes, you are inspirational. :) I'm not sure if you have an inkling yet of what's coming, but when you read the new segment, you will immediately see where my idea was born from some of your comments.

Hello Debbie, and Welcome!! I'm always so excited to see new readers. So, thanks for taking a moment to write and let me know you're reading. Don't be afraid to pop in with feedback, I love hearing what parts of the report people enjoyed and/or can most relate to.

Thanks a million. I'm glad I could bring a smile and a chuckle or two to your weekend. Yes, I think Lowell and I get along well because neither of us takes ourselves too seriously. It should be a good week here this week. I did a few loads of laundry on Saturday and have hidden away a nice big lint wad, just in case. . . .

:lmao: You're cracking me up. Thanks for not mentioning it. Much. :lmao:
The Carousel of Process closed for refurbishment? :rotfl2: Now you're killing me. I'm glad you're onboard with my demented sense of humor. :thumbsup2

Kay....I'm a little late but, boy, are you worth it!
I love your writing style! I felt like I was there with you.

I also love the cheese soup in Canada, except I dont like too much bacon sprinkled on top. But all the food you described sounds so wonderful. I can just picture you hippity hop sprinting (for more pedometer steps) away from your DH with a little scrumtous treat!

I am wondering if your check-in went as imagined.....There's no midway, it's either :cloud9: or  . Cant wait to hear all about it!

I subscribed awhile ago...

I just started reading a day or two ago tho,
I've been lurking since yesterday, reading.

Love your writing,

:wave2: Actually, sometimes there is such a thing as a room that is simply :confused3 but I'm not saying yet whether that applies to ours. :rotfl2: You will find out when I post that segment sometime between Friday and Sunday of this week. Thanks for continuing to read. Compliments from you mean a lot. :goodvibes I will be posting PART FIFTEEEN AND A HALF later today, the "breaking news" spoof I mentioned the other day. Stay tuned! :happytv:

:wave2: Thanks so much for joining me, I am very happy to have you aboard. Please let me know what you think of the "story" as you get farther along.

:wave2: Hi, Diane!!! Work on Nebo to take you to Disney for Soaps Weekend. I haven't watched soaps in years, but when I did, I used to watch All My Children, and I can still remember Erica. Wow! She's still on the show? I think I haven't seen the show in maybe 20-25 years!!!! My mother never liked soap operas, she used to say "They open the door one day, and close it the next." That cracked me up, because it's pretty much true. :lmao: And yet, maybe I can't laugh too hard since I am turning a four day whirlwind trip into an epic novel. :rotfl2: And so is Nebo, for which I am happy, since I am in no hurry for his trip report to end!

Thanks Kay for keeping my spirit up and alive! Reading your TR is my source of comic relief during a difficult time in my life. My Mom passed away a few days ago after years of battling Alzheimers. I enjoy getting away from life for a while and reading your funny and very entertaining segments. Can't wait for the next one.:thumbsup2

PART FIFTEEN AND ONE HALF:

BREAKING NEWS!

Local police officers rushed this evening to the Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Park to quell an uprising which could not be contained by Disney security staff. Witnesses on the scene, at the ride known as It’s a Small World, reported that a doll from Russia was the only confirmed injury. The uprising was allegedly organized by dolls from several nations. Approximately 60% of the dolls at It’s a Small World attempted to escape from the building at 7:52 PM this evening, resulting in a violent altercation between themselves and Disney security teams. Disney quickly called for police reinforcement.

Our source, who asked not to be identified, claimed that the dolls were brought from various countries to the theme park against their will, and made to sing the annoyingly repetitive, “It’s a Small World” song for as many as fifteen hours per day, without breaks or meals. The ACLU will be investigating this claim. A Disney spokesperson we contacted refused comment.

We briefly interviewed the Russian doll, Katrina, who had been treated and released by a Disney staff doctor.

"Katrina, if you were unhappy, why didn’t you dolls try to escape before?”

“Escape is difficult. Why do you think this ride uses a channel of water and boats? The water is a moat, so we cannot all escape. Dolls who do not have to cross the moat still cannot escape. There is a guard tower by the exit and a woman in the tower. She smiles and waves at the boats. You think she is there to operate the ride? Nyet. She is prison guard. And so we must sing the annoying song. All day. Same song. All week. Same song. All year. Same song. I had greater freedom in Mother Russia before I came here.”

It is unlikely that dolls wishing to leave will be allowed safe passage. They are deemed Disney property. Cast members advised us that the dolls and Disney representatives will meet next week to negotiate shorter hours, better wages, and additional benefits. When asked whether the dolls might be given a larger repertoire of songs, cast members expressed doubt. One told us, “Some dolls have threatened to set themselves on fire or jump headlong into the water, but I really don’t think Disney will budge. The song is not negotiable.”

Am I first??
First a new post by LaLa & now Ms Kay...hokey pokey..that's what it's all about. All I need is a Zzub fix & I'll sleep sweet Dole Whip dreams tonight!
LY/MI or Numb .....WHAT-everrr
BD

No

Way!

You

Rock!!!!

Here, I was thinking those are decades of lost or missing children who have wandered away from their parents in the park and turned into wooden dolls and forced to sing and dance....often the Can-Can or Hula for 15 hours perday. Poor little wooden babies!!!!

(Gasp!) Little Susie Sweetshoes, a prison guard? Say it ain't so! And she seemed like such a nice girl.

Perhaps she really IS Susie Sweatshoes after all. Can't you just hear her singing in her guard tower, mocking the captive dolls and wilted guests even as she smiles and waves? :rolleyes1

It's a sweat world after all, It's a sweat world after all,
It's a sweat world after all, It's a sweat-y world.

It's a world of swelter, a world of heat,
It's a world of sunburn and sweaty feet,
There's such warmth everywhere,
It sets fire to your hair,
It's a sweat, sweat world.

Another prime installment! I do jumping jacks in your honor.:yay:

If I was a Small World doll and had to choose between singing that song 15 hours a day and throwing myself in the moat...bon voyage!

Thanks for more laughs, Kay!

nebo and I can share, but ONLY if it is cut in 2 first - no using the same utensils or biting where the other has bitten before. Nebo's squeamish rules. I once tood a lick of his ice cream cone and he cwouldn't eat it anymore because it had my "toungueprint" on it!!
( ps. never mind about super soap weekend. I'm too mad at them. yesterday all my children killed off Dixie - again! can't believe I was standing in my kitchen bawling like a child!)

I just finished reading up to page 5 and had to stop and just post that you are hysterical. The Mission Space episode is the funniest thing ever. I was laughing out loud & my hubby wanted to know what was so funny so I read the whole segment to him and he was laughing also. We are leaving for the world on Monday & I think I will print out your whole trip report for my brother & sis-in-law to read on the plane. Have to go now and finish reading the rest. Thanks for this fun report. You really should be a writer!
