Since you have a trip to WDW in the hopper, I think I would go with Vegas. DH and I have done Vegas a few times without the kids, and it was great. You can get free tickets to shows if you go listen to a timeshare presentation (it's only cheap if you don't buy the timeshare, though). Also, at Caesar's, they have a club called Cleopatra's Barge, live band, dancing, no cover. We had the best time there. We do nickel slots, hang out by the pool, look for cheap shows (there are a few good afternoon shows) and eat a lot. There's a website called cheapovegas.com that's really funny and has a lot of good info.
Have you looked for deals on Southwest Airlines?

I downloaded the SW DING thing. I would hate to sit through a timeshare presentation, especially if I already own one ugh, just listening bothers me. Also I don't know if I would be able to since I just did it in Aug. I think it can only be 1 every 12 months, but I could be mistaken.

LOL at the eat a lot. That's me when I am away.

We figured if we went there we would have no time limits and all, so I would be able to take in the scenery and enjoy everything.

Thanks for your advice :thumbsup2

:welcome: TOT-Boy. You hang with a fun and funky crowd. Enjoy your first swipe. I'm GREEN with envy.

Hmmm, my first choice would be for you to come celebrate with us in November, tell your dh we'll give you a great party: !

What other places could you go with the time share? My first choice would be FL, but since you are going in Aug & you are trying to make this an anni to remember, maybe you should try someplace else. Good luck

:rotfl: I tried that with him. So far no good lol, but I am not one to give up easily.

I could go to many places with the timeshare using RCI, but I would rather stay in my club resorts instead, no 'major' reason just because. But we have Hawaii, Vegas, Florida, CA (should be opening in Jan), Scotland, Colorado, and I know I'm missing something else, but I can't remember.

I thought about Colorado but I would rather go in the winter months to go skiing, and we are going in May.

The only reason I considered FL, is because DH is anti-Disney. And I know there are many things for adults to do, and wanted to show him that. He also thinks that without the children it would be a more relaxed atmosphere, and he might love it as much as I do.

You won't be far from Hoover Dam (never done it) and the Grand Canyon (love it). they have helicopter tours out of Vegas that look pretty exciting (but I'm a big chicken).

I thought the Grand Canyon was a little further away. I would definitely look into a helicopter tour, although I would be a chicken too, but I am already braving a 6 hour flight out of NYC, so I guess I could do a helicopter flight, with maybe a drink or two :rotfl:

Princess89; DEFINETLY not Vegas! :rotfl: Florida any day!
What do you think the chances are of Disney ever having casino games and waitresses in little outfits bringing you free (almost free) drinks? Yeah, well that's why I go. Isn't that why everyone else goes? :rolleyes1

:lmao: :rotfl2: But Atlantic City is close to stay and play for an hour or two and come home, so if I wanted to see waitresses in little outfits bringing me free drinks, I could. Not that I go for that reason, and DH would argue its for the 'atmosphere'

There are also places that you can buy show tickets the day of at 1/2 off. The big coke bottle down by MGM is one of them. Get there early and you'll have a good selection of shows if your not too picky. We were ok not going to see Celine or O so we did this when we were there last fall. Vegas is a great time just totally different than wdw.
The one at the coke bottle is called tickets2nite and the is one down the strip called Tix4Tonight (they have locations at Fashion Show Mall, across from the Stardust, near the Polo Towers, and the 4Queens downtown). I've used both and they work really well. The tickets won't go on sale till around noon (that's when they find out what the shows have left over for seats); you don't buy a ticket you buy a voucher that you take to the box office for the show where they give you an actual ticket. Best bet is to get their right after they open, then head over to the shows ticket office to get a good seat (first come gets better seats). I've seen tickets for Cirque shows, but not too often. You will find a good variety of shows though not just middle rate shows.
:teeth: Can you tell that I've been to Vegas more times than I can count. I still remember placing sports bets when I was 19 (I know really bad) actually won and collected some bets then.

I will never sit through one of those. Biggest waste of you're vacation time (time=money).

Also gotta say I hate buffets. Used to do buffets when they were cheap; they're not cheap anymore. Will occationaly do a breakfast one. I just don't eat enough food to make it worth my while.
When I go there are to places I'll eat at. Any of the In-n-out burger places, or Ellis Island ($4.99 steak dinner -it's not bad).
