From my dad about his surgery & results:

All wired and properly connected, Ethel and I made the quick and fun trip to
the Dr.'s office in Norfolk this morning. With a few quips and a few snips
they unstapled me. Ethel said 46 staples. Pathology report did show that
the tumor had grown to 4.5 cm. When this started last Oct, it was 3.7 cm so
it was growing at a good pace. The tumor was all encapsulated and the shell
was still intact. Type 2 carcinoma or more commonly know as kidney cancer.
Now it is just a matter of yearly check-ups with X-rays and blood work.
Sure glad to have it out of there.

I just got a little teary and had goosebumps...positive toughts and prayers will keep coming your way even if it is out of there. It was a nice thing to open up and read first thing in the morning! .

No NSalz's DH (invalid boy can't fly yet after his latest attach the retina surgery and he can't drive either. It's too far for NSalz to do all the driving!

The PD112 family has decided that we are going on a cruise for our 25th anniversary in 2009. I am currently trying to talk the NSalz'z into accompanying us!

Spirit was giving me a higher price. Jet Blue has better pricing. The only thing is...he will NOT fly. The only other thing I am going to try is renting a car here in NJ, for a week and see what that gives me. They will have to take their own car.

Hope it works out! I agree I think they need to take their own car. They're probably really nice people, but I also think sometimes you need some down time too. I think the whole traveling experience will be better if you didn't have to entertain while your doing all that driving.

Well, I called her this morning, and told her the news. And she said Oh well, looks like we'll take my car down because those prices are outrageous! So I told her about the flight, and she said that is totally out of the question. It would be so much cheaper, because we would be paying the entire way down, because we would be anyway so we weren't going to take a dime from them. I called DH, and he said he would take her car in a week before the trip and give it a complete tune, and fix any potential problems free of charge so this way, there will be no worries. All worked out!

Morning Peeps... OK got baseball registration done ($50) went to the dollar store and now hopefully catch up on my soaps and rest till basketball at 5pm..

Hey, and I just happened by! I was thinking of you this week. One of my students was trying to sound out c-a-t. He got each letter sound, but couldn't put it together. I told him it was a word, so try to think of what word sounded like that. He said, "Oh yeah, when there's stuff on the floor, that's cr@p!" I laughed out loud. I couldn't help it.

Sadly not....Since we came home early from there in February...my husband had to have a big eye surgery and cannot fly for a while. We really don't mind driving 24 hours to get there...but he can't do that either for a while. I even checked the train and it would cost each passenger a round trip of at least $600.00. So we will have to wait for summer. Ugh!

Have fun catching up on soaps. I think we are going to go out and get a bit of lunch on a few minutes. TOT and dd10 are discovering "The Jetsons" on the cartoon network right now. They were laughing at me singing the theme song...some things are hard to forget.

just woke up from a 2 1/2 hour nap, and I'm having a hot flash. The A/C in our apartment is set to 70 and working fine, but I'm burning up. Also some of my muscles are twitching. This has happened before, and asked my doctor about it. He says it because of my diet (not the healthiest, but I try) and the fact that since the gastric bypass, I can't absorb all the nutrients and stuff. But I think its because since my bypass, I think I've gotten to become hypoglycemic. sometimes its sorta like I go into sugar shock or something. I've tested my sugar, and it's always been a little on the low side. Gonna have to get tested again.

Not nice to feel sick when you wake up from a nap. I hope all is going ok now

I seem to recall discussing that we are celebrating our 25th in 2009 as well! We can hardly wait for our 1st no-kids trip to WDW. I am already dreaming of where to eat and go and stay .....
