Hiya T. Merry Christmas.

Was that you who sent me a text message on my phone last night?

You should read the letter at the shack... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I know she was doing :laundy:

I'll have to read it!:lmao: I could only fit in one glass of wine last night when I stayed up to 3am :sad2: ....but then, I'm so tired tonight that would knock me right out.

Hope you had a great day! Did the kids get everything they wanted?

Mr. O! That picture reminded me of a conversation I had with BIL on Christmas Eve. He is from New Orleans. I asked him about the bonfires. He'd never heard of them. I swear he thought I was making it up. Exactly where are these held? He did say there were always images of 8 alligators leading Santas sleigh in Louisiana, so I got a good laugh when I saw the Christmas alligator you posted!:rotfl:
Great pictures!:thumbsup2

Happy early anniversary. My niece will be 17 on the same day! I'd like to go to LA too to see the fires.

Congrats! What's with all the old talk--- just a reminder that someone is having a birthday?!?!?! Happy early Birthday, hope you have a great day!

Hope ya'll had fun.

Some of this might be repeat of what i have already said over the past week or so -- if so then sorry, consider it Christmas day brain snow :rotfl2:

Hey there one & all --- Merry Christmas. I have been gone forever it seems. Dealing with lots right now (seems like all i do is whine)

I have developed a massive ganglion on my wrist (very large lump on my wrist that is wrapped around the nerves) and that makes typing and "mousing" very painful.

The weather has been awful here -- snowing (good for white Christmas) so much that our Church Cantata had to be canceled -- we practiced since October so it was disappointing -- it was postponed until this past Sunday morning for both services (9 & 10:30) During the 1st one i made it thru the 2nd song before i felt woozy -- saw stars and knew i had to leave the sanctuary --- spent the rest of it with my head between my knees in the back. Couldn't sing in the 2nd service either so all that practicing was for naught.

Doc increased my meds and I have felt lousy ever since -- saw him yesterday and he agreed to lower it so let's hope that in a few days i will be more of my ducky self again.

Around 4 yesterday Emily came barging into the kitchen and announced "I have MOLD on the walls in my bedroom" so she & John spent the next hour or so stripping wall paper and bleaching the wall -- fun NOT

Christmas has been great so far -- everyone liked what they got -- John Is playing a computer game, Ben is "WII-ing" and Em is napping. Supper is in the crock-pot (chicken & dumplings) and me, well I am DIS-ing!

that's all for now (i think all my hand can deal with anyway!)

Jacqueline~

 So SOrry that you are going through so much!

I know how you were looking forward to the Christmas Cantata! Hopefully instead of thinking of all that practice as a waste of time, you can think of it as a few months when you got to sing beautiful music with your church peeps. SInging is always joyful, though I know it had to be so disappointing that you couldn't be a part of the culmination of all of that work!

:scared1: on the mold!

Santa brought a Wii to my family and the girls were very excited and pleased. Wii was being played all day!:thumbsup2

Chicken and Dumplings!!!! YUM! I haven't had that in years. Can you PM your crockpot recipe to me? I love the crockpot!

Hoping the new meds kick in quickly and you are feeling better soon!

I was so tired yesterday, I was asleep by 10:30 pm....I don't think that has happened for two years!!

I saw that calendar at the mall and almost got it for him!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I was asleep by 10:30. At 10:00 I told the girls it was time to turn off Wii and get some sleep. Luckily everyone is sleeping right now (except DH, he has to work today) so I am not listening to High School Musical songs over and over again!

Hope everyone had a fantabulous Christmas! We did! I really thought I'd get on here sometime during the day to wish everyone a
Merry Christmas, but never got the chance. Soooooo.....HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! There that way I don't miss out on the wishes again!:thumbsup2

Heather...sorry about the ILs....that's not good.

But know that you are NOT alone. I could write a book about my family. Actually a series. with many, many, many volumes :teeth:

Reading in dim light won't damage your eyes, you don't need eight glasses of water a day to stay healthy and shaving your legs won't make the hair grow back faster.

These well-worn theories are among seven "medical myths" exposed in a paper published in the British Medical Journal, which traditionally carries light-hearted features in its Christmas edition.

The research was conducted by Aaron Carroll, an assistant professor of pediatrics at the Regenstrief Institute, Indianapolis, and Rachel Vreeman, fellow in children's health services research at Indiana University School of Medicine.

They took seven common beliefs and searched the archives for evidence to support them.

Despite frequent mentions in the popular press of the need to drink eight glasses of water, they found no scientific basis for the claim.

The complete lack of evidence has been recorded in a study published the American Journal of Psychology, they said.

The other six "myths" are:

Reading in dim light ruins your eyesight

The majority of eye experts believed it was unlikely to do any permanent damage, but it might make you squint, blink more and have trouble focusing, the researchers said.

Shaving makes hair grow back faster or coarser

It has no effect on the thickness or rate of hair regrowth, studies say. But stubble lacks the finer taper of unshaven hair, giving the impression of coarseness.

Eating turkey makes you drowsy

It does contain an amino acid called tryptophan that is involved in sleep and mood control.

But turkey has no more of the acid than chicken or minced beef. Eating lots of food and drink at Christmas are probably the real cause of sleepiness.

We use only 10 percent of our brains

This myth arose as early as 1907 but imaging shows no area of the brain is silent or completely inactive.

Hair and fingernails continue to grow after death

This idea may stem from ghoulish novels. The researchers said the skin dries out and retracts after death, giving the appearance of longer hair or nails.

Cell phones are dangerous in hospitals

Despite widespread concerns, studies have found minimal interference with medical equipment.
